Romeo logged another 3 minutes tonight in USC's 73-46 blow out of Chattanooga. He only took one shot, a three, and missed it BUT made up for it with 1 strong assist. I actually read somewhere that he has a knee injury which is why he isn't playing much, but I dunno how much I believe that. I do know that he missed a large portion of his senior season to injury so maybe it is true. Either way I'll reserve judgment ;-).
Shame on me, I've been so busy living my life that I forgot Romeo was playing for USC this year! In honor of Romeo and his career I'm starting "Romeo Watch" where I'll update you all on what's going on in his college playing career. Excitement!
So far USC has only played 3 games, but here's Romeo's stat line so far:
Humble beginnings, but hopefully the action will pick up soon. He's only played 3 minutes (all in their first game), but that 1 rebound is encouraging. He's a freshman for goodness sake! lol.
Welp, more on Romeo's career on the next Romeo Watch (hey, am I the only one surprised to find out his name isn't really Romeo?? Everyone calls him Romeo so why didn't P just name his that?? Weird...).
Y'all remember this or am I the only one?? Honestly, I had forgotten about it myself until I went on ESPN.com tonight and saw "Hold the Mayo: Mercer spoils debut of USC frosh" first on the top stories list (BTW what's a frosh??). Now, I clicked it to see how much O.J. Mayo scored, but as soon as I got to the boxscores I thought to see if Romeo was on there. Guess what?? No where to be found!
Then I thought maybe they only listed the players who played in the game (since I only saw 9 players listed for the Trojans) so I went to USC.edu to investigate and found the full roster of 15 in which Romeo STILL wasn't a part of. I dunno, maybe he does go to USC, but one thing is for sure: he aint make the team lol.
