Thursday Billboard Update - 12/25/08

Damn, looks like I was wrong because not only did Jamie Foxx not debut at #1, but he didn't even come in 2nd, he came in 3rd! Remaining #1 is Taylor Swift's Fearless which pushed out 330,000 this past week. Following closely behind at #2 is Keyshia Cole's A Different Me bringing in 322,000 in its first week in stores. I low balled my boo big time last week, but I'm glad she didn't flop. I should've have underestimated the impact of being on tour at the same time your album is dropping. Finally, at #3 is Foxx's third album Intuition which moved 265,000 in its first week. I actually thought he'd sell less, but what threw me off was how much Taylor and Keyshia ended up selling.

Last week's big 4, just became this week's big 3 as Britney's 2nd single Circus falls out of the top 10. Taking her place is Taylor Swift's Love Story jumping 11-7 this week.

  • In Damn Fiyah Was Way Off News, more people knew about Anthony Hamilton's album than I had suspected...about 100,000 more lol. The Point Of It All comes in at #12 this week with 133,000 sold.
  • Speaking of 100,000, Plies 3rd album Da Realist sold almost exactly 100,000 less than his 2nd album Definition Of Real did early this year. Da Realist comes in at #14 with 114,000 sold. Maybe people are just getting Plies'd out?? Like I said the other day, if you've heard one Plies song, you've heard them all lol.
  • If there was any one of the 6 albums I picked last week, you knew I was gonna hit on this one lol. Ya Boy Soulja's new album iSouljaBoy debuted waaaay down at #43 with just 46,000 sold. Should we make funeral arrangements now or way until after the holiday season??
