Plies Talks Usher Remix; I Talk Plies

I didn't know there was supposed to be a remix of Love In This Club with Mariah and Plies! Hmm, I guess you learn something new everyday. Anyway, check out ya "lil wo'" Plies talking about why they ended up going with the Beyonce and Wayne version.

We need more dudes in the industry like Plies! Not musically, but mentally because that is the BEST attitude to have and will get you the furtherest. Click here to read more the interview and see what he had to say about working with Ne-Yo.

Anyway, I just listened to Plies' new album The Definition Of Real (which drops this Tuesday) and I must say that is the most ig'nant album like... of ever lol. That's speaking from an average level-headed person's perspective, from a street nigga's perspective this shit is simply real. You know what though?? I can see from both of those perspectives because of my life and the people I've surrounded myself with and this album might be so ignorant that its actually ingenious. No, not classic, but possibly ingenious...seriously lol.

Listening to Plies album is like being in the hood all day and just talking to niggas about random shit because his ability to accurately portray all those thoughts, feelings, and emotions in a 58 minute and 42 second disc is actually pretty remarkable. I don't know how real he is or isn't, I've never met the man, but I do know everything he says and the way he says it connects DIRECTLY with people from the hood. Its crazy! And I don't think there has ever been an artist who's able to do that to the extent that Plies has been able to. Trick Daddy had that same shit back in the late 90's and early 2000's, but I think Plies takes it just a little bit further. Not saying that Plies is a better rapper than Trick (because he's not), or that one is more street/hood than the other, but in every word in every line Plies brings that street nigga to life and captures him to a T.

Maybe I just feel this way because his album is the freshest in my mind and I'd change once I took another listen to www.thug.com or Book Of Thugs: Chapter AK Verse 47. Who knows. I mean maybe he and Trick are equal in this regard, maybe they aren't, but that's just how I feel at this moment in time.

Oh, and when a say "street nigga" I'm talking about as in people I grew up around or just niggas from the South. I'm sure street niggas are different in New York and Cali, but I'm just talking in terms of the South and street shit I know.

Damn, that was alot! I felt like I had to tell somebody about the ignorance of what I was listening to, but when I texted my homegirl (I won't say her name lol) she seemed uninterested (as usual, good thing I got unlimited texts lol. Have you ever had someone you like/love in real life, but in text or on the phone its always just awkward?? Well, that's our relationship in a nutshell lol) so I had to write something here letting y'all know instead and kinda just went off for awhile lol.
