Heat To Retire Zo's #33 Jersey

Finally the Miami Heat franchise will retire a jersey number that was actually worn by one of their own (true story, the only 2 jersey numbers retired in Heat history are Michael Jordan's and Dan Marino's). On March 30th, the Heat will officially retire Zo's #33 and rightfully so. Zo definitely deserves it, I don't care what Will Hatchers says lol.

Anyway, the Heat should go ahead and reserve a spot next to Zo for D-Wade's #3 jersey after tonight's performance in the Heat's 120-115 win. Wade had 46 points, 10 assists, 8 boards, 4 steals, and 3 blocks! Oh, and 24 of those 46 came in the fourth after the Knicks busted Wade's lip on a fucked up no call. Don't tug on Superman's cape.

Cowboys Trade CB Henry For QB Kitna; Sign LB Brookings

Today my Dallas Cowboys filled the gaping hole at back up quarterback by trading Anthony Henry to the Detroit Lions for Jon Kitna. This trade reunites Kitna with Roy E. Williams, with whom he had his best season as a pro. Interesting deal.

Back in December I listed Henry as the 8th most important Cowboy to get rid of going in to the new season (5 down, 5 to go) BUT I'm not sure I'm happy with this trade. I mean I like the whole Kitna/Williams thing, but I don't like the idea of trading a starter for a backup...and not just any backup, a backup that was most likely being released soon anyway. This also makes us thinner in our secondary so I hope Chris Jenkins and Orlando Scandrick are really ready for primetime this year. Just weird, but I'm definitely happy we have somebody putting pressure on Romo to perform and is a more than capable fill in...unlike Brad Johnson.

The Cowboys also signed former Atlanta Falcons LB Keith Brooking. I guess we can say peace out to Zach Thomas and any chance of the Boys bringing Ray Lewis in. I'm not mad at that! This is a great signing, go Jerry!

Chiefs Acquire Cassel From Pats

Tom Brady's rehab must be going well because today the New England Patriots agreed to send their recently franchised back up QB Matt Cassel to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange to a 2nd round pick in this year's draft. Scott Pioli is pulling a Bill Parcells and taking all his players from his previous club. I hope it works out for both teams...but more than likely it won't lol. I'm not so confident Brady is gonna come back & have a season like he did in 2007...hell, I don't think he would've done that in 2008 if he had stayed healthy all year. And I'm really not confident that Cassel is gonna have a season like he did in 2008 because he won't that Pats O-line blocking for him, or be throwing to Moss and Welker in KC. But yeah good luck to both lol.

1) Marbury Makes His Celtics Debut
^^That is the happy man in the world right now lol. Tonight Stephon Marbury made his debut with the C's in a 104-99 win over the Pacers in Boston. Steph came off the bench and turned in 8 points on 4-6 in 13 minutes of use. He also added in a rebound, 2 assists, and a steal. Not bad, if he can keep this up it may work out for the Celtics after all.

(Oh yeah, and no there is no other #3 on the Boston's roster, I'm assuming he's worrying #8 for the same reason KG rocks #5, his regular number was retired.)

2) Hamilton Returns To The Starting Line-Up, Pistons Return To Winning
With Allen Iverson out due to injury, Richard Hamilton regained his spot in the starting line-up tonight and scored 31 points while helping the Pistons snap their 8 game skid. Michael Curry needs to join Terry Porter in the unemployment line because this was a common sense move to start Rip. They were 4-12 wth him coming off the bench! Hello!

After the Miami Heat sent them to their 7th straight loss, the Detroit Pistons are below .500 at 27-28. (I was actually watching that game before President Obama spoke and D-Wade was killing them! He set a new career high too with 16 assist.)

So, is it time to admit that this trade was an epic fail for Joe Dumars the Pistons?? When it happened, I said it didn't make sense and now they are 23-28 with Allen Iverson in that #1 jersey. Thank goodness they are still in the East though, so they're still in the playoff race (if they were in the West they'd be in 10th place).

President Obama's Congressional Address

Just finished watching President Barack Obama rock the balls off of Congress! Man, did we make the right choice or what?? (Speaking of making the right choice in the election, did you guys see John McCain tonight?? That guy looks terrible! He looks like he's on his last days of life. No disrespect to him, but I could imagine what it'd be like if he was our President right now. Back to Barack...) President Obama is definitely out there looking like a leader. He hit on plenty of key issues and spoke candidly about what we're going to be doing about things like the economy, energy, health care, the war, and education. Excellent job, definitely a homerun tonight.

Now, did anybody see Gov. Bobby Jindal's "Republican Response" that came on a few minutes later?? What a fuckin' waste of time! First off, if this is who the Republicans are gonna throw up there to go against President Obama in 2012, be my guest. That would almost definitely secure Barack's spot for the next 4 years. But man, was that the most boring, pointless use of airtime since Cavemen, or what?? Very "McCain in front of green screen"-esque lol. I mean fuck! What a buzzkill! What was he even talking about??? He was basically blaming Democrats for all of America's problem as if a Republican didn't leave office last month after 8 years. Now, y'all know I'm a huge Joe Budden fan and I love Padded Room (I'm even thinking about reviewing it...but will probably get too lazy lol), but I'm thinking there's little to know chance of this album doing anything special. Though there will be physical product in some stores, most of his units will probably be sold digitally (hence him being on Amalgam Digital) and I'm not sure that shows up on SoundScan. I have 2 guessing: 50k-75k if the digital sales count, 25k-49k if they don't.

Last up is Havoc's new album Hidden Files. It probably should've been called "Hidden Album" because I had no idea it was coming out lol. No disrespect to Havoc or the Mobb's legacy, but we all know this shit ain't selling nothing. I'm gonna go with 7k-20k.

Marbury, Knicks Reach Agreement, May Be Headed To Boston

Its about time, I thought they had said fuck it and forgot about the shit lol. Anyway, this agreement to release Steph comes just in time because after March 1st, no player is allowed to walk on with a team & play in the playoffs. Now, I'm not sure how Marbury will fit on the Celtics roster (and more importantly, coming off the bench), but I think we can pretty much count them out of the Championship race. Nothing against them or Steph, but there's just no way they are getting back to the Finals this year. This team cannot beat the LeBron and the Cavs...well they can, I just think they won't and adding Steph and Mikki Moore just isn't enough.

Colts Officially Release Harrison

I think this is best for all parties involved. Colts really don't need Marvin anymore with the way Reggie Wayne and Anthony Gonzalez are playing and Marvin doesn't need to take less money just because he got old. They all knew he'd get old eventually when he re-signed in 2004 so I don't know why they'd want him to make less. If that's the case, why even sign him to the big contract in the first place??

Anyway, its a sad end because I do like the Colts (2nd of course to my Cowboys) so you hate to see big pieces depart. No more "Manning to Harrison," that's just crazy! Hopefully lands on his feet. Now, all the Colts have to do is figure out what they're gonna have to do at RB because Joseph Addai ain't cutting it.

Colts Agree To Release Marvin Harrison

Earlier today Marvin Harrison asked to be released by the Colts after they asked him ti restructure his contract. Its probably best for all parties because 1) Harrison has CLEARLY lost at least 2 steps and 2) if I'm a NFL player I'm not restructuring shit because that team really doesn't care about me so why should I take less to help you out?? I get it. Now the question is where will he land?? ...Hopefully not in Dallas lol.
