Random News Shit: Hip-Hop News Edition

1) Jay-Z & Alicia Keys Record Empire State of Mind Part 2
Now in the news story it says the sequel will feature "a new verse from Jay." Singular. What are they gonna do with the rest of the song?? Are they gonna play 2 of the other verses?? Is Alicia gonna drop some verses?? Will they let the beat ride?? And as far as the verse goes, what is he gonna talk about?? Will he throw a jab at Beans?? I'm almost positive he'll make mention of the Yankees winning their 27th championship. Oh well, we'll see.

Empire State of Mind Part 2 will be on Alicia Keys' new album The Element Of Freedom due December 15th.

2) Game's The R.E.D. Album Pushed Back
The new release date is February 16th, 2010 according to the man himself via Twitter. I hope he makes some better shit than what he's put out so far. All that shit has been WEAK! I wouldn't be surprised if the real reason his album got pushed back was the negative response to the records he dropped last week. Not impressive whatsoever.

3) Mr Hudson Says Kanye Is Back To Rapping
In a guest blog in the UK's Daily Star, Mr Hudson wrote the following:

"And Kanye’s getting back into rapping. He might make an old-school record on a tape deck, like the Beastie Boys used to do. Just a drum machine, ghetto blaster and a microphone."

That would be nice, especially coming off of that 808s & Heartbreak bullshit. The white world chewed him up and spit him out and now its time for him to come home and make some real music just like the good ol' days. I'm supporting you Yeezy!

4) Dame Dash Says He Has No Beef With Beanie Sigel, Jay-Z
And well he shouldn't. I blame Dame for everything, he was greedy and he ruined shit for himself. I could be wrong, but that's just how it seems to me.

5) Mos Def, Curren$y, & Jay Electronica Record Group Album
They're going by the name Center Edge Territory and they already have 6 records in the bag. This should be interesting. We'll just have to wait and see if anything serious ever comes of this.

Speaking of groups, whatever happened to CRS?? That damn Us Placers came out in 2007! Maybe one day they'll give their 2nd song lol.

6) Redman Auto-Tunes New Album

Guess Who's Back?!

Did you miss me?? Probably not but whatever I love you anyway lol. Man, AT&T was really fucking' with me (still no word on why it took over a week to transfer service from upstairs to downstairs).

Of course I feel like writing, so lets go down the list of shit I missed while I was gone:

Lil Wayne sued the DJs (Lame.), Jamie Foxx got stalked (Weird.), Rick Ross lied again (50 is destroying your career and livelihood so of course we're gonna believe he wanted to pay you to leave him alone. The Delusional Rapper strikes again!), Officer Powell resigned (I kinda feel bad for the nigga now... then again, no I don't lol.), Run-DMC got inducted into the Rock Hall Of Fame, Brian Dawkins helped dude Philly fired over Facebook, Iverson out for the season (Go ahead and sell your Iverson Pistons jerseys now because they'll be worthless in a couple months when he's no longer with the team.), Jay Cutler got traded to the Bears (The Bears gave up waaaaay too much. I also hope Cutler knows there's no Brandon Marshall or Eddie Royal waiting for him in Chicago lol.), a judge rejected Mike Vick (These white folks aren't gonna let that shit go are they??), the Giants cut Plax (This makes me feel a little better about the T.O. situation), the new Sidekick got a release date (I'm seriously considering getting it if the price is right), Seth Rogen hosted SNL and Andy Samberg is a BOSS (Classic shit lol.), Bishop Lamont got dropped, then he didn't (lol), KING Magazine went out of business (One of the saddest days of my life.), Barack went to Iraq (I think he and Bush have gone about the same amount of times already lol.), Dame Dash got exposed (Big deal.), Manu out for the season (Its official, the Lakers are going back to the Finals.), Chris Brown plead not guilty (Huh?? Well who else beat Rihanna's dumbass up?? I mean you even apologized for it lol), Lil Scrappy signed with DTP (Waste of a roster spot.), Mos Def challenged Jay-Z and Wayne (I'd love to see it. Wayne would come in last obviously lol.), UNC won another National Championship (The only thing good that happened to my bracket since the first couple days of the tourney lol.), Jim Jones got arrested and Twittered it (How lame is this shit?? Its takes all the gangsta-ness out of the arrest.), J-Hood dissed Joe Budden (Why???), UConn's girls went undefeated (Again.), and Blake Griffin, Jodie Meeks, and DeJuan Blair all entered the NBA draft.

Yep, I think that's about it lol.

The True Jim Jones Documentary Trailer

Apparently Jim Jones and Dame Dash's business relationship goes much further than just Dame hosting his Harlem's American Gangster mixtape. I guess Dame is trying to mold Jimmy into another Jay-Z, but if so that'll never happen though I still think Jim is that nigga...he's just not Jay. Anyway, check out the trailer:


I dunno about classic like Dame said, but the album does sound kinda hot off the few snippets we heard so I'll definitely be checking for it whenever it drops. Hopefully he has another Ballin' in the stash somewhere lol.
