If you couldn't recognize all the voices in the All City Chess Club, here's a quick rundown:
Lupe Fiasco, Asher Roth, Charles Hamilton, Cool Kids, Blu, Diggy Simmons, B.o.B., and Dosage. J. Cole and Wale are also a part of the crew, but for whatever reason they obviously weren't on the track.
Anyway, how love is this song?? This was a gift and a reminder that there's a lot of young talent brewing waiting to takeover the industry. I approve!

Asher Roth - She Don't Want A Man (feat. Keri Hilson) Video
I'm probably just fuckin' up but I never connected the dots and had no idea that was Keri Hilson on the hook. Well, I can't say I had NO idea because I think I read it somewhere at one point, but it doesn't sound like her to me. It sounds more like "Track 13 Girl" aka Dina Rae from Eminem's first 3 albums to me.
Anyway, I always liked this song, though it never got great reviews overall. I guess that's why I'm me and they are... well, them.

Ross Vs. Roth
Since Asher probably just ruined any chance of him coming out #1 next week via Twitter, I figured I'd post something more light-hearted to get him back in good standing. I'm shocked that Rick Ross played along with this, not because he's not funny, but because it was a smart thing to do. We all know Ross is not one to go the smart route lol. I kid, I kid! lol.
Yet Another Why Rappers Shouldn't Use Technology
Asher, Asher, Asher... What can I say?? How dumb is this?? If this were baseball this would be an unforced error. Back in the day you had to get tripped up by a clever reporter or say something into a mic when you thought it was off, but now-a-days you can just Ether yourself by trying to keep up with dumb shit like Twitter. This guy just offended some of his fans because he wanted to "tweet" on fuckin' Twitter! Again, how fuckin' dumb is this?? lol.
Now, I personally wasn't offended by the shit and it certainly didn't make me feel any kinda way, but obviously some of his Tweetsters didn't take it as well as I did. Sad stuff because this is definitely NOT the type of publicity you want as a new artist only a few days after your debut album dropped.
I suggest all entertainers take a look at this AHH.com editorial by Jigsaw entitled "Twitter Will End Your Career." Rappers especially should check it out because they're more likely to start using shit like Twitter because its the new hot thing thinking its a good thing for fans to know what you're doing throughout your day. As a fan, I could care less if you're taking a shit or about to eat some cereal or feed your dog. I want to know when you're about to drop some fuckin' new shit! Fuck!

This Week In Flops 4/21/09
Welp today is the day Deeper Than Rap finally hits stores, how are we feeling?? I'm feeling like he still has a chance to do really well, but when I think about how much he could have done had he not stupidly called out 50 or denied being a C.O., it makes me laugh. By today's standard DR should be fine though so I'm guessing he'll fall into the 145-175k range. The mark to beat is 134,000 done by Jadakiss last week. If DR can't outsell Jada (who no radio hit), then we'll really be able to see the damage 50 has done to him.
As I warned yesterday, Asher Roth is really who DR should be concerned with since it is he he's going head up with this sales week. I honestly don't think Asleep In The Bread Aisle is gonna outsell Deeper Than Rap, but at the same time I wouldn't be totally shocked if it did. Asher is hot right now and is bringing in a whole different type of consumer to the table (ex. I Love College is #18 only the Hot 100 right now but how many times have you heard it on your local Hip-Hop/R&B station??). Possibly Eminem-esque in more ways than just vocally. Be on the watch out for the unexpected huge first week.
With that said, I'm still gonna say he comes in 2nd to DR and does somewhere between 90-115k.

Asleep In The Bread Aisle In Stores Today!
Honestly, this is the person Rick Ross should be most concerned with, not 50 Cent. Not only does Asher have a single that doing better (I Love College has been in the top 20 for on the Hot 100 for the past 4 weeks, Magnificent has even cracked the top 50), but he's also bringing a whole different type of fans to the table. Not to mention he's gonna have a entire extra day in stores.
Now, I don't expect Asleep In The Bread Aisle to debut higher than Deeper Than Rap, but I won't be surprised if it does.

Asher, people don't compare you to Eminem because you're white, they compare you to Eminem because you sound exactly like him. Duh. I like Asher, but its dumb of him to think people would compare him to Kweli or Common over Eminem no matter what color his skin is. If he was black and sounded the same as he does now, he'd still get compared to Em. Its your voice bro, its your voice.
