Allen Iverson's Turkish Vacation

Former NBA player Allen Iverson holds a jersey from his new team, the Turkish basketball team Besiktas, with the Besiktas club president, Yildirim Demiroren, during a press conference in New York October 29, 2010.
Since I'm playing catch up anyway, I figured there would be no better place to start than with Allen Iverson.

The other day A.I. agreed to join Turkish basketball team Besiktas, and will start playing November 8th. It's sad A.I. couldn't catch on with an NBA team, but truly the saddest part of it all is that he'll be playing on a 2 year, $4 million contract. Iverson got bigger checks than that for doing a 30 second commercials. So Darko Milicic can get $20 million to play in the NBA (he's scored a whopping 14 points in 3 games so far this season), but a future Hall Of Famer has to settle for scraps in Turkey?? And where were those big money Euro teams?? A Greek team gave Josh Childress $32.5 million for 3 years, but all Iverson could get was $4 million from Turkey?? It's just sad.

Well, I wish him the best, and hopefully somebody will give him a shot next year.
