Wack week in the top 10, no Hip-Hop for miles lol.
The story of this week is Rihanna's Take A Bow bustin' ass and taking names as it soars 52 tops to top the charts this week. This 52 spots to #1 is the biggest in Hot 100 history 2nd only to Maroon 5's 64-1 jump last May with my muthafuckin' JAM Makes Me Wonder. This came out of nowhere to me, seeing I have yet to hear the record, but with 267,000 digital downloads in its opening week is a great way to start your reign lol.
Surprisingly enough, every single song from last weeks top 8 moved down exactly one spot with the arrival of Rihanna. Only one other record cracked the top 10 this week and that was Danity Kane's Damaged (like I told you it would last week) which gives the girls their 2nd top 10 hit. Congrats.
The Billboard 200 1-10
1. Neil Diamond - Home Before Dark
2. Toby Keith - 35 Biggest Hits
3. Madonna - Hard Candy
4. Clay Aiken - On My Way Here
5. Mariah Carey - E=MC²
6. Leona Lewis - Spirit
7. Gavin DeGraw - Gavin DeGraw
8. Josh Groban - Awake Live
9. Dierks Bentley - Greatest Hits: Every Mile A Memory
10. Luis Miguel - Complices
- Rick Ross' sophomore album Trilla goes gold this week after 9 weeks on the charts and 501,600 record sold.
1. Rihanna - Take A Bow (53-1)
2. Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love (1-2)
3. Lil Wayne - Lollipop (2-3)
4. Jordin Sparks - No Air (3-4)
5. Usher - Love In This Club (4-5)
6. Ray-J - Sexy Can I (5-6)
7. Madonna - 4 Minutes (6-7)
8. Mariah Carey - Touch My Body (7-8)
9. Natasha Bedingfield - Pocketful Of Sunshine (8-9)
10. Danity Kane - Damaged (11-10)
- This is RiRi's 2nd week on the chart so this week's top debut is Coldplay's Viva La Vida at #15. Also they grabbed the 2nd top debut spot with Violet Hill at #40. Chris and the boys are DOING it!
- Mariah's Bye Bye moves back up 11 spots 38-27.
- I can't believe it, but DJ Laz' Move, Shake, Drop debuts at #56 this week. If you don't Laz, he's a local DJ down here for Power 96 (he's like the DJ Khaled of the station) and its kinda weird to know he's not the only one playing his own record. Still no word on if Cash Flow will ever debut lol.
- Maroon 5's Rihanna featuring new hit If I Never See Your Face Again debuts at #57 this week. This needs to happen more often, I mean whatever happened to releasing your song and video at the same time like this??
- T.I.'s No Matter What debuts at #72 though I doubt it was meant to be a single lol.
- My baby A. Keys' Teenage Love Affair debuts at #78 which is surprising because the video has been out for a few weeks.
