Random News Shit: NFL Headlines Edition

Jim Zorn
1) Jim Zorn Relieved Of Play Calling Duties
I'm loving it! Our games against the Redskins can't come fast enough! Unfortunately we don't get to play them until November 22nd and with our luck, they'll probably have turned things around by then. Such bullshit!

Anyway, Jim Zorn should really feel happy that he's still employed right now because his team looks absolutely awful. All the blame can't be put on him though because this is basically the same team that was 6-2 to start last year, plus Albert Haynesworth. I don't get it, but don't be shocked if Zorn doesn't make it past the Skins' bye week next week.

2) Jets NT Kris Jenkins Out For Season With Torn ACL
Just a few weeks ago they were 3-0 and the toast of the town, now they're 3-3 and gonna be without one of their top defenders for the rest of the year. At least the football gods are giving them the Raiders next week to take their anger out on and right the ship.

3) Bengals DE Antwan Odom Placed On IR, Out For Season
This is a huge loss for the Bengals, Odom was tied for first place in sacks until Elvis Dumervil got 2 last night. The Bengals were a nice story to start off the season, but I wouldn't be surprised if they faded from this point.

4) Seahawks Lofa Tatupu May Not Miss Season
Reports first had Tatupu out for the season, but upon further review, what was thought to be a complete tear is really a partial tear and he could be back in just a few weeks. I'm not sure how you misread a partial tear with a complete tear, but whatever I guess.

5) Police Release McNair-Kazemi Text Messages
Damn, so she asked for money, he gave it to her, and she still killed him?? This bitch was fuckin' the game up!

6) Crabtree To Start Sunday In Houston
Seems a bit fast, don't you think?? After that embarrassing 45-10 loss to the Falcons, the Niners might be pressing a bit. Welp, hope its works out for them because if it doesn't and they fall apart we'll start hearing talks of a Crabtree Curse lol.

7) Panthers' Dante Wesley Suspended One Game For Hit On Defenseless PR
I know you saw the hit from the Carolina/Tampa game, but if you haven't click here.

Definitely a dirty play and I wouldn't have been mad if they have gim 2 or 3 games for that hit. You can't defend what he did because not only Clifton Smith call for a fair catch, but the ball hadn't even arrived before Wesley speared him.

8) Pats Release WR Joey Galloway
I think we can pretty much call it career for Joey Galloway. His legacy still hangs over my Cowboys in the form of Roy Williams so he won't be missed. (And if you didn't get that last line, I'm talking about how we traded 2 #1 draft picks for Galloway back in 2000, similar to the way we traded 3 draft picks for Williams. Still pisses me off until this day.)

49ers, Crabtree Agree On Contract

Michael Crabtree, the San Francisco 49ers' NFL football first-round draft pick, plays around as he tries on his new helmet while touring the team's headquarters in Santa Clara, Calif. , Sunday, April 26, 2009. Crabtree was a wide receiver at Texas Tech.
Well its about damn time! I'm glad Michael decided to get off of his high horse and sign his damn contract. See how easy that was?? You fly out Monday, have a meeting Tuesday, and have a contract Wednesday morning. Simple.

Anyway, if you play fantasy football, don't overreact and go pick him up now, Crabtree is gonna give you next to nothing this season. He doesn't know the offense, he hasn't played football since the Cotton Bowl on the 2nd day of 2009, and he's probably not in football shape after missing the entire training camp. He might put up numbers on some Roy Williams in 2008 shit this year lol.

Random News Shit: NFL Headlines Edition

NASHVILLE, TN - DECEMBER 07: Receiver Braylon Edwards #17 of the Cleveland Browns reacts in the final minutes of play during their 28-9 loss to the Tennessee Titans on December 7, 2008 at LP Field in Nashville, Tennessee.
1) Braylon Edwards Allegedly Punches LeBron's Pint-Sized Friend Outside Night Club
Yes, you read correct, I said "LeBron's pint-sized friend." This guy we're talking about is 5'7", 135! Braylon is 6'3", 215! He should feel ashamed of himself for beating up this little dude. I mean it was probably already hard for lil man to prove he was grown and get into the club, then Braylon's ol' non-catching ass wanna punch him out. I'm assuming he was salty over not catching any passes Sunday, but you still can't do this. Hold up, he caught 0 passes and his team lost Sunday, what in the hell was he at the club anyway?? This nigga is brave, if I played for a team as sorry as the Browns, I'd probably stay my ass home. Not because I'd be scared, but because I'd be too embarrassed. Maybe that's just me.

2) Michael Crabtree Flies To San Fran To Re-Open Negotiations
Better late than never I guess, but Crabtree (neither crab, nor tree lol) was still getting TERRIBLE advice from the people around him. I still don' get the logic, you were picked 10th, you can't get 5th pick money because you weren't the 5th pick, you were 10th. Its simple. I guess they were banking on the 49ers needing his services to be a good team, but with them getting off to a 3-1 start, that couldn't be any further from the truth.

I hope he does good, but I could easily see him falling into the Mike Williams/Charles Rodgers/Peter Warrick WR Bust Hall Of Fame.

3) Eli Manning Diagnosed With Plantar Fasciitis
He's said to be day-to-day, but if I was advising him, I'd tell him to sit Sunday's game out. You're just playing the Raiders and you don't wanna aggravate it and make it worse when you have to go to New Orleans the next week. I'm sure the Giants don't need Eli to beat the Raiders the way JaMarcus Russell is playing.

4) Donovan McNabb Back To Practice
Looks like McNabb is gonna be back this Sunday to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Good for him.

5) Matthew Stafford Day-To-Day With Knee Injury
I guess it was one of those things that looks worse than it actually is because I thought dude was gonna be out for an extended period of time.

Random News Shit: SportsCenter Edition

New York Yankees starting pitcher Joba Chamberlain reacts after getting the third of the fifth inning with the bases loaded against the Boston Red Sox in their MLB American League baseball game at Yankee Stadium in New York, August 6, 2009.
1) Yankees Get First Win Over Red Sox In 2009
Well its about damn time! It took 9 attempts, but the Yanks finally got their first win over the Sox. Damn, why didn't I bet on this game??

2) Rashard Lewis Tests Positive, Gets 10 Game Suspension
Seems much worse than it actually is. Stern should reduce the sentence to 3-5 games.

3) Stallworth Sorry, Will Accept Goodell's Ruling
As if he had any other choice lol.

4) Cousin/Advisor: Crabtree Skip '09 Season
Problem number 1 with this situation: You have a cousin/advisor lol. You can have a cousin that give you advice, but once you give that cousin a job as an advisor you're crossed the line. I'll believe it when I hear it from Crabtree or his agent, but either way these rookies need to stop being bitches and sign their damn contracts! I can see Crabtree's career going down the tube already.
