Thursday Billboard Update - 6/5/08

Surprise, surprise, Usher's Here I Stand debuts at #1! I can't believe it...right lol. His first album since 2004 has the 2nd highest debut of the year (only behind Mariah Carey's E=MC²) with 433,000. A bigger surprise to me is that Bun-B's II Trill was able to stand the storm and remind in the top 10. He only slid 2 spots (2-4) and sold 40,000 in his 2nd week on the charts.

Damn, I guess all the mixtape DJ's blacklisting Lil Wayne backfired because not only does he remain at the top of the Hot 100, but he also has 2 other tracks in the top 40 (Got Money at #13 and A Milli at #34). I doubt he'll feel any of effects next week when his album is actually in stores, but it was a good attempt by the DJ's for this man's disrespect to them. Then again, maybe their impact (namely DJ Chuck T) will show on SoundScan rather than BDS? I dunno, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
