Thursday Billboard Update - 7/1/10

As we've all heard by now, Eminem's Recovery debuts at #1 with 741,413 sold. It kills me that everybody was so shocked and surprised by this like Eminem doesn't do numbers. Whatever, Em's number this week and Drake's numbers last week prove people will still buy GOOD music no matter when an album leaks. Has piracy effected the music industry?? Of course, but labels release shit that's not worth buying has a lot to do with it too. Oh yeah, and The Roots' How I Get Over comes in at #6 with 50,961 in first week sales.

Eminem swamps the Hot 100 this week with 6 new debuts, but none higher than Love The Way You Lie with Rihanna which starts off at #2. Hmm, a wise man once said don't be surprised if this became the 2nd or 3rd single, I wonder who that was??
