Cleveland v. James

MIAMI, FL - DECEMBER 01: LeBron James #6 of the Miami Heat looks on during a game against the Detroit Pistons at American Airlines Arena on December 1, 2010 in Miami, Florida.
It's not like you needed my reminder or anything, but tonight is thee night. The Miami Heat take their talents to Ohio to face off with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the first since LeBron's departure. This should be fun!

...Well, unless the Heat jumps out to a huge lead and go into cruise control, like they've done several games this year. How about if LeBron goes off for 40 or 50?? If you think Cleveland is pissed now, just imagine how they'd react to watching their old lover sexing his new chick right in their old bed (aka the Heat slaughtering the Cavs by 25+ or LeBron having a big game). People might storm the court. Hell, people might storm the court regardless.

Oh, and what about the fans who will show up to support LeBron tonight?? What will happen to them, even if the Cavs win?? Chris Broussard was just on SportsCenter talking about how he had to plead with his mom (a LeBron supporter) to not go to the game tonight wearing any LeBron attire in fear of what may happen to her. If a loser in Cleveland was bitch-made enough to tackle an 8 year-old for wearing an opposing team's jersey at a Browns game, who knows what they'd do to an actual adult. All bets are off tonight.

Another interesting dynamic (that we probably won't hear much about on ESPN) is what will happen when the angry white fans start dropping the N-bombs?? Are the black anti-LeBron people gonna be cool with that?? Who's to know, but I wish there was a way I could find out, because there's no way "nigger" isn't in the top 10 of the most likely words you'll hear in Cleveland tonight. Maybe even top 5.

The last thing I wanted to talk about is what the Heat should do tonight. I like Dan LeBatard's suggestions that all the Heat players should throw the powder up before the game except LeBron, and that they shouldn't introduce him individually as a starter and let him come out with the rest the team. That's brilliant stuff, especially the powder throwing one.

Well hopefully everything goes fairly smoothly and no one gets hurt tonight, even though Cleveland seems to be as ready as possible to do something dumb that will swing some sympathy over to LeBron. Cleveland, just take this loss in stride and move on with your lives. At the end of the day, it's just basketball.
