ESPN.com's NFC East blogger Matt Mosley recently made up his list of top 10 building blocks from the division and this is what he came up with:
1) Eli Manning, NYG
2) DeMarcus Ware, DAL
3) Albert Haynesworth, WAS
4) Asante Samuel, PHI
5) Jason Peters, PHI
6) Jason Witten, DAL
7) Justin Tuck, NYG
8) Brandon Jacobs, NYG
9) Brian Orakpo, WAS
10) Brian Westbrook, PHI
Eli Manning is the most valuable person in the NFC East?? Really?? Last time I checked he wasn't even the best QB, let alone best player overall. Here's a real list composed by yours truly:
1) DeMarcus Ware, DAL
This is a no-brainer, need I remind you he had 20 sacks and 6 forced fumbles last year?? There's no question who I'm taking with my 1st pick.
2) Albert Haynesworth, WAS
Haynesworth already takes up a bunch of space in the middle, but with teams doubling Ware, he should be even more of a beast than ever before.
3) Donovan McNabb, PHI
Eli was human without Plax last year. Meanwhile, Donovan has been playing with mediocre receivers for years and still put up numbers. Plus, he won't fold in crunch time like Romo.
4) Osi Umenyiora, NYG
With Ware, Haynesworth, and Osi out there, I might not even need anymore offensive players. What are teams gonna do?? You can't double team them all so at least one of them is gonna kill you every play.
5) Jason Witten, DAL
Great blocker and pass catcher, Donovan could do wonders with Witten out there with him.
6) Asante Samuel, PHI
Asante gets picks even when QBs have time to throw so just imagine what he'd do with Ware, Haynesworth, and Osi putting the pressure on. He might catch 20 INTs. Plus, it doesn't hurt that he's from the 954.
7) Marion Barber, DAL
This was tough because the NFC East has such good RBs with Brandon Jacobs, Clinton Portis, and Brian Westbrook. I'd take Barber over all of them though because he runs tough, isn't easily taken down, is a beast in the 4th quarter, and isn't as injury prone as Portis and Westbrook. If he doesn't hurt his toe last year on Thanksgiving, he rushes for at least 1,200 yards.
8) Terence Newman, DAL
Newman is a game changer when he's on the field so he and Asante in my secondary equals WR lockdown.
9) DeSean Jackson, PHI
With Plax and T.O. both banished from the NFC East, Jackson is now the best receiver in the conference. Plus, not only does he stretch the field, but he gets me great field position on all those 3-and-out punts my incredible defense would force.
10) Jason Peters, PHI
This is gonna be a huge year for Peters, I can feel it. I have no idea why the Bills traded him. Oh well, he'll do wonders giving McNabb more time.
And there you have it. Nobody is fuckin' with this team and certainly not one led by Eli Manning.
After reports of Pacman being out for the year, and at least one saying his career may be over, Mr. Adam Jones was back at practice Wednesday and getting ready to play against the Ravens Saturday. I don't know if that's good or bad news, but good for Adam.
Tony Romo practiced, but is still bothered by that bruised back from being kneed against the Giants. He's still expected to play, but will continue to take treatment. Whatever we do we just can't let Brad Johnson get in the game lol. Marion Barber did not practice yesterday, but with the emergence of Tashard Choice, I'm more willing to let Marion rest. He was not anywhere near 100% last week and we're gonna need him if we get to the playoffs.

Hopefully this will be a shot in the arm because we're gonna need it tonight. I've had a bad feeling about this game all day and its not allowing me to get too exited or pumped up like I'd usually be. I don't know why, but I just can envision the Giants being up 14-0 early on. I hope I'm wrong. Anyway, I'm sure Marion will be limited so Tashard Choice will get plenty carries. Either way its good to have him back.

See, this is what I was afraid of when playing the Steelers! People have a bad tendency of being injured while playing them and I knew we'd be re-stung by the injury bug afterward. Well here's the first casualty. Pac will miss the super huge game just one game after coming back because of a bugling disk in his neck suffered in Pittsburgh Sunday. Not only will he be out against the Giants, but there is a possibility that he might miss the rest of the reason. His acquisition sure has helped us out lol.
But wait, there's more! Here's a list of other players who didn't practice today: FS Ken Hamlin (ankle), WR Roy Williams (foot), TE Jason Witten (everything), G Montrae Holland (ankle), WR Miles Austin (knee), and of course RB Marion Barber (calf, toe). Back-up, back-up SS Keith Davis should really have missed practice with a third-degree MCL sprain, but decided to tough it out. Who knows if he is gonna be ready for the game Sunday. Shit is fucked up!

Dammit, dammit, fuck, fuck! They say a high ranking source with the Cowboys say he didn't even make the trip to Pittsburgh. All isn't lost, but this is a HUGE piece of our offense. His running, his blocking, his catching, just his overall effort. We'll miss all that, but I'm confident in Tashard Choice. Hell, what other choice do I have?? lol.

My damn heart almost dropped the other day when I saw DeMarcus Ware laying there on Thanksgiving. I wasn't so much worried about Marion Barber because I just don't see him allowing himself to miss any time lol. Well anyway good news for both as MRIs Friday were negative. They'll be rehabbing all this week so I'm praying they'll be able to go. We'll need ALL hands on deck to beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh next week even with 10 days to prepare. And yes I'm expecting a lot more injuries after that game next week.

I just got off work and then get this news. My boy Felix "Dave Chappelle's older brother" Jones is now out for the season with a toe injury! I had been hearing he had a set back in his rehab over the past few days, but now its all over. It sucks because he took a lot of pressure off Marion. Welp, as long as Romo can get the ball around to the guys our running game shouldn't suffer to much with Barber and Choice.

Thank goodness we were able to pull that out! What a catch by Martellus Bennett, right? Way to come up big rookie! The game ball should definitely go to Marion Barber (24 rushes for 114 yards and 6 catches for 39 yards), but our defense did their thing for the most part too. Everything seems to run a lot smoother with Romo behind center, doesn't it? We still need to cut down on all the penalties. We had 5 for 40 yards, which doesn't seem too bad after a tough win, but they were untimely as hell!
Welp I can actually sleep good tonight! I'll be back stressing next week though because I don't expect the 49ers to just lay down for us at Texas Stadium. They just whupped the Rams 35-16 and are maybe starting to figure it out. Yeah, I know it was just the mighty Jim Haslett Rams, but we still have to show up.
Oh, and so much for Santana Moss killing the Cowboys. A healthy T. New makes a helluva difference huh?? lol.
I'm glad we finally locked up Marion Barber, but this new deal with Terence Newman was big for us too because with he and Pacman on the corners our secondary should remain dominate.
Newman got a 6-year extension worth $50.2 million with $22.5 million of that because guaranteed money over the 1st 3 years of the deal. The Barbarian received a 7-year extension worth $45 million which includes $16 million in guaranteed money.
I'm happy with that...now I'll be even happier when Dictator Goodell stops fuckin' around and takes Pacman off suspension, but its cool I'm patient.
