1) Federer Outlasts Roddick; Wins 15th Major
What a great match! ...Damn shame I had to leave for work DURING (what turned out to be) the beginning parts of the 5th set. What a 5th set it was too! The final scored ended up being 5-7, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (5), 3-6, 16-14. The match passed the 3 hour mark by a mile!
Anyway, this is Roger Federer's 15th Grand Slam title and 6th win at Wimbledon. I really wanted Andy Roddick to win though. I didn't think he would push Federer this much, but is that an indictment on how good Roddick is or how human Federer has become??
2) McNair's Death Ruled A Homocide
Okay, so now we know Steve was shot 4 times (twice in the head, twice in the chest) and the woman found next to his was shot in the side of the head. I may be being naive, but sounds like she killed him and then killed herself.
Also, turns out that she was his girlfriend. The problem?? McNair was married with kids! Don't get me wrong, I still feel bad that he died, but its HARD to not lose a little respect for him for cheating on his wife in the first place. Even if you are seperated, you are still married. Period.
On another note, how bad do you feel for the wife?? Especially if you didn't know about the other woman. She must be torn up on the inside.
3) 'Sheed Commits To Celtics
I like this move! The Celtics are clearly trying to a one-year push at another title and I like the direction they're headed in.
I'm hearing the C's are also trying to lure Grant Hill away from the Suns to make the 90's Draft All-Star team complete lol.
4) Tiger Wins AT&T National
I hope Tiger's 2009 trend of winning the last tourament before the major championship doesn't continue with the British Open on the horizon in a couple of weeks on ABC.
5) Pujols Leads All-Star Game Voting
You can click the link to find out who else made the team, if you're interested. I never watch the game, but I can't wait for the Home Run Derby though.
