Thursday Billboard Update - 2/28/08

Back to normal on the Billboard 200 this week as sales are down 18.5% from last week. Nothing special is really going on so lets move right on along to the Hot 100.

  • After 16 weeks the god MC Hova's American Gangster finally went platinum this week and is chillin' at #68 for a 2nd straight week.
  • Jim Jones' mixtape Harlem's American Gangster debuts at #19 this week with 24,900 sold. Not bad for a mixtape.
  • Lupe Fiasco's The Cool jumps 12 spot 42-30 off the strength of his single Superstar's new found life.
  • Boyz II Men's Motown: A Journey Through Hitsville USA skies 120 spot 182-62.

  • Let's talk Flo Rida's Elevator, now I knew they were playing this shit down here a lot, but I wasn't so sure if they were anywhere else. Welp, I got my answer as it just skyrocketed from 100-28 this week! Yes, that's a whopping 72 spots! Life is gonna for that nigga they call Flo BUT if his album flops anyway then I just don't know what to say about the music industry lol. Next week would be a good time for him to drop, but we'll see if he can stay hot until March 18th.
  • Mariah Carey's Touch My Body jumps 23 spot 57-34 this week.
  • No surprise here as Usher's R. Kelly-esque new record Love In This Club is the fastest growing at radio this week as it jumps 32 spots 83-51.
  • Paula Abdul's Dance Like There's No Tomorrow has the highest debut this week coming in at #80.
