Vikings Release Donovan McNabb

Donovan McNabb's post-Philadelphia career should be as good a reason as any to why the Eagles fans who want Andy Reid fired are morons. I don't know where they think they're going to find a better coach than Reid, but they should know now that they won't.

And with that being said, I totally back all the Eagles fans that want Andy Reid canned. I'm all for anything that will bring the Eagles down now and in the future, so letting Andy Reid go to Miami or Jacksonville is a-okay with me. Good job as  always, Eagle fans!

Back to Donovan: the obvious landing spots for him would be either Chicago (hometown, need a QB) or Houston (need a QB), but Houston has already come out and said they won't be putting in a claim for Donovan (you know, because they're totally set at QB now that they've signed Jake Delhomme). Chicago still hasn't said anything, but you'd got to believe they're interested after seeing a full game of Caleb Hanie.

1) Patriots STEAL Albert Haynesworth For 5th Round Pick In 2013!

Not even a 5th round pick in this draft, a 5th round in 2013! Oh, and did I mention the Redskins have already paid him the bulk of his contract, so New England will only be on the hook for $5.4 million? That is insane! How do the Patriots keep doing this?! Are they extreme couponing when they make deals or what? Something's gotta give.

2) Dolphins Trade For Reggie Bush
Oddly, there's still no word on what the Dolphins gave up, but it better not be anything higher than the 5th round pick the Pats just gave away to steal Albert Haynesworth. Either way, Reggie had to restructure his deal to make this worth and he's now getting $9.75 million over the next 2 years.

I talked to my Dolphins fan friend Tyler and he hates this move, but I think it's okay. I don't think Reggie is going to change into the unstoppable force Haynesworth is about to re-become up in New England, but he should give them something, especially if they insist on keeping the Wildcat offense. Besides, that's a reasonable price for Reggie, remember, he's only 26 years old.

3) Eagles Sign Jason Babin To A 5 Year Deal

No word on what they compensation is just yet, but this is a good deal for the Eagles...which unfortunately makes it a bad deal for the Cowboys. Oh well.

4) Chris Kluwe Sets His Price For Vikes #5 Jersey

Sounds like a good deal to me, Donovan should definitely take it.

Donovan McNabb Headed To Minnesota In Trade

Donovan McNabb will have to re-structure his contract before this deal can become official, but this seems to be a done deal. Good look for McNabb and I'm happy to finally get him out of the NFC East. Hopefully Washington also goes through with their plans to start John Beck this season. That would be so awesome for my Cowboys.

Mike Shanahan just called me and said he doesn't think Donovan is in good enough shape to count all that money and is sending in Rex Grossman to count the rest.

Seriously though, wow, $78 million for 5 more years?? I'm not saying Donovan doesn't deserve it, but this was random as fuck. I mean, I know they were talking about an extension, but I didn't know it was gonna be over 5 years or this lucrative.

Maybe the Shanahan era in Washington is coming to an end soon?? Dan Synder gave Jim Zorn a few seasons before he got canned, so I doubt it, but I wouldn't be all that surprised if he did fire him after the season. All Shanahan seems to do is pissed off Synder's highest paid players.

Which has a better chance of happening: Brad Childress keeping his job or Kat Stacks getting saved??

I know it's a stretch, but personally, I'm gonna have to go with the latter. At the least there's a 0.1 percent chance Kat Stacks gets saved. There's negative chance Childress keeps his job. Chilly couldn't be any more out if was Brett Favre's dick with a camera phone within arms-length. I mean, yeah, Randy Moss is a certified head case, but there's NO reasonable explanation for cutting someone you traded a 3rd round draft pick for after a month. One month! Four games!

And then that bullshit explanation about Moss berating a cater and his food, what was that?? Mike Shanahan came up with a better excuse than that for benching Donovan McNabb for Rex Grossman (but we'll get into that shortly). Moss would have to literally ass rape the caterer on my office desk while I was on the phone with my momma for me to even THINK about cutting him. At the very least Chilly should have called up Dollar Bill Sellatrick and said, "OK, we fucked up. Keep the 3rd-rounder, give us a 5th, and you can have Randy back." Whatever you do, you can't just cut Randy Moss after 4 games.

Mike Shanahan Says Donovan McNabb Not In Shape For 2-minute Drill
I hope Mike Shanahan at least sent Brad Childress a gift basket for deflecting attention away for this godawful excuse for an excuse. He wasn't in shape?? Really?? So he played 7 complete games before this, including 2 overtime periods, without a problem, but he wasn't in good enough shape to run the 2-minute drill??

And it's not like the Redskins have been blowing people out and Donovan hasn't had to do much in 4th quarters, 6 of their first 7 games were decided by 6 points or less, including 4 by 3. He managed all that, but the 2-minute drill was too much to ask on that day?? Give me a fuckin' break.

Then, to make matters worse, you replace McNabb with the "Opposite Team Touchdown Machine" Rex Grossman?? That's like replacing Josh Freeman with Morgan Freeman.

Would anyone had blamed Donovan for Randy Moss-style berating Mike Shanahan in Washington's locker room?? I don't think so.

JaMarcus Russell works out for Washington Redskins
The only thing potentially more outrageous than replacing Donovan McNabb with Rex Grossman would be replacing JaMarcus Russell for anyone on an NFL roster. Why would the team who deemed McNabb too out of shape to finish a game and wouldn't let Albert Haynesworth practice until he passed a conditioning test even consider working out JaMarcus Russell?? Makes no sense.

I don't think it's ever a good thing for a player when the first team in waiver claim order claims you. Oh well, Shawne just isn't good anymore, and he's more injury prone than Kris Jenkins. I give him 3, or 4 years tops before he's out of the league completely.

1) Shanahan: McNabb May Miss Season Opener
B.S.! There is no way Donovan is not gonna play in that game versus the Cowboys. I wish he wasn't playing, but there's just no chance he misses the opener. The ankle isn't never seemed to be that serious. I mean, the dude had on an air cast last week. Not a boot, AN AIR CAST! Besides that, the game isn't for 2 more weeks, he'll be fine. Don't try to pull the sheet over our head Shanahan, take this opening night ass whuppin' like a man! lol.

2) Bengals Cut Antonio Bryant; Owe Him $8 Million
Looks like the CowBengals are down one ex-Boy, but this had to be done. They knew it, I knew it, you knew it. The guy has a bad knee and he only practiced with the team once, which makes it all the more curious they picked him over T.O. in the first place.

Oh well, their receiving corp is full anyway with Ocho Cinco, T.O., Matt Jones, and Jordan Shipley. And you can't forget rookie TE Jermaine Gresham, that kid is a player. We'll see if Carson Palmer can get them all the ball, but that's the biggest concern to me because I'm not sure he can anymore.

3) Ben Roethlisberger, Roger Goodell To Meet Friday
I'm assuming this meeting is to make the final decision on whether Ben's suspension will be 4 or 6 games. I'm sure it'll be 4, but I guess we shall see.

4) Jets' Calvin Pace Breaks Foot; Ravens' Stallworth Does As Well
Tough breaks for both team (literally), but even tougher for the Jets. Stallworth isn't even a starter, so he's replaceable, but the Jets are probably going to have to bring a new player into camp to replace Pace. This ESPN article says that guy will be Adalius Thomas, so we shall see.

Donovan McNabb Traded To Redskins

I was watching a video on NFL.com earlier that said this was a possibility. I thought it'd never happen. Several hours later, it happened. Well damn!

Anyway, what in the fuck were the Eagles thinking?? You traded Donovan McNabb to a team you play twice a year?? I don't get it. But fuck the Eagles, why are they making shit harder for my Cowboys?? I don't appreciate that at all! The Redskins have all kinds of options now. Now that they have a QB, they don't have to take one in the draft. They could take an O-lineman with the 4th pick, they could trade back into the teens to take Dez Bryant, they could trade Jason Campbell for a 2nd or 3rd round pick, etc. Either way, I'm not looking forward to facing the Redskins this year.

On the other hand, I am pretty ready for the Kevin Kolb era in Philly though. He better be as good as they hoped or this will be an epic fail. Lord knows I'll be rooting for that. And not just because I'm a Cowboy fan, but also because the city of Philadelphia has mistreated Donovan for years and frankly don't deserve him.

Here's the statement Donovan released through his publicist:

"I'm really excited about my future with the Washington Redskins. I'm eager to work with Coach Shanahan. He's been a very successful coach with a couple of Super Bowl victories on his resume. Better late than never I guess, but Crabtree (neither crab, nor tree lol) was still getting TERRIBLE advice from the people around him. I still don' get the logic, you were picked 10th, you can't get 5th pick money because you weren't the 5th pick, you were 10th. Its simple. I guess they were banking on the 49ers needing his services to be a good team, but with them getting off to a 3-1 start, that couldn't be any further from the truth.

I hope he does good, but I could easily see him falling into the Mike Williams/Charles Rodgers/Peter Warrick WR Bust Hall Of Fame.

3) Eli Manning Diagnosed With Plantar Fasciitis
He's said to be day-to-day, but if I was advising him, I'd tell him to sit Sunday's game out. Eagles Sign Vick To 2-Year Contract

Nooo! Dammit, dammit, fuck, fuck! Of all the teams, why did it have to be the freakin' Eagles?? Then again, I take that back because I would've been just as pissed if he signed with the Giants or Redskins (and after what the 'Skins displayed in their preseason game tonight, they might need him more).

ESPN.com's NFC East blogger Matt Mosley recently made up his list of top 10 building blocks from the division and this is what he came up with:

Eli Manning is the most valuable person in the NFC East?? Really?? Last time I checked he wasn't even the best QB, let alone best player overall. Here's a real list composed by yours truly:

1) DeMarcus Ware, DAL
This is a no-brainer, need I remind you he had 20 sacks and 6 forced fumbles last year?? There's no question who I'm taking with my 1st pick.

2) Albert Haynesworth, WAS
Haynesworth already takes up a bunch of space in the middle, but with teams doubling Ware, he should be even more of a beast than ever before.

3) Donovan McNabb, PHI
Eli was human without Plax last year. Meanwhile, Donovan has been playing with mediocre receivers for years and still put up numbers. Plus, he won't fold in crunch time like Romo.

4) Osi Umenyiora, NYG
With Ware, Haynesworth, and Osi out there, I might not even need anymore offensive players. What are teams gonna do?? You can't double team them all so at least one of them is gonna kill you every play.

5) Jason Witten, DAL
Great blocker and pass catcher, Donovan could do wonders with Witten out there with him.

6) Asante Samuel, PHI
Asante gets picks even when QBs have time to throw so just imagine what he'd do with Ware, Haynesworth, and Osi putting the pressure on. He might catch 20 INTs. Plus, it doesn't hurt that he's from the 954.

7) Marion Barber, DAL
This was tough because the NFC East has such good RBs with Brandon Jacobs, Clinton Portis, and Brian Westbrook. I'd take Barber over all of them though because he runs tough, isn't easily taken down, is a beast in the 4th quarter, and isn't as injury prone as Portis and Westbrook. If he doesn't hurt his toe last year on Thanksgiving, he rushes for at least 1,200 yards.

8) Terence Newman, DAL
Newman is a game changer when he's on the field so he and Asante in my secondary equals WR lockdown.

9) DeSean Jackson, PHI
With Plax and T.O. both banished from the NFC East, Jackson is now the best receiver in the conference. Plus, not only does he stretch the field, but he gets me great field position on all those 3-and-out punts my incredible defense would force.

10) Jason Peters, PHI
This is gonna be a huge year for Peters, I can feel it. I have no idea why the Bills traded him. Oh well, he'll do wonders giving McNabb more time.

And there you have it. Nobody is fuckin' with this team and certainly not one led by Eli Manning.

McNabb Won't Re-Sign Without Roster Upgrades

Looks like Donovan has decided to smarten up and tell the Eagles organization that he won't be signing anything if they don't get him some real receivers. And you know what?? I don't blame him in the least bit. The city of Philadelphia has shown him NO respect over his tenure leading the team, so why should he subject himself to being the fall guy when his team won't even give him a decent wide-out that can catch the ball. Go Donovan (though I pray they can't bring in T.J. Houshmandzadeh).

Donovan To Remain Starter Thursday

After my homie Andy Reid yanked Donovan McNabb Sunday so my Cowboys would have an easier shot at a wildcard, he's announcing that he'll remain the starter Thursday night when the Eagles face the Cardinals in Philly. I'm fine with this though because the damage is done and not only will be not have to worry about the Eagles anymore this year, I doubt they'll be a threat once both McNabb and Reid are gone next year. O happy day!

In other Cowboy enemy news, the NFL has moved December 7th's Redskins/Ravens' game to the NBC Sunday Night slot. The original game between the Pats and Seahawks will now be played at 4:05 PM. I guess the learned their lesson from the last time the Seahawks were on Sunday night and nobody watched. Even John Madden skipped that game lol.

Because of his selfless decision to pull Donovan McNabb at halftime of a 10-7 game and replace him with Kevin Kolb, the Eagles are now officially eliminated from the wildcard race at 5-5-1 after losing 36-7. Great job Andy, you deserve a promotion for what you did for my Cowboys!
