Random News Shit: SportsCenter Edition

KANSAS CITY, MO - MARCH 13: The Kansas Jayhawk mascot celebrates with championship banner after the Jayhawks defeated the Kansas State Wildcats to win the 2010 Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Championship on March 13, 2010 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
1) Kansas Earns Top Seed In NCAA Tournament
Man, I can't wait to fill out my bracket this week! I hate college sports, but I love March Madness! Go figure.

Anyway, also receiving #1 seeds were Syracuse, Duke, and Kentucky. We'll see if any of these 4 have what it takes to win it all. I got my money on either Kentucky or Kansas.

2) Browns Release Derek Anderson
It seems like just yesterday Derek was leading a Romeo Crennel coached Browns team to a 10-win season. Now that's over. Romeo is gone, Braylon Edwards is gone, Jamal Lewis is gone, and now Derek Anderson is gone.

Arizona or Seattle are the likely landing spots for Anderson seeing their QB situations are almost as bad as anyone else's.

3) Browns Trade Brady Quinn To Broncos
The trade was for FB/RB Peyton Hillis, a 6th round pick in the 2011 draft, and a conditional pick for the 2012 draft. If Quinn beats out Kyle Orton for the starting QB spot and flourishes this will look like a steal, but for right now I guess its a pretty fair trade. I have no idea what the fuck the Browns are doing at QB, but they better get their shit together fast.

4) David Beckham Tears Achilles, To Miss World Cup
Its funny because when this story first broke ESPN said Beckham's playing status for the World Cup was unknown. It was like, "huh?" The man tore his achilles tendon! He didn't strain or stress it, he tore it, there's no way he could possibly play in the World Cup which is just a few months away.

5) Gilbert Arenas Wants To Change To No. 6
LeBron James has started a trend already! Funny, I thought it would be middle and high school players jocking LBJ's new shit, now his peers in the NBA. Kinda sad actually.

(Side note: How awesome would it have been if Arenas changed his number to 9 or 45, you know, like a pistol. That would be too great! He isn't that dumb though...or is he?? lol.)

Random News Shit: NFL Headlines Edition

ST. LOUIS, MO. - NOVEMBER 30: Ronnie Brown #23 of the Miami Dolphins rushes against the St. Louis Rams at the Edward Jones Dome on November 30, 2008 in St. Louis, Missouri.
1) Ronnie Brown Placed On Injured Reserve
Wow, this sucks balls for the Dolphins. I mean, you still have Pat White to run the Wildcat through, but nobody on that team runs its better than Ronnie Brown.

Lets be honest, the Dolphins weren't gonna make a playoff run anyway, they're schedule is just too tough. But they were definitely a team no potential playoff team wanted to see. Ronnie Brown being gone hurts that.

2) Brady Quinn Fined For Low Block
After throwing his 2nd INT Monday, Brady Quinn went low on Ravens' Terrell Suggs and was fined a whooping $10,000! So Brady Quinn could've ended T-Sizzle's career by taking out his knees with a chop block and that's worth $10,000, but Ocho Cinco bringing $1 onto the field as a joke is worth $20,000?? BULLSHIT!

3) Bengals Sign RB Larry Johnson
I had my money on him joining New England because they have a thing for old players, but I guess the Bengals can be a nice fit too. I understand the "Cedric Benson was a cast away and look what he's become in Cincy" logic of the Bengals, but I think this is a different situation. Benson was 25 when they signed him, Johnson just turned 30 today. Its not the same.

4) Bills Fire Dick Jauron
Well this was no shocker to anyone, it was inevitable even before the season started. Hell, it was inevitable when Ralph Wilson decided not to fire him at the end of last season.

Anyway, now the Bills are looking at Mike Shanahan and Bill Cowher as possible replacements, but they've got to be smoking of they think either of those guys want to come to Buffalo and inherit that mess lol.

Random News Shit: NFL Edition

Felix giveth and Felix taketh
1) Felix Jones Out 1-2 Weeks With Knee Strain
This pisses me off because Felix is so fuckin' good, but he just can't seem to not be hurt. Last year it was a hamstring and that turned into a toe and that turned into injured reserve. Week 1 in Tampa he tweaked his quad and now his he strained a ligament in his knee. Its so frustrating! Felix giveth and then he taketh away. I hope MBIII will be good to go Sunday. I mean Tashard can definitely carry the load either way, but MB is a better blocker and short yardage back.

2) Quinn Benched For Anderson In Cleveland
It sure is a good thing Eric Mangini waited until Week 1 to name a starter. He sure did psych-out all his opponents so far this year. Great strategy by the artist formerly known as "Man-genius." Congrats to Derek Anderson, but the Browns are just freakin' bad. He and Quinn are really just in lose-lose situations regardless and they are gonna lose this Sunday when they face the Bengals.

3) Panthers Sticking With Delhomme As Starter
Two touchdown, 7 interceptions, 0 wins. That's the story for Jake Delhomme this year, but the Panthers of Carolina have decided to stick with him as their starter. Then again, what other choice do they really have?? Play A.J. Feely?? Yeah, that's not gonna cut it. Oh well, I don't relaly care what happens with him now, I just wanted him to still be around by the time the Cowboys played them and he was.

4) Dolphins Acquire Thigpen, Place Pennington On IR
I understand them adding another QB, but what in the hell did they draft Pat White for?? Either way, I honestly believe Chad Henne is gonna shock a few people and open a few eyes as the Dolphins starter. Only time will tell.

5) Jackonville Jaguars Would Consider Playing Home Games In Orlando
Now keep in mind, they only said they'd consider it if the NFL expanded to 17 or 18 games. I can't knock them those because you have to do what you have to do to get butts in the seats. The Jags can't afford to be a bad team because they don't have a loyal enough fanbase built up.

I think the end result is probably going to be the Jacksonville Jaguars becoming the Los Angeles Jaguars or the Orlando Jaguars in a few years.

Random News Shit: SportsCenter Edition

CLEVELAND - FEBRUARY 22: Allen Iverson #1 of the Detroit Pistons looks on while playing the Cleveland Cavaliers on February 22, 2009 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. Cleveland won the game 99-78.
1) Iverson To Join The Grizzlies
Damn, this is just so sad. Heart breaking even. Allen Iverson was still one of the baddest men in the land up until getting traded last season. People forget, but A.I. was averaging like 27 or 28 points a game back in 07-08. That was that long ago. He was thrown into a lose/lose situation last season so I think he still has some juice left in him.

Of course the Grizzlies will still suck though so my condolences to the future Hall Of Famer's career in basketball. I hope that doesn't sound too mean, but I just wish he'd realize its better to be a role player on a championship caliber team than a starter on a loser like Memphis.

2) Jeter Ties Gehrig's Hits Mark
No need to much too big of a deal out of this. I mean its a great thing and all BUT no need to make a big deal out of the tie when he'll probably break it Friday when the Yanks play the Orioles.

3) Browns FINALLY Name Quinn Starter
Did we really need to wait this late for this announcement?? Who didn't know Mangini was gonna give Brady Quinn the nod?? And for Mangini to come out and say he wasn't gonna name a starter and give the Vikings and advantage was just retarded. He obviously hadn't watched much film on the Vikes' defense because no matter if its Quinn or Derek Anderson, neither will have a good game and the Browns will still lose.

4) Nets Unveil Brooklyn Arena Design
Looks nice. Very nice. Its no Cowboys Stadium, but its nice.

Random News Shit

1) 'Billie Jean' sues Michael Jackson for $1 billion in child support
Seriously, a $1 billion?? Who is this this bitch, Dr. Evil?? You should've even be allowed in a courtroom with a $1 billion lawsuit lol. These niggas need to leave Mike the hell alone.

2) Michael Jackson’s rep denies singer is ill
I hope not. I mean how weird would it be if Michael Jackson died??

3) New problem for Plaxico: No car insurance
Damn, Broward County has been in the news a lot lately lol. Anyway, my nigga Cheddar Plax can't catch a break! First he goes all Lil Wayne on his leg and basically gives away his $35 million contract and now he's being sued by some bimbo for an car accident from back in May?? Yeah, he's a moron for not paying his insurance, but could it be any more obvious that she was just doing this for the money?? This shit happened in May! That was 7 months ago...SEVEN! You telling me you just realized your car hadn't been fixed now?? And why would you sue the nigga AFTER he loses all his money?? Again, you had SEVEN months to do this.

Some people are so shameless, but Plax is still an idiot.

4) Brady Quinn punched by teammate
You know the saddest part about this?? Its that you barely hear about it (I caught it all the way at the bottom of the headlines), but if it happened in Dallas it would be on ESPN right now lol. I'm glad somebody punched that lil dick head anyway.

5) Paris Hilton ‘devastated’ by home burglary

Man, when did this happen?? How the hell does this happen?? Oh well, the fact that this is a back page story just goes to show how much the light has dimmed on her star lol.

New QB, Same Result

I can be your hero baby!
I'm gonna be honest, I just really wanted to post this picture lol. Its actually from the Cavs/Bulls game the other day and not the game last night lol.

Welp, since we're here we might as well talk about the game. First off, did anybody get to see the game?? I don't have NFL Network, but NFL.com hosts those games live online now so I was able to watch the last 5 minutes or so.

Anyway, what do you think about Brady Quinn's first start?? I think he did a great job (for an McCain supporter lol), but I told y'all they were gonna lose. Like I said, quarterback was not their problem, terrible defense and receivers dropping the ball is. That came into play on that last drive especially because on the 4th and 1 play, the ball went right through Kellen Winslow's hands! Perfect pass! And the terrible defense came into play by letting Cutler throw for 447 yards on them and a rookie RB run wild on them, before getting hurt, in his first game on the season. Maybe Quinn turns out to be good, but not with this team around him now.
