I told y'all VH1 had their work cut out for them with all the fuck ups they made in the other 80 so of course they left out multiple classic records in the top 20. Whatever, I'll get into that later and clean up the rest tomorrow when I post a list of all the songs they left off while trying to appease rappers and make sure everyone was represented instead of just picking out the 100 greatest songs. Anyway, here's the top 20.
20. Kanye West Feat. Jamie Foxx - Gold Digger
19. Ice-T - Colors
18. 50 Cent - In Da Club
17. Sir Mix-A-lot - Baby Got Back
16. Missy Elliott - Get Ur Freak On
15. Eminem - Stan
14. Tupac - I Get Around
13. Wu-Tang Clan - C.R.E.A.M.
12. LL Cool J - I Can't Live Without My Radio
11. Jay-Z - Hard Knock
10. Kurtis Blow - The Breaks
9. Salt-N-Pepa - Push It
8. Snoop Dogg - Gin & Juice
7. Notorious B.I.G. - Juicy
6. N.W.A. - Straight Outta Compton
5. Grand Master Flash & The Furious Five - The Message
4. Run-DMC & Aerosmith - Walk This Way
3. Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg - Nuthin' But A G Thang
2. Sugarhill Gang - Rapper's Delight
1. Public Enemy - Fight The Power
Public Enemy's Fight The Power is #1 and I ain't mad at that at all! I completely forgot about it to be honest with you, I thought Mo' Money Mo' Problems was gonna be #1 after I saw Rapper's Delight was #2 but then it turned out they didn't even put it on the countdown (that's definitely gonna be one of the songs on my list tomorrow of the greatest songs VH1 forgot).
Anyway, I'm cool with this top 20 besides just one record. That record is #16, Missy's Get Ur Freak On. What, the, fuck?!? Now, I loved the song personally, the beat was crazy, but come on that is NOT the 16th greatest Hip-Hop record...nor will it ever be. Its all good though, overall I guess I'm somewhat statisfied with the list but hey, you can't please everyone, right?? Right.
