Fiyah's Top 10's Of 2007

Aight y'all here it is, enjoy:

Top 10 Albums

1. Lupe Fiasco - The Cool
It was hard to put and album over that American Gangster, but Lupe killed this shit. 5/5

2. Jay-Z - American Gangster
Another Hova classic, no surprise here. 5/5

3. Common - Finding Forever
This was the year's first classic album...then again, it was the the first really good album lol. 5/5

4. Freeway - Free At Last
Man, I wish this shit actually got a little promo push behind it because it was truly an exceptional album. 4.5/5

5. Talib Kweli - Ear Drum
This was probably the most slept on album of the year which is unfortunate because it was also one of the best. Then again, what else would you expect from Kweli?? 4.25/5

6. Kanye West - Graduation
You know you're really runnin' shit when your album sounds like this and is a disappointment compared to your others lol. It really don't matter though because it damn near went platinum in one week which is a very worthy supplement for a classic album, if you ask me. At least the Lil Wayne feature wasn't the worst thing on the album for all you Wayne slurpers out there (it was the 2nd worst lol). 4/5

7. Beanie Sigel - The Solution
This album was a bit unorganized as far as the tracklisting went, but the songs were hot nevertheless. I have reviews for most of these albums which I might actually post one day lol. 4/5

8. Scarface - MADE
Well, it wasn't The Fix, but any release from Face is a good one and MADE was no exception. 4/5

9. Ghostface Killah - Big Doe Rehab
I was shocked that this was actually listenable because most of Ghost's album I have no idea what the fuck he's talking about. And that's not in a good Andre 3000 way either, but this album was dope regardless. 4/5

10. Little Brother - Get Back
Scratch what I said about Kweli's album because I mean did anyone even know this came out besides me?? 4/5

Honorable Mention

Young Buck - Buck The World
I guess it was a good year because this was #1 on my mid-year top 5 back in July lol. 3.75/5

Cassidy - B.A.R.S.
This was Cass' best album by far, but he still needs a lil help on his hooks. 3.75/5

50 Cent - Curtis
Usually I wouldn't have a 3.5 on here, but this, Graduation, and T.I. Vs. T.I.P. were the only Hip-Hop albums to go platinum this year (I think Jay is in the 900,000 range right now). Sad.
3.5/5

T.I. - T.I. Vs. T.I.P.
See above lol. 3.5/5

Bottom 10 Albums

1. Soulja Boy - Souljaboytellem.com

0 positive, 0 potential, 0/5. I just don't understand how one person can single handedly lower the standard for music so much lol. 0/5

2. Gucci Mane - Back To The Traphouse
He had some decent features from Lil Kim, Luda, and The Game so he gets a half of a point. 0.5/5

3. Shop Boyz - Rockstar Mentality
Boring and repetitive. Well its not like I was expecting to hear anything actually worth listening to lol. 1.5/5

4. Pretty Ricky - Late Night Special
I always just feel so bad for the singer after these other niggas start speaking lol. 1.5/5

5. Baby Boy Da Prince - Across The Water
I still don't have to listen to this shit lol. 1.5/5

6. UTP - Back Like We Left Something
I thought this would be worth listening to at the least, but it was trash. Someone needs to find them Juvenile's number lol. 2/5

7. Wu-Tang Clan - 8 Diagrams
I dunno what the hell was going on and NOT in a good way like I said in my comments about Ghostface's album lol. 2/5

8. Huey - Notebook Paper
I thought this shit would at least be decent since the lyrics on Pop Lock & Drop It weren't terrible...wrong! 2.5/5

9. Chingy - Hate It Or Love It
This only sold 31k for a reason lol. 2.5/5

10. Twista - Arenaline Rush 2007
Maybe Twist's label knew how bad this album sucked and that's why they put it out the week after the whole Kanye/50 thing to be overlooked and forgotten. 2.5/5

Honorable Mention

DJ Khaled - We The Best
No nigga "we" aint the best (or at least the "we" you assembled lol) so stop saying that shit! I knew this album was gonna be shit when the person who had the best track on his last album (Kanye West) didn't show up this go 'round. Beanie Sigel filled in nicely for Kanye with the only record worth listening to, but it just wasn't enough (though that track was blazin' hot) to make this shit any good. Plus, how they fucked up a song with Jadakiss, Trick Daddy, & The Game is beyond me. 2.5/5

Yung Joc - Hustlenomics
Well it was better than the first one at least. Oh yeah and he gets another half point for being the first rapper on Bad Boy to release a 2nd album without anything crazy happening to them lol. 2.5/5

Pitbull - The Boatlift
I dunno what this had to do with the boatlift, but whatever. 2.75/5

Top 10 Mixtapes

1. Nu Jerzey Devil, DJ Skee, & The Game - Youknowwhatitis Vol. 4
Trying to figure out who'd have the #1 mixtape took me even longer than the albums, but after careful consideration and an open year I just can't put anything over this Youknowwhatitis Vol. 4. This shit was incredible and Game brought out his A game only 2 month after a nearly flawless sophomore album. 4.75/5

2. Joe Budden - Mood Muzik 3
This was The Game's biggest competition when trying to figure out who'd be #1, but at the end of the day I settled on 4.5/5 for MM3. He lost a 0.25 because I STILL haven't got my mixtape and I ordered it on Dec. 15th (the day before it came out) lol. 4.5/5

3. DJ Whoo Kid & 50 Cent - G-Unit Radio 25
Banger, after banger, after banger! Plus the skits were hilarious lol. If Fif would've put some of these songs on Curtis it might have made the top 10... same thing goes for Young Buck. 4.5/5

4. Just Blaze Presents Saigon - Moral Of The Story
Still can't wait for the album, this dude is so nice its crazy. It just has that straight raw late 90s feel to it which is great for those who actually know what good music should sound like lol. This mixtape is another thing I wrote a review for that I never posted, but I got y'all lol. 4.5/5

5. Big Mike & Styles P. - The Phantom Menace
A few mistakes lost SP some points, but overall this mixtape was the shit! 4.25/5

6. Kanye West - Can't Tell Me Nothin'
A lot of exclusives at the time, but its still a great mixtape. 4.25/5

7. Andre 3000 - Whole Foods
I almost forgot all about this mixtape, but a last second external hard drive check brought it back into my view. This shit has all those classic remix verses Dre laid down this year, but whoever put it together didn't really do a good job because it really had no flow from track to track and wasn't cohesive enough for it to be top 5. Whatever, shit was still dope regardless. 4.25/5

8. Styles P. - The Ghost Sessions
Perfect mixtape...well, until the 3 bonus tracks start. It went from hardcore rap to heavy metal and I wasn't feelin' it at all. Good thing the first 12 tracks were all fiyah. 4.25/5

9. DJ J-Love & Tru Life - Tru York
Tru Life is like a low budget Game, but it kinda works for him in a way. Compared to You Know What It Is Vol. 3 this shit was crap as far as dissing a crew, but it isn't so its pretty dope. 4/5

10. DJ Finesse & Trey Songz - The Ladies Choice
I had to show my boy Trey some love because if Tru Life is the low budget Game then Trey is the poor man's R. Kelly lol. Seriously though, Trey did his thing on this 'tape both singing AND rapping. 4/5

Honorable Mention

DJ Thoro & Cassidy - The Hustlers Home
He should have probably put those 6 songs he released on 7.7.07 on here , but as it is it was still nice... that just would've made it better. 4/5

Mick Boogie & Busta Rhymes - Dillagence
This takes "its the thought that counts" to the next level because Busta didn't have to do this and just to be honest most of these J. Dilla beats aren't even that hot. 3.75/5

DJ Whoo Kid, Mister Cee, & Lil Kim - Ms. G.O.A.T.
People wanna put Kim down for this mixtape, but I really enjoyed listening to it. I dunno maybe its just me lol. 3.75/5

Bottom 10 Mixtapes

1. Ray-J - Unkut
This shit was just bad for no reason lol. I mean not only were the songs and lyrics terrible, but Ray-J can't sing for shit lol. 0/5

1. DJ Scream & Soulja Boy - Supaman
People don't believe me, but I honestly feel bad for this dude more than anything... and this mixtape proves why I should feel that way lol. 0/5

3. Lil Wayne - Tha Carter 3 Sessions
Man if this shit is a sign of what to expect from Tha Carter 3 then I'm just gonna start getting my laughs out now lol. This shit was just garbage for no reason. I mean Soulja Boy couldn't rap to save his own mom's life, but at the same time he doesn't call himself the best rapper alive lol. Y'all Wayne fans should REALLY be thanking me for the 0.5 he got because in the top 5 I did in July he got -5 lol. 0.5/5

4. Chamillionaire - Mixtape Messiah 3
I just feel so bad for Cham because he honestly tries to rap about shit, but he just can't rap for shit lol. I mean damn dude has NO kinda flow or idea who a good song should sound lol. 1/5

5. Jim Jones - Members Of Byrdgang 2
Man, I dunno what the fuck I was thinking when I downloaded this shit, but it was just bad! Jimmy has basically focused his career around trying to diss Jay-Z, but he stays ridin' that man's tip by using his lyrics lol. He took that to the next level by finding some lame from Brooklyn named Noe who is trying SOOOOO fuckin' hard to be Jay (his voice, his flow, his laugh, the whole 9) its not even funny...well it is funny, but it sure as hell doesn't make for good music. Neither does Max B.'s hooks lol. 1/5

6. Lil Wayne - Da Drought 3
I still can't believe Mixtape Monday had this shit as one of the top mixtapes of the year lol. This was 2 disc worth for throwaway bullshit. 1.5/5

7. Dem Franchize Boyz - The White Tee Gang
This shit just dropped a few days ago so I didn't get a chance to listen to it, but its DFB so it can't be any good lol. 1.5/5

8. David Banner - Spare Clips
I like David Banner, but this shit here was hot doo-doo lol. Plus, the sound quality was horrific! 2/5

9. Cam'ron - Public Enemy #1
After Glitter dropped I don't even know why I bother downloading this shit, but I did and it was trash lol. I've heard worse shit from Cam, but this shit is just entirely too long (double disc) and boring for me. 2/5

10. Superstar Jay & Remy Ma - Shesus Khryst
I still don't know what she was think with the title, but this mixtape being trash didn't help her cause at all lol. This is easily one of the most boring mixtapes I've ever heard lol. 2.5/5

Honorable Mention

DJ Drama & Katt Williams - All Hail The King
Wow this shit was pretty damn bad and on 2nd thought it probably should've been in the top 10, but I'll give Katt a few points since he's really not a rapper anyway. 2.5/5
