Yankees Take 1st Lead In AL East Since 2006

New York Yankees' Mark Teixeira celebrates his two-run homer with Alex Rodriguez during the first inning of a baseball game against the Texas Rangers in Arlington, Texas, Wednesday, May 27, 2009.
With the Red Sox loss last night, the New York Yankees took their first lead in the AL East since 2006 when they won the division. How crazy is that?! If you remember, in 2007 the Red Sox lead the whole way, and in 2008 the Sox and Rays traded back and forth and now the Evil Empire is back. Finally, all that money they spent in the offseason is paying off.
