As you've probably already heard, Shawne Merriman has 2 torn ligaments in his left knee BUT instead of having season ending surgery he's gonna play through it. How dumb is that?? Somebody should tell him that these sports team don't really give a damn about you and if you sustain a career-ending injury trying to be tough they'll surely waive you and that will be that. No more money, no more football, that's it.
Now, I'm sure he's not gonna make it through the whole season and you know what else I'm sure of?? That the Chargers will NOT win the Super Bowl this year. The only reason they'll probably make the playoffs is because they play in the AFC West and that means 6 games against the Broncos, Chiefs, and Raiders. That's at least 5 wins right there! Then once you add in likely wins again the Panthers, Jets, Dolphins, Bills, and Falcons and they're on their way to the play off...maybe.
Whatever, this is just a dumb decision, but it ain't my knee, its his.
