Fat Joe - Pride N Joy (feat. Kanye West, Miguel, Jadakiss, Mos Def, DJ Khaled, Roscoe Dash & Busta Rhymes)

Here's a new single from Fat Joe that features waaaay too many niggas. Check it out.

"What happened to the Jadakiss, Mos Def and Busta Rhymes verses?" I'm sure that's what you're asking, and really I don't know. If you're also wonder why it says they're featured on the song, it's because they are. Jada, Mos, and Busta, along with DJ Khaled, are the collage of voices you hear on the chant part, while that's Miguel and Roscoe Dash you hear on the shitty hook. A bit much, right? Right.

On another note, are we trying to bring back auto-tune already? Really? Rappers, please let that shit remain dead. Please.

Busta Rhymes Signs With Cash Money

I don't know whether to feel bad for Busta or to feel happy for him. On one hand Cash Money is one of the biggest labels around still, but on the other hand Busta once had his own situation and now he's signing to another nigga's shit again. It's kinda sad really. And what's even sadder is that E.L.E. 2 will never see the light of day now.

Oh well, Busta is a legend, so him being on Cash Money doesn't bother me as long as the music doesn't get tainted. (I'm serious, if I hear that Busta and Lil Twist are doing songs together I'm gonna flip.)

Busta Rhymes - Why Stop Now (feat. Chris Brown)

If you're interested in Busta's contest, click here to get the process started. Now let's get to the music.

First off, Chris Brown should just give up singing and be a rapper full-time. Honestly, he's so much easier to listen to when he's not singing in his horrible singing voice. Sorry, it's true.

Anyway, this joint is hard as fuck! I don't know how long Busta can ride this whole "spit something so fast he may or may not actually be saying words but it sounds good so fuck it" thing out, but I'm enjoying the shit out of it. He and Mystikal should hook back up and do an Iz They Wildin Wit Us & Gettin' Rowdy Wit Us? part 2. E.L.E. 2: End of the World is coming soon, so why the hell not? Exactly.

BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher Rankings

1) Kendrick Lamar
2) B.o.B
3) Big K.R.I.T.
4) Machine Gun Kelly
5) Tech N9ne

Bar for bar, I've got to give it to Kendrick Lamar. Dude is just nice. Next I have to give it up to B.o.B for showing everybody that he's a real MC, and not just a pop star (Side note: I wonder what B.o.B did at 3:32 when he was setting up that special needs line to make BET take the camera off of him? The retarded man bend wrist chest smack thing? Who's to know.) Coming in 3rd I have to give it up to K.R.I.T. He didn't go for punchlines and just spit some real nigga shit. Fourth is Machine Gun Kelly, who despite having a nice flow, made a couple of missteps (Rhyming "Cobain's back" with each other 3 times?). And bringing up the rear is Tech N9ne, who totally squandered his first appearance on BET since Sway and Tech's The Anthem back in 1999.

1) Busta Rhymes
2) Reek Da Villain
3) Ludacris
4) 2 Chainz

It was a close race between Busta Rhymes and Reek Da Villain, but I had to give it to Busta because he embodied exactly what you'd want from a cypher, from lyrics to delivery. Reek is clearly #2, and he's followed up by Ludacris at #3, who nearly loss points for his wild pronunciation of Zach Galifianakis' name. The #4 spot almost went to Premo's laptop or Luda's headphones because 2 Chainz brought pretty much nothing to the table here. Ultimately, I decided to just give him 4th place (and last overall) instead of 5th or 6th, but only because he changed his name from Tity Boi to 2 Chainz (even though for some reason he thought it'd be a good idea to rock 3 chains the day this was filmed).

1) Skillz
2) Lady Of Rage
3) Blind Fury
4) Dom Kennedy

You have to give this one to Skillz. You've just got to. In fact, it was almost predetermined he was going to have the hardest bars in his group as soon as BET called him to do it. Checking in at #2 is Lady Of Rage, who was shockingly quite impressive. Blind Fury did his thing as well, so he gets the 3 spot, and last was Dom Kennedy, who really didn't bring much to the table.

1) Pill
2) Meek Mill
3) Rick Ross
4) Stalley
5) Wale

The surprise upset first place goes to Pill! Who would've thunk it? Nobody, but he made it happen. Congrats. Next up is Meek Mill, though his raw Philly style carried him more so than his lyrics. I wasn't expecting much from Ross here, but he ripped it so he gets third. Stalley was nice, but he needed a little more energy, so that's good for 4th. Bringing up the rear is Wale. His verse didn't suck, he was just the 5th best on this occasion.

1) Lecrae
2) Nitty Scott
3) Estelle
4) Soprano

Lecrae blazed it and showed that a Christian rapper can be nice as hell too. He gets the #1 spot. Coming in #2 has got to be Nitty Scott, whom which I'd like to exchange numbers with and possible take out on a date. Third is Estelle, but it was by default because I refuse to sit and read Soprano's (I'm assuming) fourth place lyrics.

1) Kevin McCall
2) Tyga
3) Chris Brown
4) Ace Hood

I thought Kevin McCall was a singer? Clearly I had him mixed up with somebody else because dude is nice, and for that, he gets first place. Second goes to Tyga, who has improved more lyrically in the last 2-3 years than anyone I can recall. I mean, dude was completely wack back in 2008, but now he's almost nice. Next I'll give props to Chris Brown, who is 10x the rapper he is singer. Last place goes to Ace Hood, but it's not because he sucked, it's just because the others did better. Ace was just fine, and I'm just proud he remembered his rhyme this time.

1) Eminem
2) Joe Budden
3) Royce Da 5'9"
4) Crooked I
5) Yelawolf
6) Joell Ortiz

This is easily the greatest cypher in the history of the BET Hip-Hop Awards, and it's truly a shame somebody had to come in last in my rankings. For starters, Eminem is just out of this world lyrically. To this date, NOBODY can flip rhymes the way he can and that was on full display in this video. Coming in at #2 is Joe Budden as he remains the most underrated rapper, possibly ever. Royce is 3rd because not only did he murder his verse, but "Hi Rihanna" is still a trending topic on Twitter nearly 24 hours later. Crooked I gets 4th place for his killer bars, while Yelawolf and Joell Ortiz bring up the rear with sick verses that just weren't on the level of the lead 4, but still good as hell. Damn, that was tough.

Illest of the Night: Eminem
Runner Up: Joe Budden

Wackest of the Night: 2 Chainz
Runner Down: Tech N9ne

DMX & Busta Rhymes - Otis Freestyle

The other day Busta Rhymes previewed this track in the studio with DJ Khaled and today Funk Flex drop the whole thing. Go ahead and take a listen.

It's sad to say, but DMX couldn't be any more finished right now. Busta sounds like he's rapping in 2011 and X sounds like he's in 1991. It literally sounds like X just learned how to rap before he stepped in the booth. I'm a huge DMX fan and even I wouldn't want to hear an entire album of this shit. Sad, sad, sad.

Swizz Beatz - Y'all Don’t Really Know/Kig Tut

Monster Mondays
Okay, I got a little time, so now is as good a time as any to play catch up with this music. Let's start with some Swizz Beatz Monster Monday joints.

Man, this would've been the shit if it came out in '99 or 2000. Not so much in 2010. DMX is almost on the verge of "Don't let him to the hook nobody what" status. Busta kills it though, and DMX's verses were good too. I'll pass this with a solid C.

Well that was pretty boring, but I agree with what Swizzy said, Hip-Hop is back. You're lying to yourself if you don't think 2010 hasn't been an incredible year for Hip-Hop. More real shit, less bullshit.

Skillz BET Cypher + Other Cyphers

Skillz almost tricked me with this shit until he said that line about Stephen Hill and Waka Flocka. I'm sure I'm not the only one who didn't watch the Hip-Hop Awards in its entirety, so it wasn't outside the realm of possibility that I missed a cypher.

Anyway, outside of the points loss for wearing one of those 2007 ass neck scarfs this deep into 2010, Skillz ripped that thoroughly.

I'm mad I forgot to post this cypher the other day because this was actually the 2nd nicest one outside of the G.O.O.D. Music cypher. I don't know who Bones Brigante is, but son is nice! Wiz, Yela, and Rae all did their thing too. I wonder why Big K.R.I.T. wasn't invited??

(Side note: How dumb are niggas that they really thought Inspectah Deck was dead when Chef CLEARLY stated that his mother died?? That's the problem with a lot of shit today, everybody wants to be the first to give their meaningless opinion on something rather than gather facts. Sad.)

This was obviously the most useless of the cyphers, but its still fine I guess.

DJ Kay Slay - Blockstars (feat. Yo Gotti, Jim Jones, Busta Rhymes & Ray J) Video

If you remember when the mp3 for this song first hit the internet Plies was on the track and not Yo Gotti, but after Plies gave Kay Slay the run around about being in the video he said fuck him and replaced him. Just a little back story if you hadn't heard.

Speaking of people Kay Slay don't fuck with no more, didn't he and Busta fall out once upon a time?? I think I remember writing about that way back when. Oh well.

(Side note: It should be illegal to wear those Coogi sweaters Kay Slay had on, especially in New York. They don't look right on nobody but Big.)

The Best of the Forgotten MuZik Pt. 1

Busta
I obviously haven't post much music lately BUT that's all gonna change right about.... NOW!

Haven't heard this type of track from Busta in a loooong time. I mean, if J. Holiday wasn't on it, you couldn't tell me this wasn't an unreleased track from some time between 1996-2003. Very old Busta. Not that there's anything wrong with the new Busta, but this is some shit I would've expected to hear on E.L.E. Either way, I fucks with this track.

Strong ass joint from David Banner! He turned into the Hulk for this shit. Something is wrong and the fact that no radio station would dare pick this up plays a part in the overall picture. Program directors would say its because of the somewhat anti-gay speech in the last verse, but they really wouldn't play it because they're too busy playing Soulja Boy and Stanky Legs.

Bully - Who The Fuck Is This? (feat. Sheek Louch)

Bully fits right in in D-Block like he was there the whole time. I don't know if he came up studying them or what, but he's spits their style perfectly. I fucks with Bully.

Cory Gunz is still super nice as you can hear. Not sure what this is/was on though because it wasn't on that Heir To The Throne mixtape with DJ Drama.

I'm not gonna front, I don't hate this song. Plus, its true because one disagreement with Chris Brown can transform any young lady from a bad bitch into a bloody, bruised mess (Shout out to Rihanna). Hey, fuck y'all, I ain't beat the girl up, he did lol.

I wonder if Jacki-O realized how much she sounded like a mixture between Foxy Brown and Lil Kim?? I don't mind it, but her and Fox obviously don't get along.

Anyway, I'm glad to see Jacki and Brisco have made up since that ugly wad of slap situation back in 2008. This track is really hot and we need more of this and less of that. Shouts to Mowet too, that dude has talent. Trust.

Jadakiss definitely won this match-up of NY lyricists. Good to see Rakim working though.

Damn I wish I could find this track without all those annoying tags! This track is fiyah! The beat is straight stupid and Maino and banks handle it properly. Definitely gets my co-sign and stamp of approval.

Random News Shit

Max B, Gone For 75 Novembers
1) Max B Gets 75 Years In Prison
Welp so much for a rap career.

Question: Does Jim Jones gets his money back for bailing Max out that time since he just ended up in jail anyway??

I never been to jail before so I don't know how the bail/bond thing works, but I think he should get back at least some of it. Right??

2) Busta Rhymes Announces The Name Of His Next Album
The new album is gonna be called The Chemo because "We're coming to kill the cancer in music." Busta Rhymes clearly never heard his last album lol.

3) Mike Epps To Host 2009 BET Hip-Hop Awards
I know Lil Duval was lobbying for the job a couple days ago on Twitter, but BET gave it to Mike Epps anyway. I ain't mad at Epps, I hope he brings the funny.

What I am mad at though is the Hip-Hop Awards being in Atlanta still. That makes no sense! Its like having an anti-child molesting seminar in the back of a van with no windows.

4) Jin Becomes A Christian Rapper
After I saw that picture of him on his MySpace on some emo shit a year or so back, I figured it'd come out that he was becoming a homo rapper. Nope, he's a Christian rapper now instead. I ain't mad at that. In fact, as long as he promises to never make a song like Fill In The Blanks again he can be whatever kinda rapper he wants. Damn that shit was terrible lol.

5) The Green/White Ranger Wants To Fight MMA
Fuck this story, I wanna talk about that flute/dagger the green ranger used to have! What ever happened to that thing?? Do they still sell them anywhere?? I tell you what, if I could find one, I'd buy that shit right the hell now! I don't even know what I'd do with it (kinda like when I bought my nunchucks and sais) but I just want it. Somebody price it for me, I'd appreciate it lol.

Busta Rhymes - If You Don't Know, Now You Know (feat. Big Tigger)

Man, I love this freakin' song! Makes me mad I forgot to post it when I uploaded it on back in May (you can click the link to download the mp3). Oh well that how it is some times I guess. I'm still trying to figure out how this didn't make the album. It could've replaced any number of poor songs on B.O.M.B. You know what though, its really an indictment of how weak that album was that they're shooting videos for songs they didn't even make the final cut.

Anyway, as far as the video goes, do they really expect us to believe those exotic looking white girls were the the callers with the black girl voices?? I mean seriously?? Don't insult my intelligence.

Busta Rhymes - Back On My B.S. (Review)

1) Wheel Of Fortune
The album gets off to a nice start with the DJ Scratch produced Wheel Of Fortune. This track is vintage Busta Rhymes from the Opera-style, "Back On My Bullshiiiiit," introduction, to the beat, to the flow and delivery. We're off to a strong start.

2) Give Em What They Askin For
I don't know if its just me, but it sounded like the hook came on about 17 times on this track. Just seemed like I was hearing the hook about the same, or even more than I was hearing verses. And while we're on the hook, I HATE that he used "something" 3 times as a rhyme ("Everybody was looking for one thing. Ya lookin' for something, well I got the something, now every single person that was looking for something...")! That's just a pet peeve of mine lol.

Anyway, as an overall song, this is the one that I always come back to listen to because Swizz Beatz KILLED this track (though people are saying Ron Browz produced it now but I'll believe it when I see it). It sounds good on the computer and on my phone, but it goes even harder in the car. Trust me! Now, Busta didn't murder it with the lyrics, but he also didn't say anything wack or corny in the verses (which is usually the downfall of tracks like this) so I co-sign this one.

3) Respect My Conglomerate
I still don't understand why they took Young Jeezy off of this track in exchange for Lil Wayne so he can say things like, "I know more about tree than squirrel," and, "I'll put you in dirt just because I see the worm in you," but I guess that's why I'm not working at a record label. To be fair to Wayne, his verse wasn't all bad (the "Hip-Hop is a bitch and I'm proud of this girl" line was hot), but Jeezy's verse was just more memorable. Its still a good song (not incredible, just good) either way so its all gravy.

4) Shoot For The Moon
I thought Lark On My Go-Kart was about to start when this came on lol. Anyway, Shoot For The Moon is another good, but not great song. I think it would've been better served closer to the end the album, if not the last track.

5) Hustler's Anthem '09
*Yawn* Oh, the tracks over?? Thank goodness, I was about to fall asleep on this boring ass uninspiring excuse for an anthem. Whoever thought this would be a good single should be fired, and whoever approved it should be too. T-Pain just stole Busta's money.

6) Kill Dem
Look at that muffin?? What a poor attempt at starting a new phrase trend (though I'm sure me and Andy will adopt it for comedic purposes lol). This song is a slap in the face to all Reggae/Dance Hall songs... well all the good ones at least. Hoes might like it though so who knows.

7) Arab Money
I can't believe there wasn't a bigger uproar about the offensiveness of this song. Ron Browz basically went in the booth, made some random, jibberish sounds, auto-tuned it, and said it was Arabian. They might as well had made another version with "ching-chong-ching" as the hook and called it "Asian Money". How about one with a bunch of random click consonants called "South African Money"?? No, no, wait, how about one with chicken frying and grease popping in the background called "Nigger Money"?? Okay, a bit too far there, but you get what I'm saying lol. Besides all that, its a very poor record with a very poor track behind it.

8) I'm A Go & Get My...
When this track starts off it seems really creative (even though "All About The Benjamins" came out in like 2001 and the joke isn't as funny anymore), but after while it gets cheesy and annoying. Mike Epps lil skit at the end was hilarious though, so I'll give it points for that, but overall this track was lacking across the board.

9) We Want In
Q: What's worse than getting ripped off by T-Pain for a lackluster hook??
A: Getting ripped off by a poor man's version of T-Pain (aka Ron Browz) for a lackluster hook, of course!

Oh, and is there anything LESS gangsta than doing the "su-woo" Blood gang call in auto-tune?? I'm just saying...

10) We Miss You
This track isn't bad by any means, but I don't get the positioning of it. Why put a song about the hood missing you and wanting you back as the 10th track on a 14 track album?? To be fair to Busta, it wouldn't have sounded right at the beginning, but its not fiyah to the point it HAS to make the album. Not to mention he already spit that 2nd verse on the radio in January. Oh, and the auto-tune on this album is on overkill at this point.

11) Sugar
Sugar is a cool track and after some of the other shit on the album its welcomed. It does seem a bit forced like somebody was said, "Yo Bus, we need a song for the ladies," though.

12) Don't Believe Em
I don't know if its because Akon is on the hook, the Don't Believe Em is a tad generic. Its weird because T.I. and Busta both ripped their verses. Oh well, its still pretty hot so its definitely a plus for this album.

13) Decision
I think this will be the census choice as the best track on the album, and I'd have to agree. Its hard to pull off these star-studded songs, but everyone fit perfectly and nobody stepped on anyone's toes. Decision is ideal.

14) World Go Round
This would've been a better spot for Shoot For The Moon because do you really want your album to end on this note?? The beat on this shit is horrendous! I'm convinced this might have been a half way decent track if it was done over another beat. I liked the melody of Estelle's hook, but other than that I can't fuck with this Flo Rida-type bullshit.

In the end, Back On My B.S. had its up (Decision) and had its downs (World Go Round). This is Busta's worst album by far. There was just too much bullshit on here and not enough content. Its like he went too mainstream and it really ruined the whole album. That's really messed up too because a near-classic like Big Bang doesn't deserve a follow up like this.

2.75/5

This Week In Flops 5/19/09

Normally, I don't list album that I think will sell over 250,000 units (had to lower it from 300,000 because no one was missing the cut lol), but Relapse is an except because by Eminem's bar is so high, there is no way he can do what he would've done 5-10 years ago in this climate (unless of course Interscope pulls a Carter 3 and buys most of the albums themselves lol). My guess for Relapse is 400-450k, though I could easily see him going over 500,000. Either way he'll have the #1 album regradless and according to Rick Ross, that's more important than what you actually sold lol.

Anyway, check out my review of this album if you haven't already.

Def Jam is really doing Red & Meth a disservice by making them drop an album the same day as Eminem. I guess this is some get back for them waiting 10 years to drop another album though lol. My prediction for Blackout! 2 is 50-80k.

Another rapper done a disservice by his label is Busta Rhymes. Why continuously push his album back and then land it on the same date Eminem makes his return?? After all the push backs you're telling me they couldn't move him a week or 2 in either direction?? Fucked up.

Anyway, I'm gonna put Busta in the 45-65k range.

(BTW, my review WILL be up later today so be on the look out.)

I'm still in disbelief that this album is coming out today even though I have it on my computer right now. There isn't even a Wikipedia page for this shit, let alone a first single or video. I just feel bad for Freeway so I'm not even gonna bother guessing because 1) I'm not convinced it'll be in stores 2) the number would be too disrespectful.

http://i42.tinypic.com/347k2no.jpg
This Sheek album is in the same boat as the Freeway album, I know its real because I have it on my computer, but there is no real real info to be found on this project anywhere. I'll pass on the guess.

Killah Priest: The Exorcist album cover art
Okay, enough of that passing shit, I'm ready to make a guess for this one. No disrespect to Priest, but I'm gonna rock with 500-2k.

Drake - Funk Flex Freestyle

Are we sure he's not on Young Money?? Every time you say that his fans are quick to say he's not but he's rapping more and more like Wayne everyday and he references them as if he's signed with them. Whatever the situation is, its more than just an "affiliation."

Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom Pow (Remix) (feat. 50 Cent)

50 kinda snapped on this shit....then it went back to sucking soft dick once he finished lol. I mean seriously, "We so 3008, you so 2000-late"?? I understand why Jamie Foxx went off on them last week lol.

Trey Songz - Be Where You Are

Not bad.

Spliff Star - Sniper (feat. Busta Rhymes & N.O.R.E.)

This track is crazy! Busta probably should've kept them one for himself lol.

Reed Dollaz - We Run This (feat. Freeway)

What the fuck is wrong with Reed Dollaz' voice?? This nigga sounds different every time I hear him on wax. That's not a good thing either because he's always doing some weirdo voice I can't fuck with.

Paul Wall - Lemon Drop (feat. Baby Bash)

Wack.

Mistah F.A.B. - Hit Me On Twitter

Enough with the Twitter bullshit!
