I'm totally over Jason Garrett moronically icing his own kicker last Sunday (mostly because I knew we'd lose in odd fashion), but I still thoroughly enjoyed this Cowboy Jeff parody.

Cowboys Keep Garrett
I can't say I didn't see this one coming, Garrett has done a great job since taking over for Wade Phillips in November
As a Cowboy fan, I'm fine with the decision, and can't wait to see what the 2011 Cowboys do when Tony Romo, Dez Bryant, and the new additions from the 2011 Draft (hopefully on the offensive line and in the secondary) arrive.
(Side note: I hate that we interviewed Ray Sherman when we knew Jason Garrett was our guy. The Rooney Rule is a joke.)

Cowboys fire defensive coordinator Brian Stewart
Well I can't really say I'm sad about this one here because the our defense really didn't start playing until Wade took over the play calling. I wonder who Jerry is gonna bring it?? This is all just so interesting because I think if Jason Garrett finds another job, Wade is probably gonna be out too. Right now chances are Garrett is staying with the team though because the Detroit job is filled, the St. Louis just is all but filled, and I don't even think the Jets interviewed him.
With Jon Gruden getting can in Tampa, that's also a new scenario he could fall into and maybe if they drop Herm Edwards in KC but I think those are our only options right now.

Jason Garrett Interviews With Broncos
I doubt he'll get the job after his lovely play calling throughout the season. Plus, why would the Broncos hire another offensive head coach?? They don't need help on offense, they're loaded, and if that was their main concern they might as well had kept Mike Shanahan.
Long story short, Garrett probably won't get the job, but we need to get this nigga hired somewhere so we don't have to fire him. How do you tell somebody you like you don't want them?? Hmm, Boston College is probably gonna be looking for a head coach, do you think that'd want him??

Shanahan To Dallas In 2010??
As soon as I saw Shanahan had gotten fired earlier last week, I knew it was only a matter of time before the "Shanahan to Dallas" talks started. Welp, its finally here, but the time we're hearing is not 2009, its 2010. Jerry Jones is gonna stick with Wade Phillips for at least one more season and anything short of a Super Bowl win (not appearance) would end up being his death blow. To me that basically sounds like Jerry wants to use Wade to get the defense all the way right before kicking him to the curb for the offense-orientated Shanahan. Hmmm, not a bad idea lol.
The ideal situation for Jerry would probably be to demote Wade to defensive coordinator and hire Shanahan to be the head coach, but then that leaves Jason Garrett. If Shanahan did come in, he'd definitely take over the offensive play calling so there would really be no need for Garrett. He'd be what Brian Stewart is now lol.
Well however it shakes up, I just don't want Shanahan and Shanahan alone because though the Broncos offense was explosive, their defense was horrid. I mean they even managed to give up more points than we did Week 17 in a game where everything that could go wrong for us did. Long story short, don't hand over the team to Mike Shanahan without Wade Phillips in the picture.

Top 10 Cowboys That Should Be Shown The Door
If Jerry Jones is wondering who needs to stay and who needs to go he needs to check out my top 10.
10) Zach Thomas
He's still an all-time great and probable Hall of Famer, but he didn't really help us out at all.
9) Roy L. Williams
Yeah he only played in like 2 or 3 games this season, but even if he was there you know he would've been getting burned. We shouldn't have brought him back last year and definitely shouldn't next.
8) Anthony Henry
Henry is constantly getting beat in coverage and missing tackles so its time to part ways.
7) Roy E. Williams
Let the records show, I said this was a bad trade from the beginning. His poor route running in that loss in Philly proved that and also why Romo has been reluctant to look his direction. I still say we should've waited for T.J. who's gonna be a free agent.
6) Cory Procter
The only reason I left him out of the top 5 is because he is a back-up and was forced to play because of injury to Kyle Kosier and Montrae Holland. Anyway, he was terrible all season and we can't expect Romo to do anything when Procter is always getting beat.
5) Brian Stewart
Why is he even on the staff?? Wade is doing the defensive play calling during the game now anyway.
4) Flozell Adams
Its been nice, but its time for change. He's good for at least a false start per game and he wasn't getting killed by Trent Cole against the Eagles.
3) Brad Johnson
We have no use for him besides at holder and that's just not good enough. Plus, I could never forgive him for his terrible play while Romo was out.
2) Pacman Jones
This was an experiment gone bad. He hasn't done one thing positive for us on the field besides make the tackle after he's repeatedly beat in coverage. I feel bad because I actually wanted him to come to Dallas.
1) Jason Garrett
The play calling has been pretty bad all year and as T.O. has been saying for weeks, teams have figured us out and we need to give some different looks. Maybe it was just a sophomore jinx, but his play calling was questionable all season. Ex: Instead of pounding it up the middle with Choice on 3rd and inches, he calls a pass in the flat which turns into a 4 yard loss by Roy E. Williams. Unacceptable. When all we got was a field goal out of that drive I knew it was all downhill from there. Maybe he'd be better off as a head coach where he wouldn't have to call plays, but we need to get rid of Jason Garrett the offensive coordinator.
Here's my bonus top 10 of players we need to keep around.
10) Miles Austin
Miles has been great all season and is a much better kick returned than Pacman. He's another reason why I think the Roy Williams trade was a bad idea.
9) Leonard Davis
Leonard is the man. He's huge and takes up a lot of space so we definitely need to keep him on board.
8) Bradie James
Bradie should've made the Pro Bowl, but he doesn't have a name yet, but he still had one of the best seasons of any MLB in the league.
7) Terence Newman
Though he wasn't that impressive Sunday, T-New has been shutting niggas down since he came back from injury in Washington. We need that.
6) Marion Barber
I don't wanna make excuses (mainly because Tashard Choice filled in so great for the most part) but you can make an argument saying we got a lot worse once Marion got hurt. It probably wouldn't have matter against the Eagles, but imagine him in the 4th quarter in Pittsburgh.
5) Jay Ratliff
He's one of the best DTs this league has to offer and we're gonna need him to sculpt our defense around.
4) Terrell Owens
Its sad that some people are actually blaming the Eagles loss on T.O. (namely Cris Carter's long eye brow having ass). One receiver can't make a team lose by 38 points. Somebody tell Cris to call me when Terrell starts playing defense and special teams.
3) Jason Witten
Witten is a huge part of what we do offensively so it would be retarded to get rid of him no matter how good Bennett is.
2) DeMarcus Ware
Seriously, do I even need to elaborate??
1) Tony Romo
I battled with who should be #1, Tony or DeMarcus, but I ultimately landed on Romo because franchise QBs don't grow on trees. It took us about 6 or 7 seasons to find a replacement for Aikman and we don't need to go through that again. Lets not forget, this is just Romo's 2nd full season. It took Peyton Manning 96 starts before he won his first playoff game. Tony will be fine.

You Knew They'd Make This Up Eventually
Today on the 6pm SportsCenter this started off with a whole big elaborate story about alleged "friction" between T.O. and Romo. Ed Werder says T.O. is jealous of Romo and Witten's relationship and thinks they make up plays together or some shit like that. Oh goodness here we go. Werder also cites T.O., Roy Williams, and Patrick Crayton's "secret meeting" Monday with Jason Garrett as reason to believe this is the real thing, but I just think its mostly media hype.
Now, I'm not saying there is or isn't problem is their relationship, but you KNOW this is gonna get blown all out of proportions just like every T.O. story is. ESPN has been waiting to run this story line all year, I guess today was just a slow news day lol.
Welp, the only cure for this, soon to be full-swing, media circus is a win Sunday against the Giants. If we can pull out the W all will be well and this story will die, but if we lose all hell is gonna break lose. Can't wait to hear what Skip Bayless has to say about this tomorrow morning on 1 & 10! I hope they have someone like Stephen A. Smith or Rob Parker to debate with him about it.

Not Impressed
Well we didn't get off flying like I was hoping, but at least we're still in the game. I don't know how healthy Romo's finger is, but by the way Jason Garrett is calling plays I gotta think its still pretty banged up. I mean Romo couldn't even hand the ball off to Barber for the running plays.
T.O. has been extremely disappointing so far besides that one big catch that set up the Barber touch down. I'm glad Garrett opened up the play book a little bit for Romo on that last 80 yard drive so I'm encouraged for the 2nd half. Wish us luck!
