This Week In Flops 9/8/09

BP3
Because of the entire album leaking to the internet last Monday, Jay-Z has decided to move the release date on his album up to today like I said Sunday morning. Be clear, this will decrease his first week sales. By coming out on a Tuesday he's going to have to go through a normal sales week of Tuesday through Sunday. If he came out on Friday, from what I've gathered, his first week sales numbers wouldn't range from Friday to Sunday, but from Friday to the next Sunday. By dropping today, he'll lose 4 days of sales days that would count towards his first week numbers. Now, I could be wrong on this so don't quote me, but from my understanding, that's how it works.

With that being said, I'm gonna say Jay has a great week for any other artist, but a bad week for the likes of a Jay-Z. I'm going to say Blueprint 3 will fall somewhere in the range of 285-350k. Again, good for most artists, but not for Jay-Z. With those 4 extra days, I think BP3 would've landed on the high end of 300,000, and possibly crossed over 400,000.

Anyway, I finished the Blueprint 3 review last night and I'll be posting that, along with the Loso's Way review tonight.

Finally, after years and years of anticipation, the sequel to Only Built 4 Cuban Linx is here. We all know it probably won't be a beast in the sales department, but we should all be sure it'll be one musically. I doubt the mainstream is really checking for Chef at this point so I'm gonna say OB4CLII falls in the range of 30-60k. Hopefully it'll land on the high side.
