Rich Boy - Country Club

Damn Rich has a terrible looking golf stance (to be fair to him, I've never golfed before so mine is possibly even worse lol... but probably not).

Anyway, I fuck with this track here. Nice, calm, collected. I like it. My favorite line was "Get up off yo ass nigga, try and get a fuckin' check. Maybe then yo' girlfriend'll kiss yo' dick and not yo' neck." Very Big Boi-ish lol.

MuZik!! (That Really Isn't Good Enough To Be On My Site)

Just giving the heads up now, all this shit is pretty wack lol.

Good news and bad news. The good news is that this is the wackest song of the bunch. The bad news is that its included in the bunch because "wack" really isn't a strong enough word to sum up what Gucci Mane does.

There's really no nice way to say this, but this song fuckin' sucks! Sounds like some shit you'd hear as a parody in a comedy. Some of it was off beat and shit too. I almost didn't bother waiting around for Kanye.

Better than the Kanye one but this may rival Turn My Swag On for least amount of lyrics in a song.

Just in case you thought Cam was becoming a decent rapper he drops this to let you know he's still his wack rapping self lol.

Not bad as far as Chris Brown songs go, but not good as far as good songs go lol.

Not terrible really, but it was pretty generic and boring so it fits into what I was going for with this post. If its any constellation this is the best of these terrible songs lol.

Dawn ALMOST escaped being put in this post, but the auto-tuned did her in. I was even gonna overlook the fact that she probably found this in the trash can of an old Danity Kane recording session.

Rich Boy - Kool-Aid Kush & Convertibles

I'm not in love with the hook, but this beat is a monster. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that he recorded this in Miami or just after he left Miami because this shit is so Florida.

Rich Boy Feat. Polow Da Don - Drop

New album 5 Million coming 2009.

Rich Boy Feat. Polow Da Don - Drop

Are we sure Bangladesh didn't produce this beat because it got annoying almost immediately after it dropped lol. Maybe if they turn the lil sample thing down some it would sound better, but Rich seemed to be doing decent at the least.

Young Buck - United Snakes Of America/Hit A Hata

Young Buck Feat. Larry Davis - United Snakes Of America

This shit is ridin'! But umm who is Larry Davis and how did he contribute to this track?? lol.

Young Buck Feat. Rich Boy - Hit A Hata (Prod. By Polow Da Don)

I dunno Buck, this shit was kinda wack. The beat was't hot, the sample was dumb, the verses were aight...just not a great afford.

Rich Boy Is Back!

I knew this Bigger Than The Mayor mixtape dropped last week, but now I know he's actually coming out with a second album later this year called Buried Alive. That's good news for me because I predicted he'd be one of only 3 potential one-hit wonders that just might beat the odds. I shouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusion though because I dunno how big his buzz might grow again, but good luck to the young man.

Here he is with Mixtape Monday talking about the mixtape:

Damn that Wrist Out The Window song is so bad lol. Thank goodness its only a mixtape! I think Haters Wish makes up for it though, that shit had me about to stop what I was doing to put the mixtape on lol.

More info on Rich's album as I get it.

Rich Boy - Wrist Out The Window/Monsta

Here's some new Rich Boy for you and it really ain't lookin' good for him lol.

Rich Boy Feat. Shawty Lo - Wrist Out The Window

LMAO!! This shit is terrible! This nigga said "I fuck cuties, you booty" lol. Damn this shit was sooo bad! And wassup with his changing flows up from wack rapper to wacker rapper?? He went from Rich to Lo to Gucci lol. I hope this isn't what he's gonna use for his comeback or its really over for this nigga. Someone delete Shawty Lo's number out of Rich's phone and find Polow immediately!

Rich Boy - Monsta

Better than Wrist Out The Window, but that's really not an accomplishment since that shit wasn't good at all lol. I knew he wasn't that good without Polow but damn lol.

Leaders Of The New School??

I meant to post this awhile ago but I totally forgot about it! I'm with XXL for the most part, but I really don't see how Plies, Gorilla Zoe, and Lil Boosie come in here lol. Okay, I'll give you Plies (even though he's 31!) but theres NO WAY Gorilla Zoe and Boosie make it through lol. Plus, where is Jae Millz?? Well at least they didn't have Soulja Boy or Hurricane Chris which would have been an insult to Lupe, Saigon, Pap, etc. lol. Well I have nothing else to say about this really so I jacked this from King Jerm and B-Easy at nappyafro.com lol:

Saigon
King Jerm: First off all, I see him on TV more than I hear his music. He was on Entourage, The White Rapper Show; has he even released an album yet?

B-Easy: I really pull for Saigon; I was really feeling that Return Of The Yardfather. Even though he has talent I don’t see him blowing up even with the Just Blaze backing. Oh yea, he has a nice punch too.

Plies
K: One more album and he’s done. But that time could be extended by a shooting or an arrest.
B: I don’t really see a future for a 31 year old Trick Daddy clone who appeals to the ladies.

Rich Boy
K: Future?
B: He has a good team behind him; Roc-A-Wear ads, shoe spokesman, and features on other people’s songs. I wouldn’t bet in his favor but he may surprise us.

Lupe Fiasco
K: The skateboard fad was so last year. He never lived up to the buzz.
B: With Kanye’s recent success, the rap game might be getting ready to be flooded with "regular guys" instead of super thugs and pimps. Lupe is already there so he has a chance.

Lil’ Boosie
K: With the money he makes touring, he gonna do pretty good. But musically, I personally can’t listen to him.
B: Besides me not being able to pronounce his name right and the fact that I think he should categorized as "ringtone rap"…uh, I like the “Wipe Me Down” video (It could have been worse!).

Gorilla Zoe
K: Maybe he appeals to the 13-21 crowds, but I love that "Hood Nigga" song.
B:
Is he really a "leader of the new school?" I couldn’t point him out in a line up with five white guys.

Joell Ortiz
K: Who is this guy? Is he related to that girl from City High?
B: If he wants an album to come out in the next decade, he’s gotta stop messing with Dr. Dre/Aftermath (Just ask Rakim, Hitman, Six-Two, Brooklyn, G.A.G.E., Eve, etc.)

Crooked I
K: They had to put a dude from the West coast on the list.
B: I hear he freestyles really well, but I think The Game is gonna rule the west for a while.

Papoose
K: I’m scared to diss him cause he Kay Slay’s boy. He can rap, but he ain’t saying nothing.
B: I still don’t buy that he got a $1.5 million record deal. He’s not a bad rapper, just not a million dollar rapper who will sell a lot of records.

Young Dro
K: The only cat I co-sign on the list. The best dude on Grand Hustle and I mean THE BEST (Including T.I.). The only one on the list with a plaque (Gold).
B: I think he has a lot a potential, not leader of the new school potential. I like the way he dress (No homo).

Rich Boy - Let's Get This Paper

I always loved this song and its always been my favorite on the album (even though I did have a few I REALLY liked). A few months ago AHH did like an editorial on it and on the comments I said "if Rich had any balls he'd do a video for it." A lot of people took that as me saying he needs to release it as a single, but I know 1) that's Interscope's decision, not his 2) you don't get 3rd singles when your 2nd singles doesn't do anything so it would be retarded for me to even be thinking that way. I just meant he needed to do something with the song himself because this would bring him a bigger fan base and show he has another side besides Throw Some D's. Well he did that and here's the video, check it out:

Hot shit! Don't expect to see this on MTV or BET because its not going to happen. I'm happy he did something with this song because most people would have never heard it due to the typecast placed on him from being from the South and having Throw Some D's. Anyway, big ups to Rich for doing this and here's his I Will Not Lose campaign video, if you haven't seen it:

Speaking Of Bricks...

Speaking of bricks (last blog post), I just took a look at the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and I see Soulja Boy's fuckery... "Crank That" has moved all the way up to #14. Man, I REALLY can't wait until this example of how NOT to rap (& speak I mean damn what is this nigga even saying?? He sounds like Lil Darryl and shit lol) drops his debut Souljaboytellem.com so I can get another great his laugh. Shit aint like it used to be when all you need was a "hot" song out to sell records, NOPE now you actually have to have some sort of talent or your career is over before it starts. Just this year we've had a string of potential and confirmed one-hit wonders such as Shop Boyz, Huey, Hurricane Chris, MIMS, Yung Berg, Cupid, Jason Fox (if they actually played his record, thank goodness they don't lol) and the aforementioned Soulja Boy. That's a lot for 8 months, I mean we haven't seen this amount of one-hit wonders since the early 90's!

You can possibly add 3 more names to that list, but I'm a little more optimistic about them for some reason. Those few lucky men are Sean Kingston, Rich Boy, and Plies. Sean Kingston obviously (or not so obviously if you've only heard Beautiful Girls or that god-awful shit he did on the Make Me Better beat) has some talent so I'm not completely ready to put him down for the count. As it looks right now, he certainly has the statistics of a potential one-hit wonder (#1 single in the country, 74,700 records sold in his first week in stores), but with a little grooming and growth he at least has a chance to beat the odds. Right now I'd say he's around 50/50.

Rich Boy's "Throw Some D's" had one hit wonder written all over it, then his self-titled debut album dropped and flopped within its first month in stores BUT with his relationship with Polow Da Don he might have a little more time in the game than expected. Polow is producing hits left and right & he's no stranger to one-hit wonderdom (I made that up, like it?? lol) with Jim Crow a few years ago, maybe he'll steer Rich's rap career better than his own. Not to mention Rich has been added to Rocawear's "I Will Not Lose" campaign alongside Ciara which might prove to be a good sign (hell doing clothing campaigns worked for T.I. back when his career was in the gutter in like 2002). Rich Boy is gonna need someone to help him out with his speech because people not knowing what the hell he's saying is a problem (see Soulja Boy's "Crank That").

Then there's Plies. Oh boy! Plies, Plies, Plies lol. Mr. Fort Myers...or should I say "Pakistan" (that's a joke in itself for all my Florida people who have actually been there lol) is difficult because unlike Sean Kingston or Rich Boy he's doesn't have a huge smash "hit" record (yet). I mean "Shawty" is doing good but it has yet to crack the top 10 and MTV is JUST premiering it on TRL today (Aug. 9). Plies is also rather old for the rap game (31 years of age), but his look isn't old (well it is, but you know what I mean lol) so he's gonna be able to connect with that desperate-for-the-next-it-guy-to-profess-my-love-to

-for-the-next-three-months-until-his-hit-single-plays-out teenage girls. The main thing holding him back is surprisingly enough not his astonishingly ignorant content or his flip, flops from street nigga to acceptable nigga (depending on who's interviewing him of course lol), but his rather rap flow. Plies has a bad habit of trying to fit too many words into a bar too often to be taken seriously by real hip-hop fans (the people who really determine if you have a career or not).

Who really knows what the future holds because talented people have fallen off before and less talented people (::cough:: Chris Brown, Pretty Ricky, etc. ::cough:: lol) have stayed around longer than some of us expected and vice versa. I guess we're just going to have to wait and see, but I seem to have a habit of being right about these kinds of things.

Top Albums of 2007...So Far...

Welp we're half way thru 2007 & have made little to no progress as far
as whole albums is concerned...yes its sad but lets pray for a plentiful
2nd half!

Top 5 Albums of 2007...So Far...

1. Young Buck - Buck The World
Its a sad day in hip-hop when the best album of the year so far its over a 4/5 but that is the case here. This is the only album I've bought this
whole year becuz it is tight but just not as good as his debut. 3.75/5

2. Fabolous - From Nothin To Somethin
Fab obviously isn't goin to get any better but at least this album is
better than the trainwreck that was 2004's "Real Talk." 3.5/5

3. Rich Boy - Rich Boy
He shoulda named the album "Polow Da Don" becuz without Polow's
involvement this would have been another ringtone rapper flop...no wait
it was another ringtone rapper flop! Unfortunately for Rich Boy he
actually had other good & a few borderline great songs besides "Throw
Some D's." Still give most of the credit to Polow's production which
this album's saving grace. 3.5/5

4. T-Pain - Epiphany
Honestly, I don't even know if this album was tight or not I just know
after listening to R. Kelly's album it couldn't have gotten any worse
lol. 3.5/5

5. Redman - Red Gone Wild: Thee Album
Reg was a little rusty but his album was still good enuff to make this
list. 3.5/5

Worst 5 Albums of 2007...So Far...

1. Shop Boyz - Rockstar Mentality
Well, well, well what can I say about this album that hasn't already
been said about Lindsay Lohan's pussy...I'll let yall finish that joke.
0/5

2. Pretty Ricky - Late Night Special
Just look at them...only one even has any talent, the others just jump
around like fools & scream on the records. 1.5/5

3. Baby Boy Da Prince - Across The Water
Didn't even need to listen to this one. 1.5/5

4. DJ Khaled - We The Best
No nigga "we" aint the best (or at least the "we" you assembled) so stop
sayin that! Man I done came up half my life listenin to Khaled on 99Jamz
& love his shit to def but this album really wasn't good...at all. I
hate to say so but I kinda saw this comin when the person who had the
best song on his last album (Kanye West) didn't show up this time.
Basically the only song worth listening to is the one with Beanie Sigel
murderin shit on a sick ass track...thaz pretty much it...& don't ask me
how they fucked up a song with Jadakiss, Trick Daddy, & The Game. 2.5/5

5. Huey - Notebook Paper
Huey went the ringtone rapper route but I had some hope for him seeing
that his lyrics weren't as terrible as others (i.e. Shop Boyz, Pretty
Ricky, etc.) but that was to no avail becuz we got the same result.
2.5/5

Dishonorable Mentions

R. Kelly - Double Up
Damn R-ruh! This shit was bad...I mean real bad BUT fortunately for him
at least 5 others did worse. There were a few good songs, but damn its
like he lost his idenity becuz there is hardly any slow jams on here,
just an abundance of ignorant songs (some of which he doesn't even
bother rhyming on). It really seems like instead of other young R&B cats
learning from him, he's tryin to learn from them...R. Kelly's ass is
trippin! 3/5

USDA - Cold Summer
I was expectin more from this album after hearin the song "Corporate
Thuggin" (well Jeezy's verse at least) & The Inspiration but nope it was
WACK! Back to the drawing board...or should I say "101." 3/5

Sa-Ra - The Hollywood Recordings
I don't even know what to say about this...I truly didn't know what was
goin on which is why I turned it off & deleted it...hopefully their
G.O.O.D. Music debut will actully have good music on it. N/A...I still
confused lol.

Top 5 Mixtapes of 2007...So Far...

1. The Game - Youknowhatitis Vol. 4
Of course Game wasn't gonna disappoint but damn he might out did himself
on this one! 4.75/5

2. Kanye West - Can't Tell Me Nothin
Pure genius! You really can't tell him nothin if he's gon keep puttin
out classic material. Can't wait til "Graduation" drops! 4.5/5

3. Tru Life - Tru York
I knew Tru was nice but he just solidified it becuz dude was spittin!
4.25/5

4. Styles P. - The Ghost Sessions
SP does it again! This was pure mixtape murder in the 1st degree.
4.25/5

5. Jadakiss - The Come Up
I can't decide what I liked more the mixtape or the DVD lol. 4/5

Honorable Mention

Trey Songz - The Ladies Choice
Trey needs to be respected becuz he embodies talent most R&B dudes could only dream to obtain...he's not a bad rapper either. But really though, what other R&B cats is droppin mixtapes?? 4/5

Worst Mixtapes of 2007...So Far...

Lil Wayne - Da Drought 3
If you like hearing rhymes about fuckin hoes, poppin pills, jewelry, and
allegedly being a Blood that make little, to no sense then Lil Wayne is
your man & Da Drought 3 is your mixtape! This shit was extremely bad!
Jam packed with wack one liners that will be sure to send the average
D.R.A. (Dick Riders of America) thru the roof in anticipation for Tha
Carter 3. There was one decent song on here (Promise)...wasn't really an
original idea considering I wrote the same shit while the song was still
out...oh well he beat me to recording somethin once again lol. 1.5/5

Lil Wayne - Tha Carter 3 Sessions
Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, DUN D-DUN! ...the "best
rapper alive" decides to "bless" us with songs from Tha Carter 3! I'll
try to keep this brief, but if he uses ANY of these songs on his album
he should consider suicide....yeah it was THAT bad! Before he releases
the real version he better go find Mannie Fresh & suck his dick for some
beats (we all know he's not opposed to homosexuality lol) becuz the
production is terrible, especially from someone that is "rich." Then
there's the lyrics...oh my goodness the lyrics! I'll just stop now becuz
its only gonna get me mad. -5/5

-Fortunately I pick my mixtapes out better than my albums so thats the extent of the worst mixtapes for me lol.

--------------------------
-

Aight well look for a dramatically differently lookin list of top albums
come January 1, 2008 with Kanye, Common, & hopefully Dr. Dre or Eminem droppin in the upcoming months.
