How happy is Richard Jefferson today?? Yesterday he's on a Milwaukee Bucks who are going nowhere, and today he's on the San Antonio Spurs and most likely will be back contending for a title. That's how sports work these days.
Now officially the trade sends Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas, and Fabricio Oberto to the Bucks for Jefferson. It definitely makes sense for the Spurs but I guess it makes sense for the Bucks too depending on how you look at it. Currently I'm unable to look at from any positive standpoint. You bring out 3 old guys so you won't be any good next season. You got expiring contracts, but you're just making room to re-sign Charlie Villanueva or Ramon Sessions next year (yipidido!) because no free agents wants to live in Milwaukee.
2) Foye & Miller Headed To Wiz
Here's the trade: The Washington Wizards acquire Randy Foye and Mike Miller and send the #5 pick in Thursday's draft along with Oleksiy Pecherov, Etan Thomas and Darius Songaila to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Now the Wolves have the #5 and #6 picks in the draft BUT the bad news is this isn't that great of a draft class.
TNT's David Aldridge is reporting that they're possibly trying to package both of those picks to move up and take Spanish guard Ricky Rubio 2nd overall. Who knows, but I like Rubio with the T'Wolves a lot more if they wouldn't have traded O.J. Mayo on draft day last year. Who's running with Rubio on the fast break on this team?? All their other good players are big men. Then again, this type of combo did work out for the Spurs with a great big man (Tim Duncan) and non-shooting, incredible passing point guard (Tony Parker). Oh well, we'll see if they can even pull this off.
3) Boston Shopping Rondo and Allen??
This all spawned from a Yahoo! Sports report that reportedly had Boston trying to send Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen to Detroit for Rip Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, and Rodney Stuckey. A deal in which Joe Dumars and the Pistons turned down. If the rumors are true I gotta wonder why in the hell would you try to trade Rondo?? With KG out, he was arguably their best in the playoffs. I mean the guy was a triple-double waiting to happen. Something is going on in Boston that we don't know about but its very strange.
