NFL Winners & Losers: Divisional Round

Cowboys @ Vikings
1) Cowboys (1-0) @ Vikings (0-0)
Y'all know I've been watching every piece of coverage on this game that I possibly could over the past week, you know what?? I'm pissed off! No, not because my team is being disrespected, but because now everyone is on our dick. Beating the Eagles down like that in back-to-back weeks could turn out to be a gift and a curse because our bandwagon is on super swoll right now! I'm talking Mark MacGwire in '98, and that's hardly ever a good thing. In fact, its such a bad thing that I'm more concerned about it than the fact that Minnesota is 8-0 at home this year (even though they were a missed FG and last second Favre miracle from being 6-2).

All this newfound support overshadows the fact that Brett Favre has never beaten the Cowboys in the playoffs, Visanthe Shiancoe picked up right where DeSean Jackson left off last week in the trash talk department, and how tired I am of hearing that Tony Romo idolized Favre as a kid and that Flozell Adams is going to cause 52 false start penalties.

The one thing it doesn't overshadow, though, is the CYST. In order for the Cowboys/Yankee Stadium Theory to continue forward, Dallas has to win this game. That's all I got, but its a heck of a thing to have. Cowboys winners, Vikings losers.

Ravens @ Colts
2) Ravens (1-0) @ Colts (0-0)
December 17, 2009. That's the last time the Colts played a full game. That's one nearly a whole month off for a team whose offense relies heavily on timing and precision. Long story short, I'm worried about rust. I mean, there's a reason Indy is 0-3 in the divisional round after having a bye for wild card weekend in the Peyton Manning era. No. 18 probably won't be a problem tomorrow, but I do worry about young players like Pierre Garçon, Austin Collie, and Donald Brown.

It doesn't help that they're playing a running team who can keep the ball out of Peyton's hands for extended periods of time. Of course the Colts don't need much time to operate with to come out victorious (see Week 2 win in Miami), but if they are indeed rusty they could be in trouble without time to work out the kinks.

On the Ravens side of things, Joe Flacco is going to have to throw more than 10 passes in order for his team to win. I'm worried about him and that hip because he looked extremely gimpy last Sunday. Flacco was not listed on Baltimore's injury report though, so the hip must be fine.

At the end of the day, I'm still pissed that the Colts passed up an opportunity to go undefeated, and all that bad karma will follow them into this game. Ravens winners, Colts losers.

Cardinals @ Saints
3) Cardinals (1-0) @ Saints (0-0)
Everyone has been saying how they've been going back and forth on who'll win the Cowboys-Vikings game, well I've been going back and forth on this game. All of these games could go either way, but this one even more so than the rest. I honestly think we could see Cards-Packers II tomorrow. Two high powered offenses and two not-so-awesome defenses, that usually equals a high scoring shoot out.

Earlier today I was leaning towards picking New Orleans because they re-signed Deuce McAllister and I thought that would give them an emotional lift. Then I came to my senses. N.O. already has 3 RBs (Pierre Thomas, Mike Bell, and Reggie Bush), so if they re-signed Deuce, that means there MUST be something wrong with at least 2 of them. I mean, its not like they picked up Deuce to help out next season, they got him to play now. If they have to turn to a guy they (and nobody else) wanted all season the day before a huge game, that's a red flag rather its a shoot out or not.

Not to mention Kurt Warner is plays like a man possessed during the playoffs. Cardinals winners, Saints losers.

Jets @ Chargers
4) Jets (1-0) @ Chargers (0-0)
If they is any chance for a blowout, this is it. I know Vincent Jackson is going to be lost on Revis Island like Chad Johnson the weeks before, but who's going to account for Antonio Gates?? How about Malcolm Floyd?? Darrelle Revis is a helluva player, but he can only guard one person at a time.

I just see Phil Rivers doing whatever he wants this Sunday and punching his team's ticket to the AFC Championship game. Oh, and Nate Kaeding will NOT miss those chip shots Shayne Graham did last week. Chargers winners, Jets losers.

Playoff Record: 2-4 (.333)
