Ryan Mathews Out 4-6 Weeks With Broken Collarbone

There were already major questions about Ryan Mathews' durability, and the fact that he broken his collarbone on his first carry of the first preseason game certainly won't quiet that noise. And while this sucks for Mathews, it is awesome news for fantasy owners because he was going in the early portions of the 2nd round in most leagues, but this injury will drop him to the 4th or 5th. I, for one, feel much safer taking an injury-prone lead back there, oppose to 12th or overall, or wherever he'd go in the 2nd round.

Speaking of injuries that affect fantasy football, Michael Vick gave folks a scare last night when he accidently slammer his hand against his center's helmet and hurt his thumb. X-rays were negative and Vick said he felt much better after the game, so hopefully he'll be ready for the season. Wait, what am I saying? I'm a Cowboy fan, I hope his thumb falls off!
