Thursday Billboard Update - 2/21/13

The sales impact of the Grammys finally shows up and the Billboard 200's top 10 reflects that with several old albums returning (2013 Grammy Nomineees, Taylor Swift, fun., and Maroon 5), a couple rising (Lumineers and Bruno Mars), and one making its way back to #1 (Mumford & Sons).

Some bullshit is popping over on the Hot 100 as Billboard and Nielsen has retardedly (new word alert!) decided to revamp its system to incorporate YouTube streaming, which allowed Baauer's much parodied Harlem Shake to debut at #1. This is stupid on many levels, but none more than the fact that only a small fraction of those streams came from people listening to the song past the first 30 seconds. PSY must be pissed (though it should be noted that Gangnam Style is up 22 spots 48-26 because of this).

In other, more logical, Hot 100 news, Rihanna grabs her 24th top 10 song (and passes Whitney Houston and the Rolling Stones who both have 23) as Stay soars 54 spots 57-3 in its 2nd week. (I'm sure the 29.5 million YouTube views had a lot to do with it.) And lastly, Drake's Started From The Bottom skies 53 spots 63-10 also in its 2nd week.

The Billboard 200 1-10
first week debuts in bold

1. Mumford & Sons - Babel (4-1)

8. Various Artists - Now 45 (3-8)
9. Andrea Bocelli - Passione (5-9)
10. Maroon 5 - Overexposed (20-10)

The Billboard Hot 100 1-10
first time top 10's in bold

2. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop (1-2)
3. Rihanna - Stay (57-3)

Slaughterhouse Tour: Episode 8

Gotdamn, now the album is pushed back to July? That sucks, but oh well, that's the business.

On another note, y'all saw Joe dapping up J.R. Smith backstage at Summer Jam? That's crazy, but I guess he truly is over Tahiry. Either that or J.R. and Tahiry broke up and that were having a laugh about her vagina. Either way.

Slaughterhouse Tour: Episode 3

If you paid attention to the end of the video closely, you'll see that it appears the new Slaughterhouse album has been pushed back to June 12th (I'm assuming that means we aren't getting that Joe Budden solo album on June 27th after all). It's all good though, I'm sure it'll be worth the wait... unlike Nicki Minaj's new album.

Slaughterhouse Speaks After Joe Budden's Arrest

If you hadn't heard, Joey was arrested right before a Slaughterhouse concert in New York yesterday over an unpaid $75 parking ticket. Gotta love that NYPD using all their resources keeping criminals off the streets.

On another note, thank goodness this didn't happen in Florida because there would've been hell to pay if Joe Budden got arrested over a parking ticket in the same state George Zimmerman and Casey Anthony murdered people and got away with it.

J.R. Smith Fined $25,000 For Tweeting Tahiry's Ass

I guess I should've saw this fine coming when this story blew up on the net Friday. Whatever, I have a few questions about this whole mess.

Question #1: What is it about Joe Budden that makes his hoes go fuck ball players?

Question #2: Is Tahiry really gonna act like she didn't fuck J.R. Smith while laying in her draws in his hotel room bed?

Question #3: Word?

Question #4: Can J.R. Smith afford to pay this fine if he can't afford a hotel room with a bigger TV?

Question #5: What ever happened to that gross looking super tatted ho J.R. Smith used to be with? (It seems like just yesterday she and J.R.'s sister were brawling in the stands in China.)

Question #6: Does Tahiry have a mullet?

Question #7: If so, why?

Question #8: I know Joe is a lifelong Knicks fan, but how could he root for them (mainly J.R.) without feeling some kind of way? (Don't look for too many more tweets like this in the near future.)
