Thursday Billboard Update - 12/20/07

Josh Groban continues his assault on the music industry as his Christmas album Noel remains #1 with another 15% increase and 669,000 sold! If you're keeping track at home that's a total of 2.8 mil and you've got to believe he's gonna keep the registers ringing throughout the remainer of this holiday. Maybe even into Springs, but just not towards the top of the charts lol. Wow, when you have someone moving those kind of units you forget about how big the #2 artist is doing it because while Josh has been holding down the #1, Ms. A. Keys is also killin' the game as she moves 292,000 this week. That's a figure about 92% of the industry can't even put up in their first week!

Nothing really special happened in the Hot 100's top 10 as no new records enter or exit.

1. Josh Groban - Noel
2. Alicia Keys - As I Am
3. Eagles - Long Road Out Of Eden
4. Various Artists - Now! 26

8. Taylor Swift - Taylor Swift
9. Carrie Underwood - Carnival Ride
10. Garth Brooks - The Ultimate Hits

  • Bow Wow and Omarion won out in the battle of Dec. 11th releases, but unfortunately that only got them the #11 spot with 107,000 first week. I was only 3,000 over on my prediction, but hell I was close lol.
  • Next up is Birdman's 5*Stunna at #18 with 86,000 sold.
  • Just a little bit further below at #21 is Mario's Go as it moved 77,000 in its first week.

  • Kanye also enters the top 40 as Flashing Lights jumps 50-39.
  • Rihanna newest single Don't Stop The Music looks poised to jump into contention in the next few weeks as it jumps 20 spots 67-47.
