Udonis Haslem Suspended For Game 6

This is such bullshit and waaaay overblown. As you can see from the picture, Udonis hits Hansbrough squarely on the shoulders. If he would've done that without Hansbrough ever racking Wade across the face and drawing blood, we wouldn't even be talking about this. Hansbrough didn't even almost get injured because again, Haslem hit him on the shoulder. He didn't push him out of the air, he didn't throw a flying elbow at him, he slapped down on his shoulder. Big whoop! David Stern did more damage to the Lakers by vetoing the Chris Paul trade than Haslem did to Hansbrough. Whatever.

In addition to the BS suspension of Haslem, Dexter Pittman was also suspended, but not just for one got, he got 3. I was actually expecting more, but I guess Stern realized the insignificance of Dexter Pittman throwing a Metta World Elbow at Lance Stephenson. Neither play, not really a big deal either way.

As far as Game 6 goes, with Chris Bosh already out, this Haslem injury really puts us in a bind. You know Ronny Turiaf is gonna get in foul trouble and our only other serviceable big man is Joel Anthony, so it looks like either Juwan Howard or Eddy Curry is gonna have to give us 10-15 minutes. This series could easily be heading towards a Game 7. I hope not, but we're small as fuck.

Random News Shit: NBA Free Agency Edition Pt. 6

SACRAMENTO, CA - DECEMBER 06: Udonis Haslem #40 of the Miami Heat drives to the basket during their game against the Sacramento Kings at ARCO Arena on December 6, 2009 in Sacramento, California.
Welp so much for the question "how are the Heat going to find players to fill out their roster?" Not only did they retain Udonis Haslem, but he's bringing his old roommate from UF, Mike Miller, along for the ride. Sweet!

UD turned down more lucrative deals with Denver and Dallas to stay home in Miami, so the man should be applauded. Unlike LeBron James, UD is actually FROM the city he plays for, not miles and miles away.

This time last week the Heat only had 2 players on their roster (Chalmers and Beasley), now they're up to 7 as the 7'3" Lithuanian (and former LeBron teammate) agrees to join the show. Finally Miami adds big body to the mix, and they'll probably need 1 or 2 more. I'm not shocked they picked him over Shaq considering the way Shaq bashed the club after he was traded in 2008.

No word on if Dan Gilbert as completed his angry open letter to Zydrunas.

3) Jazz Acquire Al Jefferson In Trade
The Jazz get Al Jefferson, the Wolves get 2 future first round picks. Great, now we can get reports about Jefferson's 2011 season-ending inury out of Utah instead of Minnesota.

This comes after backing out of the 3-team deal that would've sent Chandler to the Raptors Monday. Good for the Bobcats...though I still wish they would've swung a shocker and sent him to the Wolves to continue building the Minnesota Unachievers.

Good for Q. He revitalized in Miami last season, and now he's moving on. I guess shooting wide open 3's isn't his thing.

6) Kobe To Meet With Raja Bell About Joining Lakers
Well this is fine as long as Kobe knows the Heat could have him if they want him. Seems like the Heat and Lakers are in an arms race, right??

7) Nets Acquire Anthony Morrow In A Sign-and-Trade
The Nets will continue to suck well into the 2011 season, but they now have their hands on one of the hottest up and coming shooters the league has to offer. I would've loved to have him in Miami.

The deal is for three-years and worth $12 million.
