Thursday Billboard Update - 11/29/07

Looks like a visit to Oprah is much more potent than a #1 record as Alicia Keys' (1-2, 349,000) reign on top of the Billboard 200 lasted just a week being knocked down to #2 by Josh Groban and his holiday album Noel. After seven weeks on the charts, Noel finally took over the #1 spot by moving about 405,000 this week, that's a 81% sales increase!

Note to recording artist: going on Oprah is better for your career than being shot and arrested... combined! Lol.

In other Billboard 200 news, Jay-Z falls out of the top 10 to #14 and Chris Brown inches up 10-9 and goes gold after 3 weeks. Jordin Sparks self-titled debuts comes in at #10 selling 119,000. Oh yeah and that damn High School Musical 2 shits jumped 130% and right back into the top 10 14-6...bastards!

At least Ms. Keys is able to hang on to one of her #1's as she maintains her dominance on the Hot 100 for a 2nd week. Kanye West's Stronger finally falls out of the top ten, but don't cry for him because Good Life is still doing its thing at #8 and his new single Flashing Lights is this weeks Hot Shot Debut at #75. Rihanna's I Hate That I Love You re-enters the top this week jumping 12-9 after 13 weeks on the charts.
