Man, we got one helluva 20 tonight! Buckle up because I have plenty beef with this shit, but first here's the tonight's 20:
40. Run-DMC - Its Like That
39. Tone-Loc - Wild Thing
38. Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise
37. Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock - It Takes Two
36. Nelly - Hot N Herre
35. Queen Latifah Feat. Monie Love - Ladies First
34. Cypress Hill - Insane In The Brain
33. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony - Crossroads
32. Puff Daddy & The Family - All About The Benjamins
31. Kool Moe Dee - How Ya Like Me Now
30. Digital Underground - Humpty Dance
29. A Tribe Called Quest - Check The Rhime
28. Ice Cube - It Was A Good Day
27. Beastie Boys - Hold It Now Hit It
26. MC Hammer - You Can't Touch This
25. Fugees - Killing Me Softly
24. Eric B. & Rakim - Paid In Full
23. OutKast - B.O.B.
22. Naughty By Nature - O.P.P.
21. Afrikka Bambaataa - Planet Rock
Everything was going fine...then we got to #36. Hot N Herre, seriously?? Can I get a show of hands of people who honestly think Hot N Herre should even be on this list, let alone at #36?? Come the fuck on VH1, I know you're trying to make sure everybody is represented, but this is just ri-damn-diculous.
I'm gonna skip by You Can't Touch This at #26 and go to one of my favorite tracks ever at #25. Please, somebody explain to me how Killing Me Softly is consider a Hip-Hop song?? Just because a rapper is singing a song surely doesn't automatically make the song Hip-Hop. Would anyone consider Love Lockdown to be Hip-Hop even though Kanye West is singing it?? Exactly. I love Killing Me Softly anyway so I'm not too mad.
Next up I gotta go into why Paid In Full is anywhere outside of the top 10. What the fuck VH1?? Paid In Full #24?? That's just retarded! Matter of fact, I'm not even gonna get into it because its only gonna make me mad all over again lol.
Lets just wait for the top 20 tomorrow because we still haven't had a track from Jay-Z, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, 2Pac, or Biggie. VH1 has their work cut out for them.
P.S. - Isn't it sad that Lil Wayne's Tha Block Is Hot is represented but 2 of the records that put Cash Money on the map aren't. The 2 records I'm talking about are of course Juvenile's Ha and B.G.'s Bling Bling.
