Sean Kingston Back

Perfect timing by me, Sean Kingston has been released from the hospital according to TMZ. Winning! lol.

Now, I was gonna shoot a video for this, but I just wasn't cutting my facial hair for no damn Sean Kingston. Plus, I didn't know anybody with a jet ski. It's all good, I'll get em next time.

Sean Kingston Seriously Injured In Jet Ski Accident

NEW YORK, NY - DECEMBER 10: Recording artist Sean Kingston attends the Z100 & Coca Cola's All Access Lounge pre-show at Hammerstein Ballroom on December 10, 2010 in New York City.
Around 6PM today Sean Kingston ran his jet ski into a bridge in Miami and is now in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital. No word on how he managed to run into a bridge in broad daylight.

Now, I'm warning you, this next comment is gonna be fucked up. If you don't want to hear it, just leave now.

(You gone yet? Okay, good.)

How do we know Sean Kingston getting hurt in a jet ski accident wasn't God's way of punishing him for Beautiful Girls? I don't see why that's not a possibility, that song blew ass. Also, how do we know it's not just his pride that is in critical condition? Crashing your jet ski into a bridge when Miami is packed with tourists can't be good for the ego.

Welp, I hope dude makes a full recovery so he can once again torment us with terrible music. And speaking of terrible music, why couldn't this have happened to Lil B or Soulja Boy instead? That would've been even more beneficial to our ears than it happening to Sean Kingston. Just putting it out there.

Thursday Billboard Update - 9/16/10

Sara Bareilles - Kaleidoscope Heart
We have a new #1, but not much to talk about in the Billboard 200 this week.

Same goes for the Hot 100, though Flo Rida's Club Can't Handle Me hops 13-9 and enters the top 10. But that's it.

The Billboard 200 1-10
first week debuts in bold

1. Sara Bareilles - Kaleidoscope Heart (1)
2. Eminem - Recovery (3-2)
3. Various Artists - Now 35 (2-3)
4. Katy Perry - Teenage Dream (4-4)
5. Disturbed - Asylum (1-5)
6. Stone Sour - Audio Secrecy (6)
7. Interpol - Interpol (7)
8. Justin Bieber - My World 2.0 (8-8)
9. Anberlin - Dark Is the Way, Light Is a Place (9)
10. Various Artists - Camp Rock 2: the Final Jam (9-10)
  • Young Buck's The Rehab project debuts at #56 with 6,400 copies sold.
  • Dorrough's Get Big checks in at #68 with 5,500 albums sold.
  • Chingy's Success & Failure fails to chart on the Billboard 200. I think we can go ahead and drop the "Success &" portion from the title.
The Billboard Hot 100 1-10
first time top 10's in bold

1. Katy Perry - Teenage Dream (2-2)
2. Eminem - Love The Way You Lie (2-2)
3. Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are (4-3)
4. Taio Cruz - Dynamite (3-4)
5. Enrique Iglesias - I Like It (5-5)
6. Usher - DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love (6-6)
7. Nelly - Just A Dream (9-7)
8. Ke$ha - Take It Off (8-8)
9. Flo Rida - Club Can't Handle Me (13-9)
10. Taylor Swift - Mine (7-10)
  • Jay Sean's 2012 (It Ain't The End) featuring Nicki Minaj is up 8 spots 49-41.
  • Waka Flocka's No Hands with Roscoe Dash and Wale debuts at #45. I heard people talking about this song but had no idea who sang it. Now I do. Great.
  • Drake's Fancy is up 8 spots 57-49.
  • Rihanna's Only Girl (In The World) debuts at #75. If you're gonna add the "In The World" part of the time in the parenthesis, why not just make it a part of the title?? It's not like you can take the "Only Girl" part out and the song could be called "In The World." The parenthesis is supposed to be for a secondary title, not a continuation of the title. Thank you.
  • Jazmine Sullivan's Holding You Down (Goin In Circles) (see how it's done Rihanna??) jumps 12 spots 88-76.
  • The awful song will.i.am and Nicki Minaj did in their awful VMAs pre-show performance, Check It Out, debuts at #78. Awful, just awful.
  • Sean Kingston's Dumb Love debuts at #84.

Thursday Billboard Update - 8/12/10

Arcade Fire
After being beat out by Avenged Sevenfold's Nightmare by 3,847 albums last week, Eminem's Recovery still can't recover the #1 spot being best by 4,006 by Arcade Fire's The Suburbs this week. Recovery moves 152,073 in its 7th week and The Suburbs sells 156,079 in its first. What a great problem to have if you're Eminem. I'm sure his double platinum status next week will make up for it. Recovery has sold 1,980,373 copies thus far.

Also, Bun B's Trill O.G. debuts at #4 with 40,530 sold.

Eminem and Rihanna's Love The Way You Lie retains the #1 spot over on the Hot 100 this week, but there's no telling how long that will last as Taylor Swift new single Mine debuts at #3 after only a few days of its release.

The Billboard 200 1-10
first week debuts in bold

1. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs (1)

6. Lady Gaga - The Remix (6)
7. Justin Bieber - My World 2.0 (4-7)
8. Drake - Thank Me Later (5-8)
9. Lady Antebellum - Need You Now (7-9)
10. Buckcherry - All Night Long (10)

The Billboard Hot 100 1-10
first time top 10's in bold

1. Eminem - Love The Way You Lie (1-1)
2. Taio Cruz - Dynamite (3-2)

Thursday Billboard Update - 4/1/10

Justin Bieber
Surprise, surprise, Justin Bieber's debut LP, My World 2.0 (My World 1.0 was an EP), takes over the #1 spot. Okay, that actually surprised no one, but what really shocked the shit out of me was that he only sold 282,700. I mean, that's good figure if you're underrated rapper or something, but Justin Bieber is the big phenomenon of 2010. You can't go on Twitter, Facebook, or turn on a TV without seeing that kid's name. There's no excuse for him to not AT LEAST have sold 500,000 first week. These new young groupie bitches are lousy as fuck. Anyway, Monica's Still Standing came in at #2 with 183,800. That's damn good, did her last album even sell that total?? (Don't worry about correcting me, I already know it did.)

Don't really worry about the Hot 100 this week, nothing is really going on on that side.

The Billboard 200 1-10
first week debuts in bold

1. Justin Bieber - My World 2.0 (1)
2. Monica - Still Standing (2)
3. Various Artists - Now! 33 (3)
4. Lady Antebellum - Need You Now (1-4)
5. Justin Bieber - My World (10-5)
6. She & Him - Volume Two (6)
7. Ludacris - Battle Of The Sexes (3-7)
8. Lady Gaga - The Fame (5-8)
9. Marvin Sapp - Here I Am (2-9)
10. Black Eyed Peas - The E.N.D. (8-10)
  • Sade's Soldier Of Love crosses the 1 million sold mark this week thanks to roughly 31,300 new buyers. Welcome back to platinumville Sade.
  • Snoop Dogg's More Malice debuts at #29 with 15,500 records sold.
The Billboard Hot 100 1-10
first time top 10's in bold

1. Rihanna - Rude Boy (1-1)
2. B.o.B - Nothin' On You (2-2)
3. Train - Hey, Soul Sister (7-6)
4. Lady Antebellum - Need You Now (4-4)
5. Lady Gaga - Telephone (3-5)
6. Taio Cruz - Break Your Heart (5-6)
7. Black Eyed Peas - Imma Be (6-7)
8. Justin Bieber - Baby (10-8)
9. Young Money - Bedrock (8-9)
10. Ke$ha - TiK ToK (9-10)
  • Sean Kingston and Justin Bieber's Eenie Meenie debuts at #30. Sounds terribly wack.
  • Usher's Lil Freak, featuring another bad Nicki Minaj verse, jumps 10 spots 66-56.
  • Lloyd Banks' Beamer, Benz, Or Bentley featuring Juelz Santana rises 9 spaces 79-70.
  • T-Pain's Reverse Cowgirl debuts at #75. I'm interested to see how far this song can go in the mainstream lol.
  • Young Money's Roger That debuts at #86.

Thursday Billboard Update - 3/11/10

Lady Antebellum
There's a new #1 this week, but its a familiar face as Lady Antebellum's Need You Now returns to the top of the ranks with 125,600 sold over the past week. Sade's Soldier Of Love is down to #2 with 79,200 sold. And debuting at #9 is Raheem DeVaughn's The Love & War MasterPeace with 45,200 sold.

Making a huge splash on the Hot 100 is Taio Cruz whose Break Your Heart record featuring Ludacris zooms from #53 to #1. I haven't even heard of the song, let alone heard it, but it better be damn good lol. The odd man out is Trey Songz's Say Aah which exits the top 10 after 2 weeks.

The Billboard 200 1-10
first week debuts in bold

1. Lady Antebellum - Need You Now (2-1)
2. Sade - Soldier Of Love (1-2)
3. Blake Shelton - Hillbilly Bone (3)
4. Danny Gokey - My Best Days (4)
5. Various Artists - Almost Alice (5)
6. Lifehouse - Smoke and Mirrors (6)
7. Lady Gaga - The Fame (5-7)
8. Black Eyed Peas - The E.N.D. (4-8)
9. Raheem DeVaughn - The Love & War MasterPeace (9)
10. Easton Corbin - Easton Corbin (10)
  • Jason DeRulo's self-titled debut album checks in at #11 with 42,300 sold.
  • DJ Khaled's 4th album Victory debuts at #14 with 28,000 sold. Its rough out there.
The Billboard Hot 100 1-10
first time top 10's in bold

1. Taio Cruz - Break Your Heart (53-1)
2. Lady Antebellum - Need You Now (3-2)
3. Young Money - Bedrock (2-3)
4. Rihanna - Rude Boy (8-4)
5. Black Eyed Peas - Imma Be (1-5)
6. Ke$ha - TiK ToK (4-6)
7. Train - Hey, Soul Sister (6-7)
8. Jason Derulo - In My Head (10-8)
9. Lady Gaga - Bad Romance (5-9)
10. Ludacris - How Low (7-10)
  • Usher's Lil Freak with one of the new wack rappers in the game, Nicki Minaj, debuts at #43.
  • Speaking of new wack rappers, Roscoe Dash's All The Way Turnt Up turns up 15 spots higher than last week by going 61-46.
  • Kevin Rudolf's I Made It (Cash Money Heroes) leaps 14 spots 67-53.
  • Trey Songz's Neighbors Know My Name jumps 16 spots 88-72.
  • Something that goes by "Three 6 Mafia Vs. Tiesto With Sean Kingston & Flo Rida" debuts a track named Feel It at #78.

Thursday Billboard Update - 10/1/09

Pearl Jam
Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 loses ground at the top and falls to #2 with 134,100 sold. Drake's So Far Gone EP hangs into the top 10, falling to #9 with 36,100 in its 2nd week.

Only one new entry in the top 10 this week, and its actually been here before. Mariah Carey's Obsessed is the song and it sees its way back into the top 10 at #9. I can see it landing as high as #4 next week with her new album dropping this past Tuesday and all.

The Billboard 200 1-10
first week debuts in bold

1. Pearl Jam - Backspacer (1)
2. Jay-Z - Blueprint 3 (1-2)
3. Three Days Grace - Life Starts Now (3)
4. Whitney Houston - I Look To You (2-4)
5. Miley Cyrus - The Time Of Our Lives (5-5)
6. Brand New - Daisy (6)
7. Five Finger Death Punch - War Is The Answer (7)
8. Harry Connick Jr. - Your Songs (8)
9. Drake - So Far Gone EP (6-9)
10. Muse - The Resistance (3-10)
  • Sean Kingston's Tomorrow comes in at #37 with a raggedy little 12,600 first week. That's just sad.
The Billboard Hot 100 1-10
first time top 10's in bold

1. Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling (1-1)
2. Jay Sean - Down (3-2)
3. Miley Cyrus - Party In The U.S.A. (6-3)
4. Jay-Z - Run This Town (2-4)
5. Jason Rulo - Whatcha Say (10-5)
6. Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me (4-6)
7. Lady GaGa - Paparazzi (7-7)
8. Kings Of Leon - Use Somebody (9-8)
9. Mariah Carey - Obsessed (11-9)
10. Jay-Z - Empire State Of Mind (5-10)
  • I usually don't have country artists, but Carrie Underwood's Cowboy Casanova soared 85 spots 96-11 this week and I thought she needed to be acknowledged.
  • After debuting at #75 last week, Black Eyed Peas' Meet Me Halfway jumps to #47 this week.
  • Ester Dean's Drop It Low with Chris Brown jumps 14 spots 63-49. Will Ester Dean usher Chris Brown back into the game??
  • Homewrecker Alicia Keys sees her new single Doesn't Mean Anything debut at #61 this week. I guess the title is what A. Keys responded when asked "You know Swizz Beatz is married, right??" lol.
  • Sean Kingston's Face Drop debuts at #70.
  • Maxwell's jam Bad Habits finally debuts this week at #96.

This Week In Flops 9/22/09

Sean Kingston
Only one album dropping this week and its a snoozer. On one hand its smart to drop your album on a week when nobody else drops, but when you're Sean Kingston it really doesn't matter because you're STILL not gonna get the #1. Whatever, I'll give the kid 30-50k.

STFU Award: Sean Kingston

If you haven't heard or seen, Sean Kingston has now thrown his hat in the ring and wants in on Bow Wow and Soulja Boy's Lambo race. I'm fine with that, but why is this nigga trying to act like his money is so long that he's untouchable?? Nigga please lol.

First off, did you see that little ass nigga Sean said was his "goon" at about 2-something in?? LMAO! That nigga couldn't have been no more than 5'2"! How is your "goon" is shorter than Katt Williams and Kevin Hart?? LMAO!

Anyway, I'm not the type of nigga that counts up other people's money and tries to put people down because of the money somebody else is making, but some on Sean Kingston, be serious. You've been out for like 2 years, have 1.5 hits and you think you're doing it that big?? Both he and Soulja Boy HAVE to know that Bow has more money than both of them combined. They do know that, right??

This is fuckin' retarded and Sean Kingston just proved he is one of the lamest niggas in the game for trying to stunt with shit niggas were stunting with when he was in elementary school lol. I mean seriously, a Maybach?? We're supposed to be impressed by a Maybach?? And you can't forget the house! He's supposed to be ballin' all crazy with that shit?? Nigga don't even have any land, you can see like 4 of his neighbors in that shot lol.

Now I'm not saying I'm a big money heavy weight or nothing, but I HATE when niggas try to stunt and do it the wrong way. Especially when those people aren't even really established in the game and can realistically be broke in a couple of years lol. If you were really doing it that big we wouldn't need you to tell us that, Forbes would do it for you.

Banks, Free, Bris, Murray, Jones & Much More!!

Lloyd Banks - Mind On Murder

Again, I hope he's saving some of these tracks for the album.

Freeway - Next Up

This shit is murder. What else is new?? lol.

Brisco - Ain't A Rap Song

Crazy beat! Bris did his thing on it too.

Keith Murray Feat. Infared - We Don't Play

That's right! "I don't give a fuck, I'll stab up a midget!" lol. Seriously though this is dope shit.

I-20 Feat. Devin The Dude & Lil Keke - Down Bitch

Damn, I was starting to think I-20 wasn't even on his own track lol. Dev killed this as usual though.

2 Pistols - Lights Low

You know normally I'd say somebody with a T-Pain first single would be a one-hit wonder, but She Got It never got too huge like Low or shit like that so I think 2 Pistols still has a chance. Welp only time will tell.

Jim Jones Feat. Oshy Star - Blow The Bank

Pretty average, nothing too special here.

Sean Kingston Feat. Kardinal Offishall - Girl I Wanna Know

What kinda low budget Sexy Can I is this??

Ron Artest Feat. Max B., Mistah F.A.B., & Mike Beck - Something Tonight

Why does Ron Artest keep insisting on rapping when he's so terrible at it?? Sad.

I dunno how long this video has been out (really don't care lol), but I just saw it for the first time the other day. Its Sean Kingston's Take You There and its corny as fuck! Look at this lame ass lookin' nigga driving around the hoods of Miami in a dunk, singing a love song lol. I mean he already doesn't look like someone who'd be riding around in that type of car, but damn singing a love song driving through the ghetto??? What's romantic about that?? I dunno y'all jusst watch for yourself (if you hadn't already):

Damn, this nigga is such a lame LMAO!!

Speaking Of Bricks...

Speaking of bricks (last blog post), I just took a look at the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and I see Soulja Boy's fuckery... "Crank That" has moved all the way up to #14. Man, I REALLY can't wait until this example of how NOT to rap (& speak I mean damn what is this nigga even saying?? He sounds like Lil Darryl and shit lol) drops his debut Souljaboytellem.com so I can get another great his laugh. Shit aint like it used to be when all you need was a "hot" song out to sell records, NOPE now you actually have to have some sort of talent or your career is over before it starts. Just this year we've had a string of potential and confirmed one-hit wonders such as Shop Boyz, Huey, Hurricane Chris, MIMS, Yung Berg, Cupid, Jason Fox (if they actually played his record, thank goodness they don't lol) and the aforementioned Soulja Boy. That's a lot for 8 months, I mean we haven't seen this amount of one-hit wonders since the early 90's!

You can possibly add 3 more names to that list, but I'm a little more optimistic about them for some reason. Those few lucky men are Sean Kingston, Rich Boy, and Plies. Sean Kingston obviously (or not so obviously if you've only heard Beautiful Girls or that god-awful shit he did on the Make Me Better beat) has some talent so I'm not completely ready to put him down for the count. As it looks right now, he certainly has the statistics of a potential one-hit wonder (#1 single in the country, 74,700 records sold in his first week in stores), but with a little grooming and growth he at least has a chance to beat the odds. Right now I'd say he's around 50/50.

Rich Boy's "Throw Some D's" had one hit wonder written all over it, then his self-titled debut album dropped and flopped within its first month in stores BUT with his relationship with Polow Da Don he might have a little more time in the game than expected. Polow is producing hits left and right & he's no stranger to one-hit wonderdom (I made that up, like it?? lol) with Jim Crow a few years ago, maybe he'll steer Rich's rap career better than his own. Not to mention Rich has been added to Rocawear's "I Will Not Lose" campaign alongside Ciara which might prove to be a good sign (hell doing clothing campaigns worked for T.I. back when his career was in the gutter in like 2002). Rich Boy is gonna need someone to help him out with his speech because people not knowing what the hell he's saying is a problem (see Soulja Boy's "Crank That").

Then there's Plies. Oh boy! Plies, Plies, Plies lol. Mr. Fort Myers...or should I say "Pakistan" (that's a joke in itself for all my Florida people who have actually been there lol) is difficult because unlike Sean Kingston or Rich Boy he's doesn't have a huge smash "hit" record (yet). I mean "Shawty" is doing good but it has yet to crack the top 10 and MTV is JUST premiering it on TRL today (Aug. 9). Plies is also rather old for the rap game (31 years of age), but his look isn't old (well it is, but you know what I mean lol) so he's gonna be able to connect with that desperate-for-the-next-it-guy-to-profess-my-love-to

-for-the-next-three-months-until-his-hit-single-plays-out teenage girls. The main thing holding him back is surprisingly enough not his astonishingly ignorant content or his flip, flops from street nigga to acceptable nigga (depending on who's interviewing him of course lol), but his rather rap flow. Plies has a bad habit of trying to fit too many words into a bar too often to be taken seriously by real hip-hop fans (the people who really determine if you have a career or not).

Who really knows what the future holds because talented people have fallen off before and less talented people (::cough:: Chris Brown, Pretty Ricky, etc. ::cough:: lol) have stayed around longer than some of us expected and vice versa. I guess we're just going to have to wait and see, but I seem to have a habit of being right about these kinds of things.

Can You Say Brick??? LMAO!

Now, I'm not saying he had to break the register selling out everywhere, but dammit Mr. So Krispy (aka Kia Shine) only sold 9,400 copies of his debut album Due Season. Seriously, he didn't even need a major distribution deal with Universal Motown to do those numbers, he coulda did that out the trunk! I hope Jim Jones, 8Ball & MJG did the nigga a favor by being on his album because if not then he's already in debt with his label. Now, nobody can say they expected some guy from Memphis named Kinfolk Kia Shine to do numbers but damn less than 10,000 is just pathetic for ANY artist on a major! Well best of luck to that nigga with his first (and more than likely last) major label release.

Now, on the flipside of the charts (proving Hip-Hop still has a little juice in this town) Common scores his first #1 with Finding Forever. I'm telling yall Kanye's touch is gold! Anyway Finding Forever isn't just G.O.O.D. Music...its great! Much respect to real music!

Oh yeah & Mr. #1 single in the country Sean F. Kingston dropped & flopped this week. Unbelievable... but not surprising lol.
