I think they most important thing he said in there was that "radio don't really mean shit" because in actuality it doesn't! With this new day and age in music, I actually think radio is hurting artist more than anything. Yeah the artist MIGHT be getting a check from ASCAP, BMI, or SESAC BUT the more people hear the song the better the chance of those people wanting to go somewhere and download it. That's especially true now that people really don't care about the artist as much as they do the "hit" record that just produced, and if you have no connection with your fans and nobody cares who you are thats not gonna translate into album sales. Sean Kingston was a perfect example because he spent, I believe, 4 straight weeks at #1 on the Billboard's Hot 100 chart but he didn't even sell 100,000 the first week!

You can have people talking about recouping off ringtones all you want, but its not about recouping, its about making money! For those that don't know, recouping is when the artist makes back all the money their record label just spent on making their project, and if all you do is recoup then how much money did you make?? The fact still stands that a bigger percentage can be made off a $11.99 album than a $3.99 ringtone, and the artist would have to sell around 2-3 million ringtones to even be in the ballpark of an album that when platinum even after the cost of making the physical album is deducted.
