Ma$e - Best I Ever Had (Remix)

Wow, where did this come from?? I gotta thank my nigga BAWSE for putting me up on game because I really didn't believe him when he told me lol.

Anyway, this wasn't good at all! From the poor blending to the poor rapping. Ma$e should just keep doing whatever it is that he does because this rap shit is soooo over for him.

Random News Shit

1) Jay-Z Confirms Roc Nation Deals With Sony, Atlantic
That deal that was 95% done back in May is now finalized and Jay-Z will be bringing his Roc Nation imprint to Sony. However, Jay's new album Blueprint 3 will be distributed by Atlantic records. Get it?? Roc Nation to Sony, BP3 to Atlantic.

And still I could care less, I'm just ready for the freakin' album!

2) Michael Jackson Public Viewing At Neverland Set For Friday
This is gonna be HUGE!

3) Vibe Magazine Shuts Down

This Week In Flops 6/30/09

I feel bad for both of these guys because Michael Jackson is definitely gonna mess up both of their sales. Oh well lets get to it.

I listened to this album yesterday and its actually not bad. There was a bit too many features for my liking, but Ace held shit down for Broward County. With the big MJ sales boost I'm think Ace is gonna land somewhere in the 30-60k range.

Looks like my nigga Maino is falling victim to poor marketing. Is Atlantic even pushing his single anymore?? Shit is fucked up so don't expect too much from this album as far as numbers are concerned. Look for it to fall somewhere in the 20-45k range.

Drake Sabotages Own Career, Signs With Young Money

Drake
Before I touch on the epic failure that is Drake signing to Young Money, I just acknowledge that Drake actually tore his ACL (never knew rapping and singing could be so tough on the knees for a non-female artist lol) which is why he was sitting down during the performance at the BET Awards (despite walking the red carpet with no assistance). Sorry to Drake and all his fans for making fun of him sitting down... when all along I should've been making fun of them not bringing his ass out in a wheelchair! I mean it was right there! They did the "Baby Boy" reunion, why not re-live Degrassi and let him reprise his role as Wheelchair Jimmy?? Missed opportunity by BET.

Anyway, this is a sad day for all Drake fans as his "bidding war" has ended with him officially signing with Young Money Entertainment. Can I get a moment of silence for his rap career please.

...

Thank you.

How dumb is this?? You constantly shout Young Money out in your raps, go back and forth between rapping like yourself and rapping like Lil Wayne, go out of your way to tell people you're not signed to the label, only to later sign with them in the end after a so called bidding war. Retarded. I guess you can say him saying he wasn't signed to them was a negotiation tool, but it really doesn't work the same when you're actively recording, performing, and hanging with the owner like a signed act.

I just don't see how that would help negotiations because on one end you have Young Money who you're hanging with, out on the road with, and always shouting out 3 or 4 times per rap. What part of that would give them any reason to believe you'd actually sign elsewhere?? Then on the other end, how much money is label B gonna put up to pry you away from the place you seem so happy with and are mostly likely gonna continue to shout out on records instead of label B?? Its like Lamar Odom becoming a free agent, but admitting he only wants to live on the beach. There's only 3 teams that play on the beach, one of which is his current employer. That essentially kills his threat of actually leaving because he's not gonna leave L.A. to live in Minnesota or Washington or Utah or whoever would wanna offer him a deal.

And of course all of that pales in comparison to knowingly signing your career away by being under the Cash Money/Young Money umbrella. He might as well had signed with No Limit, Bad Boy, Ruff Ryders, or any other label that's not going anywhere or releasing albums. Nah, scratch Bad Boy because getting an album out isn't the problem, getting the 2nd album out with any support from the label is the problem lol. Either way, signing to a label that has an owner that's reluctant to put that stamp on his own album probably isn't a good sign. Matter of fact, that's probably a worse sign than that same label existing since 2005 and only releasing 2 albums (both of which came out on the same day). Lets just say the prospects aren't that good.

So now the question is this: Will Thank Me Later ever drop, or will it join the likes of Back To The Future, Nacirema Dream, Statlanta, and countless other debut albums that were never released??

My answer is that I hope so, but I'm not holding my breath. Look, Drake is immensely talented and his buzz is nothing less than remarkable right now, but with him just starting recording on his debut album June 1st (who knows what the fuck he was doing before then), I'm not seeing him dropping this year. Maybe if the album was almost complete, but you can't expect the buzz from Best I Ever Had to last from now until December (which is when the album is projected to drop). Add that to the Young Money track record of not releasing albums and I'm not feeling confident about the situation.

Welp, the only people that really know are the ones at Young Money. Maybe they're willing to change there ways and try to capitalize on the biggest buzz in Hip-Hop since The Game in 2004. Again, I hope so, but I'm not holding my breath.

(Side note: I hope this doesn't come off like I don't like Drake because I've become a big fan since my homegirl forced me to listen to So Far Gone in March. I'm just really disappointed in the decision to sign with a label that doesn't drop album.)

Yao's Latest Foot Injury Could End His Career

Yao!
Last week we learned that Yao Ming's hairline fracture in his foot was not healing and he was out indefinitely. Now we're learning that the injury has actually gotten worse since the playoffs and Yao could miss the entire 2009-2010 season or even possibly be forced to retire.

Its no secret that huge bodies like Yao's weren't meant to play 82 games plus the playoffs and once they break down they're hard to build back up. I'm thinking he pushed it a bit too much by coming back to play in the Olympics last summer when his foot couldn't handle it. Now the question looms, what do you do with Yao Ming?? Do you wait and let him rehab or try to move in another direction?? I honestly don't know, but the Rockets better figure it out quick.

A Few Thoughts On The BET Awards '09

Foxx!!
Okay, no time for introductions and foolery because this might run long (I mean Don Cornelius forgetting he was on stage long BUT we'll get into that in just a minute).

Aight, lets start with the good (it'll be much quicker):

I loved the Jamie Foxx, Beat It dance intro from the tight ass Michael Jackson outfit to the Smooth Criminal lean assisted by the chick holding him up by the chest. Nice touch. Foxx's opening monologue was okay, I had already heard that story on Friday's episode of Foxxhole Radio so it didn't do anything for me but I was rolling when he tried to Moonwalk and down near busted his ass lol. Foxx was a great host.

Good thing #2 was Ne-Yo singing Lady In My Life. Lovely cover, well besides seeing Ne-Yo hatless. Jamie's Blame It performance was pretty hot but I wish Snoop started crippin' when he came out. Travis Barker was a nice touch too and at that point BET broke a record for most white people at a BET Awards.

The next good thing to happen was the D.O.A. performance by Jay-Z. That really kicked the show up a notch because shit was going pretty bad. Question: Why was Beyonce acting like she didn't know Jay was there?? Y'all came in the same limo girl lol.

I also liked the Tevin Campbell, Tyrese, Trey Songz tribute to the O'Jays. Then I loved Eddie Levert saying "snow was falling, when was blowin', people was dancing' and shit" live on TV... and then getting his hand stuck in the award lol. The O'Jays' actual performance was pretty dope too. The funniest part was when they were jammin' and Soulja Boy was standing there like he never heard of these niggas in his life.

Good moments are running low at this point and I must say next that I was loving Maxwell singing Pretty Wings! That boy is bad! And of course I loved how they closed the show out with Janet speaking for the first time since Michael passed and then Jamie and Ne-Yo sang I'll Be There for the most touching moment of the night.

Okay, now that we got that out of the way, lets get to all the bad shit that happened.

First off I gotta touch on the constant failed attempts at censorship. I don't know who was running the bleeper, but that nigga most likely doesn't have a job today. He/She literally missed every bleep by at least a second or 2 (Ex. on Jeremih's Birthday Sex he/she was trying to bleep out sex but was late and ended up just bleeping out "birthday" so it sounded like this: "Birthday sex...sex...sex...sex"). Not to mention that person didn't even make an attempt at bleeping Eddie Levert. I mean, I wasn't there but I saw that shit coming from the beginning of the sentence (and shit). Oh yeah, and I KNOW Wayne isn't cussin' THAT much in Every Girl's 1st verse. It was somewhat vulgar (from what I remember, I actually flip it whenever it comes on) but they had it sounding like the 2Pac's Still Ballin' radio edit (and shit).

I appreciated New Edition all coming together to do a tribute for Michael Jackson BUT they probably should've left Bobby Brown doing...um, what ever it is that Bobby Brown does. I mean it was one thing for me not to understand what he was saying, but that tongue thing he did was just damn disrespectful (and shit).

Other terrible performances included the following: Keri Hilson (I love Keri but that wasn't great), Soulja Boy (I've never heard that song all the way through before last night and never realized there were only about 8 more lyrics to be said in it after the first hook), Mary Mary (Lord forgive me, but that song was Blame It with gospel lyrics. Same beat, same candence), and Ciara (all the MJ songs and she landed on We Are The World??).

The final terrible performance was so bad it needed a paragraph of its own. That performance was given by Drake, Lil Wayne, Baby, and some other niggas. First off, not only did Drake not even make an attempt to sing the Best I Ever Had hook, but he also sat through his whole set. That's only cool if you're singing R&B, he was rapping R&B. Then Wayne comes out for Every Girl and Drake continues to sit. To make matters worse, a gang of little under-aged girls come out and dance around Drake as Wayne spits "I wish I could love every girl in the world, I wish could could love every girl in the world" (Yeah they changed "fuck" to "love" but the nigga with the bleeper tried to bleep it anyway...unsuccessfully of course lol). Classy. Oh, and how bad do you feel for the other niggas performing?? I mean BET literally kept the camera on Wayne and Drake throughout everyone else's verse (by the way, where was Jae Millz?? Was he too busy not dropping Back To The Future??). Nothing was better than Lil Wayne saying, "R.I.P. Michael Jackson (2 seconds pass) I'm always strapped when I'm in the club." Nothing says rest in peace like letting niggas know you're strapped and ready to shot. It was just really bad and I'm glad this wasn't the final performance (and shit).

Back to other terrible things that weren't performances, how wack was it that they were rushing through the awards and giving them out 2 at a time?? Its the BET AWARDS, we couldn't find time to at least announce who was nominated (and shit)?? I think there would've been plenty of time if we cut some of the useless performances I mentioned above (mainly Keri, Mary Mary, and Drake/Wayne).

Oh yeah, they also could've saved time had Don Cornelius never taken the stage. What the fuck was that?? Nobody thought it'd be a good idea to start playing him off the stage with music or cutting his mic?? I know he's Don Cornelius but come on now, nigga was up there sounding senile as shit (and shit).

Here's a short list of things you could've started and completed during the time Don was on the stage:

-Run to the store
-Throw something on the grill
-Sown an American flag
-Watch Forrest Gump
-Watch the entire 2009 BET Awards

Long story short, he was up there for a long ass time (makes you wonder how retarded his ex-wife was that she let him beat her ass last year). Though I must admit, I can't wait to hear the inevitable "my money/gun/dick/ is longer than a Don Cornelius speech" punchline in a rap song coming soon lol.

The "Baby Boy" reunion was dope except for these 2 things: 1) Ving Rhames being drunk and trying to start a "Michael Jackson is guns" chant and 2) Snoop not coming out in a wife beater. You can't tell me the most memorable part in "Baby Boy" wasn't laughing at Snoop's bony body. You just can't.

And last, but not least, does Debra Lee have to speak at every BET Awards?? Does MTV's COO come out and speak at the VMAs?? Does the COO of the Recording Academy come out and speak at the Grammys?? Okay, so why does she make a space for herself every years?? Also, why didn't they bring up Alicia Keys and Wyclef at the same time?? Another way they could've saved time had they skipped over separate speeches.

Overall, the 2009 BET Awards were more so a mess than anything else. A lot of people are blaming it on them revamping the show to make it a Michael Jackson tribute, but if you sit and watch the show again you'll realize basically everything they wanted to do for MJ went on without a hitch while they shit they should've had in order was fucked up (Keri, censoring, Don Cornelius, etc.). This show left much to be desired and when it was all over I was feeling more like ?uestlove ("I wish BET died and MJ did a tribute to them") than anything else.

But guess what?? I'd do it all again because it brought me so much joy and laughter (intentionally and unintentionally).

Random News Shit: Michael Jackson Edition

http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/famecrawler/2008/02/23-End/michael-jackson-neverland-foreclosure.jpg
We've all heard all the news about the autopsy and the kids and the doctor and all that, but lets go to some others things that may be flying under the radar.

1) MJ To Make Billboard History One Last Time
I predicted this on Facebook Thursday shortly after Mike passed, but the #1 album next week will be one of Michael Jackson music. I didn't know which one it was gonna be, but I was positive that there would be some MJ set reigning atop the 200 this coming Thursday. Yeah, I know, not one of my boldest prediction, but I knew what I was talking about.

Anyway, as of right now its looking like its gonna be either Number Ones or The Essential Michael Jackson, but there's still a day left before SoundScan stops recording numbers for this upcoming week.

2) BET Awards Get 'Total Overhaul' To Honor MJ
I can't wait to see this show! I don't know if I ever felt that way about a BET Awards before. I mean I watch them every year regardless, but I'm actually hyped to see what's gonna happen. Plus, I know my boy Foxx is gonna hold Mike down. This will EASILY be the highest rated BET Awards in the history of the BET Awards. People around the world will be watching this. Some of which probably don't even know what the hell BET is lol. Its all good though because its all for Mike.

3) TIME Magazine To Release Special Commemorative Issue For MJ
Everybody is trying to cash in. I ain't gonna lie, I'm gonna get my issue as soon as it touches down at Publix! I missed out on my President Obama newspaper and I refuse to lose again.

4) LaToya Jackson Scene Removed From 'Bruno'
Wow, that was very respectful. I'm honestly shocked because I though Sacha had no boundaries. This is a very classy move and if I wasn't going to see "Bruno" before, I'm DEFINITELY going to see it now.

Clipse - Eyes On Me/I'm Good

Clipse
Two tracks off Til The Casket Drops which is due this fall.

Did they seriously pay Keri Hilson to do that little bitty 15 seconds of singing?? I hope not. Matter of fact, I pray not. This shit is definitely jammin' though and really didn't need that little blip on the radar (though it did sound good too). I'm liking what I'm hearing from the Clipse!

Yeah I know, this track has been out for a week or so now BUT I never posted it so I'm trying to make up for that now. Forgiven?? I hope so but either way this shit is hot so it really doesn't matter.

On another note, this sounds so familiar! I think I heard Jeezy or somebody else spit over this beat or something very similar. I know I'm not going crazy but I'm too lazy to research it right now lol.

A bit too soon for this song after the death of Michael Jackson?? Yeah, probably.

I see 50 is really trying to bring it back to the hardcore AND it doesn't sound like he's forcing it like he was on some of the tracks on War Angel LP.

Question: Is it too little too late??

Maybe. Definitely maybe.

Shaq To Rock No. 33 In Cleveland

Shaq!
As of right now, the Diesel is planning on going back to his college days and wear the number 33 when he suits up for the LeBron next season. That's right, soon that blank space will be filled by the double-3's. I guess he's gonna try to channel his old LSU self, but its still TBD on how that's gonna turn out. I mean, he couldn't just make Joe Smith give up that #32 jersey?? Joe probably won't even be on the roster opening night so it shouldn't be too hard lol.

Last but not least, have we come up with a new Cleveland-based nickname for Shaq yet?? "The Big Erie" doesn't do anything for me so its gonna have to be something associated with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009)

R.I.P.
Man, man, man. I've just been taking it all in and I still don't know where to start. This truly feels like I lost a family member. I don't think a lot of people realized the impact Michael had on so many people's lives until today. I just feel so sad. I mean, I've been celebrating also but sadness always creeps up on me because I could not even begin to imagine what it was like to be Michael Jackson. There has never been, and will never be someone as famous as Michael Jackson. I don't think the ability to reach that kinda status even exists in 2009. Just think about our biggest stars today, no disrespect to any of them, but they're not even close to that kinda fame. Not Britney, not Eminem, not Justin Timberlake, not Usher, not Beyonce, not Jay-Z. Nobody is even close to being as famous as Michael Jackson.

The only person who I think has even gotten a glimpse of that kind of worldwide popularity and approval is President Barack Obama, and even still, he's only been in that spotlight for just over a year now. Michael had been at the absolute top for nearly 30 years! Take a second to marinate on that, he's been famous since he was little boy and was at the zenith of music since the freaking 1980s! There was no place higher to be than where Michael was. No one reached it before him and no one will reach it after him. I'd NEVER in a trillion years want to be THAT famous.

But yet and still, all the money, all the fame, all the those records sold, all those Grammys won, all those souls touched, none of it even matters now because he's gone and he's not coming back.

Damn, just think about how huge his funeral is gonna be?? Its gonna be like inauguration day all over again! Like my homie Andy said, "Don't plan no black shit on that day because we ain't coming." Yeah, Michael means THAT much to so many people. You can think what you want about him, but unless you were born past like 1993, MJ has made an impact on you in some way.

You know what?? I actually know why I feel so bad about Michael passing, its because we never truly appreciated him while he was here. We talked about him, we made fun of him, we laughed at him when all he wanted was to be happy and make others happy. Can you think of one instance of hearing about Michael being mean to anyone?? Think about it, he was the most famous person in the world, the most publicly ridiculed, and had no idea who he could trust but yet he remained kind-hearted throughout. Its amazing when you think about it. All he wanted was to be happy and be left alone, but we failed him by making him out as some kind of freak.

And as weird as it may sound, I actually understand why Mike would have rather been around children. I do not and never did believe he molested those kids. Those were just the only people who could look beyond everything and not judge him. He didn't have to worry about kids trying to trick him out of money or them being dishonest and having other intentions for being around him. It was that innocence only children have that he gravetated to since all everyone else wanted to do was take from him. So yeah, I get it.

Lastly, I just wanted to mention how much Michael did for people that is completely overlooked. Not only with his music, but with all the money he has given to charities over his lifetime and all the time he gave. He just wanted to be happy, and we wouldn't let him. We truly failed him.

Oh yeah, and to anybody who thinks Michael was broke, get real. I don't care how much money he spent, he owned the right to the Beatles catalog and there is no price tag that can be put on that.

Mike was just the baddest, coldest man to ever do it. There will NEVER be another Micheal Jackson. Give people their roses while they're still alive to smell them. Rest in peace Michael, you will be missed sorely.

This is a beautiful song. I'm not even mad at Chris Brown singing on this. Do I wish somebody else was singing it?? Yes, but I'm not mad at him. Life is so short and we all make mistakes. Nobody is perfect.

50 Cent - Respect It Or Check It/Where Are You

Here's 2 new joints from 50 Cent's new mixtape Forever King (previously known as Sincerely Southside Pt. 2) coming next Friday, July 3rd.

Pretty decent, I ain't mad at Fif for this one. The rap flow isn't as simplistic as some of his other recent music and that's always welcomed because I hate that. I like the Michael Jackson shout out at the end too.

Speaking of MJ, here's Where Are You where 50 spits over a sample of the Jackson 5's I Wanna Be Where You Are.

Well I guess I spoke too soon because 50 went right back to the simple rhyme cadence on this one. I still like it though because I LOVE this Jackson 5 song! I loved the original, I loved it when JD sampled it on the Drumline soundtrack, I liked it when The Game and Tyrese sampled it on YouKnowWhatItIs Vol. 4, I loved it when my boy Smiley sampled it. Its just a good ass record. Rest in peace Michael.

This is a good record BUT I think it would've been better if Mya was still 19 and not 29. At this point in her career she should be making more grown up music than this. This song is ever too young for Ciara to be singing and she's only 23. I could still see this working as a single, but I think Mya is gonna have to come with something more age-appropriate.

Random News Shit: NBA Edition

Vince
1) Magic Land Vince Carter From Nets For Alston, Lee
At first I thought this didn't make sense, but then I remembered Hedo was opting out of his contract, and I'm guessing Orlando is expect him to come back. Then again, with Carter's contract, I don't think they can afford to bring Hedo back. Its a shame they had to give up Courtney Lee though, he had tons of potential and Vince Carter is semi-washed up. The Magic just made themselves a lot more beatable because 2009 Vince Carter is not 2009 Hedo Turkoglu.

2) Yao Ming's Foot Not Healing, Out Indefinitely
This is HUGE! What if the foot never heals and he has to retire?? That would be devastating to the Rockets franchise, especially with T-Mac on his last limbs in the league. Remember, this is the same foot that Yao has hurt the past few seasons so it not healing is definitely a bad sign. Good luck to Yao.

3) Rondo's Agent Strikes Back At Ainge
Yeah I agree, Danny Ainge should pick his words wisely because he's literally one Kevin McHale gift away from being fired. It makes no sense to disrespect one of the best players on your team in public. None whatsoever.

4) Darko Headed To The Knicks
Darko Milicic will be asked to start over again as he's been shipped off to the Knicks for Quentin Richarson and some cash considerations. We'll see if he can work in D'Antoni's system...but probably not. He's Darko! lol.

A Few Thoughts On The NBA Draft

NBA Draft Class of '09
Obviously I was too busy celebrating Michael Jackson's legacy to pay much attention to the NBA Draft.

First off, I see Blake Griffin didn't heed Bill Simmons advice and run for the hills and away from the Clippers. That's a decision he'll regret in a few years. Hasheem Thabeet too. Thabeet is destined to be Stromile Swift 2.0 lol.

Anyway, how does Ricky Rubio fall to #5?? Nobody needed a super-talented point guard?? Well Minnesota needed just that. In fact, they needed it so much that they picked a 2nd point guard after him in Jonny Flynn...and then a 3rd in Ty Lawson with the 18th pick (though they traded Lawson to Denver for a future pick). Not choosing Bill Simmons is working out great for the T'Wolves lol.

The Knicks can pretty much say goodbye to ANY chance that LeBron might come there to play in 2010 when they weren't able to get Stephen Curry at #8. Golden State wisely choose him 7th overall. Going back to the T'Wolves, if they were gonna picked 2 PGs back-to-back wouldn't it have made sense of the 2nd one to be Steph Curry?? Rubio can't shoot but he's a great passer and floor general and you could move Curry to SG and have him be like Iverson in '00-'01. But that would've made too much sense for Minny and they took two players that can't play at the same time lol.

I gotta feel bad for Jordan Hill because 1) he's going to the Knicks, 2) he got booed something crazy last night, and 3) he's going to the Knicks! Add Brandon Jennings to the list of players I feel bad for too because he goes from playing in L.A. to playing in Rome to playing in Milwaukee. Tough break nigga lol.

I don't care to go any further because any draft that has Tyler Hansbrough going 13th overall is obviously not worth the words. No disrespect to him, but if he's the 13th best player in your NBA draft class, that's not saying much. Then again, with MJ passing, it was appropriate that we had a weak draft class because now I don't feel bad for missing the draft lol.

B.o.B and/or Bobby Ray - Wonderland

B.o.B, or Bobby Ray, or whatever he's going by now dropped his new mixtape B.o.B vs. Bobby Ray the other day. Its pretty dope besides the wack features from Big Kuntry and OJ Da Juiceman, but this track Wonderland stood out to me the most. Check it out:

Very incredible if you ask me. Everyone compares him to Andre 3000, but this is more Cee-Lo inspired if you ask me. Actually most of the songs on the Bobby Ray side of the mixtape sound more like Cee-Lo than Three Stacks.

Anyway, this is just one of the hot songs on the mixtape. Click here to download the mixtape if you don't have it yet.

Open Letter To Blake Griffin

Poor Blake
With the NBA Draft tonight at 8pm on ESPN and the Los Angeles Clippers planning to take Blake Griffin with the #1 pick, Bill Simmons, a Clippers season ticket holder, thought it would be nice to write the kid a letter. The theme of the letter: RUN, BLAKE, RUN!!!

The article chronicles the Clippers (possibly) cursed past from 1976-2009. Check out this excerpt:

Since 1976, the Clippers have drafted only one player who made an All-Star team as a Clipper: Danny Manning in 1993 and 1994. Think about that for a second. It's impossible. It's absolutely true. They made 38 first-round picks since 1980; you will be No. 39. They earned a top-10 pick 23 times since the '76 draft; of those 23 times, 12 were in the top four and three were No. 1 overall. They failed to turn the first 21 chances into a Hall of Famer, borderline Hall of Famer or perennial All-Star. The 22nd chance was Gordon; the 23rd chance is you. The odds are against both of you. Via Open Letter To Blake Griffin by Bill Simmons.

The sad truth. This is really an excellent piece of work by the Sports Guy so I'd suggest checking it out if you're into hoops. Its a long read, but its worth it.

'Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen' Breaks Wednesday Box-Office Record

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen
With $60.6 million grossed in one day, "Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen" has officially broken Harry Potter's previous record of $44.2 million in an opening day. That is fuckin' crazy BUT definitely not surprising.

Damn, I wish I went to go see "Transformers" last night like I had planned! I was getting pissed the fuck off with all the Facebook status updates talking about how awesome it was. It almost drove me mad! The NBA Draft is tonight, but I'd definitely going Friday. No question!

The Game Tries Out Xbox's Project Natal

This shit is so gangsta! I'm still shocked that this is even gonna exist! I'm not sure how sports games like Madden and NBA Live are gonna work out with Project Natal though. I mean, that just sounds like a lot of work. Too much fuckin' work for a video game. Not to mention how will it know the distance or power in your shot or throws?? I'd be interested in finding that out.

Anyway, how much do you think this thing is gonna cost?? If Xbox 360 was like $400 and PS3 was like $600, this Project Natal thing has to cross the $1,000 mark, right?? I think the only way I'm playing it is at Toys R Us lol.

The Roots Performance From Jimmy Fallon Last Night

Very dope, well at least when performed live. I'm interested in seeing how the studio version will sound. It may be hot, but I just don't see how it could be as hot as that live performance was. And that's not a bad thing because that performance was top-notch! Welp, mp3 coming soon!

Suns Trade Shaq To The LeBrons

Lets take a look at the trade specifics before I get into my opinion on it:

So the the LeBrons are getting Shaq and sending Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic's expiring contract to Phoenix along with the #46 overall pick in this year's draft and $500,000 in cash.

Okay, now put the spotlight back on me. Though this is actually not a bad deal for either team, it will NOT work for the simple fact that it doesn't help them beat the Magic. Hell, I'm not even sure if it helps them beat the Celtics (but lets hold off on them since we don't know about 1) KG's knee and 2) if Rondo and Ray-Ray will be there next season). If the goal is winning a title, this trade doesn't help them get passed the Magic. How does Shaq help you control 'Shard and Hedo?? The LeBrons aren't going anywhere if 'Shard and Hedo are at the 3-point line shooting wide open J's like they were in the Eastern Finals.

I don't think its physically possible for LeBron to play any better than he did this season. The only thing he could improve on is not taking all those long jumpers that earned him his "LeBrick James" title from Skip Bayless (speaking of Skip, damn I'm pissed off that Wimbledon is on and we can't get his reaction to this trade or T.O. getting cursed out on "Superstars" Monday). Shaq in the post clogging the lane is just gonna force LeBron to take more bad jumpers and not drive the ball to the hoop, which he's incredible at.

I mean, maybe if this was a few years back it would've worked, but not now. Not at 37. Don't get me wrong, Shaq had a nice little season last year, but 18 and 8 isn't the dominance in the low post that forced teams to make adjustments in the past. Like Bill Simmons said, "
Cleveland's trade for Shaq was like someone buying homeowner's insurance 4 weeks after losing everything in a house robbery."And also, what do you do with Big Z?? Them on the floor at the same time would be an absolute disaster! I think they have to trade Z and someone else for another piece. They just have to.

The other part of this deal that's a problem for me is that it doesn't really help LeBron stay in Cleveland when he's a free agent after next season. Shaq is NOT bringing a title to Cleveland so this is really a one-year plan. They should have been building a long term team around LeBron all this time. I guess they can make a run at Chris Bosh after Shaq walks, but is Bosh gonna wanna live in Cleveland or down on South Beach?? I mean they'll have the money to pay him, but so will the Heat when they shed Jermaine O'Neal's contract next year. I know if I was playing in Toronto I'd much rather move to Miami than Cleveland. No question. Not even close.

Aight now the only thing left to be determined is what will Shaq's new Cleveland-based nickname be?? It'll definitely have something to do with either Lake Erie or the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I guess we'll have to stay glued to his Twitter account to find out.

Oh yeah, and If you thought Kobe/LeBron was overhyped this past season, add Shaq to the equation and you ain't seen shit yet.

Real World Casting Crew Disappoints Again

The new Real World Cancun starts tonight and I don't even know if I'm gonna watch it. Besides that fact that I might be busy watching Transformers 2, the casting crew has failed us again! One black person?? Seriously MTV, one fuckin' black person?? You are casting 8 people now, and all you could find was ONE black person?? Ridiculous!

Obviously the good folks on the Real World casting staff hasn't yet realized that all their best seasons (Back to New York, Las Vegas, Denver, etc.) had multiple black people and all their wack seasons (Paris, Sydney, Brooklyn, etc.) had either one or none. What more evidence do they need?? Oh well, I guess I'm outgrowing the Real World anyway so maybe this is a good thing.

Maxwell - Stop The World

Here's a couple tracks off the new Maxwell album BLACKsummers night which is dropping July 7th. Besides it having only 9 songs, I can't wait!

Very sexy! Makes me wanna stop everything I'm doing and make love lol. It also song reminds me of this purple CD I used to have with all love making music on it. It was so glorious! The combination of the music and the person I was with made an experience that is simply beyond words. I don't know what ever happened to that CD, but I might need to make a part 2. Oh, and find a new lover because I was an idiot and let her leave my life when she should probably be wearing my wedding ring by now. Oh well, that's life.

Anyway, I got another Maxwell track for ya after the jump.

Another good one. I feel pissed off that I've already heard 33% of the album though lol.

Best I Ever Had Reaches #1 On R&B/Hip-Hop Chart

I just noticed this today, but Drake's Best I Ever Had actually made it to #1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It jumped Keri Hilson's Knock You Down to take over the top seat. I gotta wonder what this is gonna do for the song on the big boy charts when they're released tomorrow. Its at #27 right now, but reached a high of #18 on the Hot 100, but I'm think he'll land somewhere in the top 10 this week. I don't know if he'll break the top 5, but he should definitely make it into the top 15 in the worst case scenario. Welp we shall see.

50 Cent - I'll Do Anything

Its funny they dropped this video last night because I spent most of the late afternoon/early night singing the hook in my head. I don't even know why either because I hadn't even listened to the War Angel LP mixtape that day lol.

Anyway, that one chick in this video is NICE! I mean both of them were nice, but the one not wearing the black dress had crazy body! I would've wanted to be in this video just to stand next to her... and to steal that fresh ass Gucci jacket 50 on.

Heavier Metal: Cowboys O-Linemen Sign Record Deal

Dallas Cowboys offensive linemen Leonard Davis, Marc Colombo, and Cory Procter are in a heavy metal band together called Free Reign with one other random dude and have now signed a record deal. They signed with Australia's Riot Entertainment and will drop their debut album this fall. I wonder how that's gonna work out seeing they have this minor thing called the "NFL regular season" going on at the same time.

Anyway, I remember hearing about them being a band back in like May when Marc and Cory appeared on ESPN2's First Take. That video is placed above if you wanna check out the appearance. I'll be busy over here in the corner worry about the upcoming season.

Random News Shit: NBA Wheelin' & Dealin' Edition

Milwaukee Bucks' Richard Jefferson reacts during the second half of an NBA basketball game against the San Antonio Spurs, Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, in Milwaukee. The Bucks won 82-78.
1) Four Player Trade Lands Jefferson With Spurs
How happy is Richard Jefferson today?? Yesterday he's on a Milwaukee Bucks who are going nowhere, and today he's on the San Antonio Spurs and most likely will be back contending for a title. That's how sports work these days.

Now officially the trade sends Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas, and Fabricio Oberto to the Bucks for Jefferson. It definitely makes sense for the Spurs but I guess it makes sense for the Bucks too depending on how you look at it. Currently I'm unable to look at from any positive standpoint. You bring out 3 old guys so you won't be any good next season. You got expiring contracts, but you're just making room to re-sign Charlie Villanueva or Ramon Sessions next year (yipidido!) because no free agents wants to live in Milwaukee.

2) Foye & Miller Headed To Wiz
Here's the trade: The Washington Wizards acquire Randy Foye and Mike Miller and send the #5 pick in Thursday's draft along with Oleksiy Pecherov, Etan Thomas and Darius Songaila to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Now the Wolves have the #5 and #6 picks in the draft BUT the bad news is this isn't that great of a draft class.

TNT's David Aldridge is reporting that they're possibly trying to package both of those picks to move up and take Spanish guard Ricky Rubio 2nd overall. Who knows, but I like Rubio with the T'Wolves a lot more if they wouldn't have traded O.J. Mayo on draft day last year. Who's running with Rubio on the fast break on this team?? All their other good players are big men. Then again, this type of combo did work out for the Spurs with a great big man (Tim Duncan) and non-shooting, incredible passing point guard (Tony Parker). Oh well, we'll see if they can even pull this off.

3) Boston Shopping Rondo and Allen??
This all spawned from a Yahoo! Sports report that reportedly had Boston trying to send Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen to Detroit for Rip Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, and Rodney Stuckey. A deal in which Joe Dumars and the Pistons turned down. If the rumors are true I gotta wonder why in the hell would you try to trade Rondo?? With KG out, he was arguably their best in the playoffs. I mean the guy was a triple-double waiting to happen. Something is going on in Boston that we don't know about but its very strange.

Damn, Does ANYONE Like T.O.??

Fuck all that other shit though, why don't these kinda things happen more often?? You know there is tons and tons of this kinda footage sitting on computers of all these reality show editors and producers so why don't videos like this surface more often?? I know I'd definitely love to see some of that hidden footage from Real World. Well, when they were actually good that is (more on Real World's fail later).

Kobe & The Lakers On Jimmy Kimmel

This is DEFINITELY worth watching. Trust me lol.

LMAO@ DJ Mbenga's face.
LMAO@ Kobe initially not knowing DJ Mbenga's name.
LMAO@ Adam Morrison being there.
LMAO@ Adam Morrison being high while being there.

Good stuff! Oh, and did you hear the breaking news?? Kobe said Lamar Odom is staying in L.A. next season. That's probably true though because as Bill Simmons often reminds his readers, in an interview Odom said he doesn't want to NOT live on the beach so that means he's either gonna play for the Lakers, Clippers, or Heat seeing they are the only teams that play on the beach. Sadly, Trevor Ariza is probably that one that's gonna be gone because I don't know if the Lakers can afford to keep him and Lamar.

Ace Hood - Champion (feat. Rick Ross & Jazmine Sullivan) Video

Another motivational type song, but I like this one better than Overtime (speaking of that song, they sure did abandoned that train fast lol). Jasmine Sullivan over sang the hook a tad but I think its still a hot song overall. The video is cool too. I like that he took it all the way gutta and showed the preparation of a fried bologna sandwich! Now THAT'S gutta! lol.

Interestingly enough his new album Ruthless is still due to drop next Tuesday the 30th. Who knows, I might cop. I gotta support hometeam and I'm starting to become a fan of Ace because his The Preview mixtape was HOT! Speaking of that mixtape, he hooked up with Jordan Towers to shoot a video for Bout Me with Ball Greezy and its after the jump.

I fuck with this right here! I see Ball Greezy trying to bring back that 1994 Kid from from House Party 3 "hole in the hat for my dreads" look. I remember my cousins used to do that shit lol. I still fuck with Greez though. I also like that Ace reached out to Young A.C. and put him in the video (even though he's just in the background not doing much). I'm telling you, a lot of people I talked to when Ace first came out automatically thought he was Young A.C. because he was MUCH more known in the streets at the time. Its all good now though.

No Jail Time For Chris Brown

I know everyone has heard by now, but Chris "Beat-a-bitch" Brown copped a plea deal and will do 180 days of community service and 5 year probation. Fuck! Now we'll be subjected to hearing more of his shitty, speech impediment laced music sooner than I thought. Like Jamie Foxx would say, "Bitch! I don't need it."

I'm thinking though, would Chris been able to come back easier if he actually went to jail?? He could've become a sympathetic figure of sorts (well at least for some of the idiot people who were his fans in the first place despite his horrendous music) and flipped that into a come back. Who knows what's gonna happen now, but I still say his career is over regardless.

Wow, I never thought I'd see Kanye West in a video that involved shell casings on the ground lol. Yeah, I know there was a microphone at the end and it was supposed to mean they killed the mic, but Kanye and bullets just seem weird in the same video lol.
