Thursday Billboard Update - 4/30/09

Starting off at #1 for the third time is ya boy Rick Ross as his Deeper Than Rap album pushes 158,000 in its first week. Asher Roth was supposed to be serious competition for DR, but with just 65,000 copies of Asleep In The Bread Aisle sold, he ended up being a distant image in his rear view (side note: I wonder if that Twitter shit that went down really hurt his weekend sales?). And I just wanted to shout out Jadakiss for hanging in the top 10 for one more week!

After debuting at #9 last week, Eminem's We Made You (9-11) is outside looking in on the top 10. Yes, one and done! I'm sure it will be back, but its still pretty shocking to see. Anyway, Beyonce's Halo (12-10) and Flo Rida's Sugar (15-7) jump into the top 10 while KiD CuDi's Day N' Nite (6-3) and Jamie's Foxx's Blame It (7-4) both go north, Flo Rida's Right Round (3-5),
Soulja Boy's Kiss Me Thru The Phone (5-6), and Miley Cyrus' The Climb (4-9) all go south, and number 1, 2, and 8 all remain the same.

  • Don't look now but Mr. 305 himself, Pitbull, looks to be making a top 10 push. His track I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) moves into the top 20 jumping 7 spots 23-16.
  • Steadily marching up the charts is Keri Hilson's Knock You Down with Kanye West and Ne-Yo which jumps another 13 spots 39-26.
  • In its 3rd week on the charts, Jeremih's Birthday Sex soars 27 spots 67-40. I've been hearing/seeing a lot about this track lately so I'm not that surprised to see it show up.
