Thursday Billboard Update - 2/7/08

You know, its a damn shame how R&B is dominating Hip-Hop like this because for the 2nd straight week there are at least 3 R&B albums in the top 10 (last week there were 4). I guess that's what happens when you depreciate your genre as much as Hip-Hop has. Plus, you probably wouldn't get too far in R&B without talent...unlike in Rap lol. Anyway, Alicia Keys' As I Am returns to #1, Mary J.'s Growing Pains slips to #6, and Keyshia Cole's Just Like Me stays put at #8. No major releases again...surprise!

On Hot Mr. Chris Brown closes in on Low and will probably over take it for the #1 spot next week with his latest hit single With You. Rihanna's Don't Stop The Music also looks to do damage next week also as she's gained more airplay this week than any other single and moves up 5-3. Lastly, from out of nowhere comes Yael Haim's New Soul debuting at #9 off the strength of Apple's newly launched Apple MacBook Air TV commercials. Next week should be interesting.

He think its off the strength of Yahhh!, but that shit is a non-factor and I think those dick riders that made that Batman song are more responsible for this small push.
