Random News Shit: NFL Headlines Edition

New York Jets wide receiver Darrelle Revis signals to the fans during football practice at the new Meadowlands Stadium, Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in East Rutherford, N.J.
1) Jets, Revis Finally Agree On Contract
The New York Jets and Darrelle Revis finally came to terms on a new deal, and just in time for the season finale of Hard Knocks too (shocker). Apparently Rex Ryan flew to Miami and met with Revis Saturday, and I'm sure HBO's cameras made a cameo. Should be interesting, as was the entire season. I've never been a fan of the Jets, but Rex makes me at least not hate them.

No word on what the money looks like, but we do know that it's a 4 year deal. The deal is 4-years and $46 million with $32 million in guaranteed money. Looks like Revis will easily be able to pay the $578,305 in fines he raked up by holding out for 35 days.

2) Haynesworth Unlikely To Start In Opener; McNabb Ready
I was looking at the Redskins' roster, and why do we think they're gonna be so much better than last year again?? Yes, they upgraded at quarterback, but their receiving corps is even more fucked up than it was last year. Factor in their NFL elderly running backs and this whole Albert Haynesworth nonsense and I smell a disaster cooking. Yes!

3) Vikings Not Interested In Houshmandzadeh?
Huh?? Minnesota was swooning for T.J. last offseason, and now he's not good enough for them?? Oh well, pride always comes before the fall. I'm just hoping he doesn't land in Washington.

4) Leinart Signs 1-Year Deal With Texans
Man, how dry was the market for Matt Leinart that he had to sign a 1 year deal with a team that has a 4,000 yard passer in Matt Schaub?? Of course Schaub has been injury prone throughout his career, but as of right now, Leinart is the 3rd string QB and I don't see that changing because Dan Orlovsky is probably better. Or at the least he has a much better grasp of the offense than Leinart would coming in on the eve of the season. I'm guessing Matt will be out of the league completely in 2-3 years.

5) Ravens' LB Kindle Plans To Play This Season
Next month is October, the guy just fractured his skull at the end of July. He knows his body better than I do, but I don't see how that's possible. And even if he was gonna be 100% healthy, he's a rookie that missed all of training camp, there's no way he'll be ready to play in the NFL by next month.

6) Titans Release LeGarrette Blount
I'll get Dana White on the phone, I think it's time to get this guy's MMA career underway.

Oh, and Rhodes scholar Myron Rolle made the practice squad.
