NFL Winners & Losers: Week 10

Polamalu-Brady
Byes: Packers, Raiders, Saints, and Chargers.

1) Patriots (6-2) @ Steelers (6-2)
Welcome to this week's top game, Pats @ Steelers aka the Hair Bowl! Shampoo won't be the only creamy white substance shooting in the Head & Shoulders offices during this game. Aight, back to football...

It's funny how the NFL works, and how wishy washy the people who get paid to discuss it are. One week ago, the Patriots had the best record in the league (6-1) and everyone automatically thought that made them the best team...then they lost to the Browns, and now nobody knows what to think about them.

Welp, I hate to see what people think about the Pats after the lose this game Sunday night. Steelers winners, Patriots losers.

2) Eagles (5-3) @ Redskins (4-4)
Here's the way I see it: if Michael Vick can outduel Peyton Manning and the Colts, Donovan McNabb and the Redskins don't stand a chance. Hopefully Donovan took the off week to "get in shape." Eagles winners, Redskins losers.

3) Ravens (6-2) @ Falcons (6-2)
It's the battle of the 2008 NFL Draft QBs! It's debatable which is better after 2½ seasons, but I think Joe Flacco's team is a little bit better, especially now that Ed Reed is back. Ravens winners, Falcons losers.

(Side note: I fully expect to lose this pick. I don't have a stat, but I'm pretty sure road teams lose this Thursday night games more often than not.)

4) Titans (5-3) @ Dolphins (4-4)
The Dolphins are benching Chad Henne for Chad Pennington?? Well that's an awesome way to instill confidence in your young "QB of the future." Besides, the problem with the Dolphins this year isn't the QB, it's the poor play calling. Even Jason Garrett laughs when he sees the Dolphins' playcalling.

Anyway, I don't get this move, but since I have the Titans' defense on my fantasy team, so I support it. Titans winners, Dolphins losers.

5) Jets (6-2) @ Browns (3-5)
This could be the best 3 week stretch of Eric Mangini's life. First his team broke down the Super Bowl champion Saints, then he exacted revenge on Dollar Bill Sellatrick, and now he has a chance to beat the team that fire him a couple years ago.

Braylon Edwards will also be looking for revenge in this upcoming game, but judging by the Jets have played in the past few weeks, he won't get any. Browns winners, Jets losers.

(Side note: How garbage is Peyton Hillis?? I could see how the Broncos could have more use for Brady Quinn than Hillis, you know, with Denver's power running game and all.)

6) Cowboys (1-7) @ Giants (6-2)
The Giants are the best team in the NFC?? Word?? Here's a list of some of the QBs the Giants have faced this season:

Jimmy Clausen, Todd Collins, Caleb Hanie, Shaun Hill, Drew Stanton, Jon Kitna, and Charlie Whitehurst.

If anything, the label the Giants should be given is "Back-Up QB Killer" because they've beaten only one starting QB this entire season (Matt Schaub). In the other 2 games the G-Men played starting QBs, they lost by a combined score of 67-24. If Eli and crew can't beat Jon Kitna for the 2nd time in a month, it says more about them than it does about the Cowboys. Giants winners, Cowboys losers.

7) Texans (4-4) @ Jaguars (4-4)
I don't even know what to make of this game. I'm gonna blindly take the Texans, but I have no real reason to. Texans winners, Jaguars losers.

8) Bengals (2-6) @ Colts (5-3)
The Bengals are done, but they still could win this game. They won't, but they could. Colts winners, Bengals losers.

(Side note: Those refs didn't wanna let Indy lose last week, did they??)

9) Vikings (3-5) @ Bears (5-3)
The Bears suck, there's no reason the Vikings shouldn't win, no matter how much Brett Favre and Brad Childress hate each other. Vikings winners, Bears losers.

10) Rams (4-4) @ 49ers (2-6)
I still don't think the 49ers are good, but the Rams have yet to win on the road. 49ers winners, Rams losers.

11) Chiefs (5-3) @ Broncos (2-6)
If the Chiefs couldn't handle the mighty Jacoby Ford, I don't know what they're gonna do against the Broncos' passing attack, especially since that's the only attack the Broncos have. Broncos winners, Chiefs losers.

12) Lions (2-6) @ Bills (0-8)
As hard as the Bills have played, they've GOT to win eventually. I think things are finally setting up for that Sunday (Drew Stanton starting for the Lions). Bills winners, Lions losers.

13) Seahawks (4-4) @ Cardinals (3-5)
The benefits of trading a 3rd-round pick for Charlie Whitehurst is paying off. Unfortunately, it's not for the Seahawks. Cardinals winners, Seahawks losers.

14) Panthers (1-7) @ Buccaneers (5-3)
Tampa lost last week by a yard, they'll be win this week by a mile. Bucs winners, Panthers.

This Week: 6-8 (.429)
Overall Record: 82-62 (.569)
Last Week:
9-4 (.692)
