Lionel Richie's Tuskegee remains #1 for a 2nd week. What is this, 1986?? Believe it or not, 41,000 people bought Garbage Ass Future's (his new name) shitty album Pluto and it debuts at #8. I know that's still not a whole lot, but nobody should be buying that trash.

Gotye's Somebody That I Used to Know also remains at #1 for another week, while Maroon 5's Payphone featuring Wiz Khalifa debuts at #3.

Thursday Billboard Update - 12/29/11

Being that Christmas is over, this is most likely Michael Buble's Christmas last week on top. If it is, he goes out with a bang with 467,000 sold. Likely to takeover for Buble next week is Adele's 21, which remains on fire at #2 with another 399,000 sold. Either way, she's locked up the best selling album of 2011 as 21 has sold 5.68 million since its release in North America on February 22nd. Debuting at #3 is Young Jeezy's TM103: Hustlerz Ambition with 232,938 sold.

After 8 straight weeks, Rihanna's We Found Love gets dethroned by LMFAO's Sexy And I Know It. Entering the top 10 this week is Adele's Set Fire To The Rain (13-7) and Big Sean's Dance (A$$) remix with Nicki Minaj (12-10). This is Big Sean's first top 10 record, and Nicki's 4th.

Thursday Billboard Update - 11/17/11

A new day is clearly here in Hip-Hop because yet another new artist had a huge first week of sales. This time it's Mac Miller with his debut album Blue Slide Park, which pushed 144,487 in week 1. Making those numbers even more impressive is the fact that Mac is an independent artist and Blue Slide Park is the first independently-distributed debut album to hit #1 since Tha Dogg Pound's Dogg Food in 1995. Big shit!

Rihanna's We Found Love spends a 3rd week at #1 as 2 new tracks enter the top 10. Bruno Mars' It Will Rain (12-9) finally makes it and Taylor Swift's If This Was A Movie debuts at #10.

Thursday Billboard Update - 6/2/11

Adele's 21 has ruled the Billboard 200 thus far in 2011...then Lady Gaga's Born This Way dropped. Born This Way sold 1,108,400 albums first week, the most any album has sold since 50 Cent's The Massacre in 2005. All isn't bad for Adele though as 21 sells another 126,000 and is rounding the bases on double platinum. Also, Maybach Music Group's Self Made Vol. 1 debuts at #5 with 58,900 sold.

Adele's Rolling In The Deep remains #1 for a 5th consecutive week, but the big story today is DJ Khaled's I'm on One featuring Drake, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne skyrocketing 68 positions 78-10. Now if you ask me, it's the most overrated song of the year, but the people seem to love it so there you have it. And this marks DJ Khaled's first career top 10.

XXL 2011 Freshman Class Cover

I love when these XXL cover come out, it's like the local rapper renaissance. The internet is flooding right now with local rappers no one has ever heard of saying they should've been on the cover over [insert rapper who made the cover]. It's sad, but it's funny as fuck lol.

Anyway, I'm fine with the cover this year with the exception of Lil Twist. I mean, not only doesn't he fit on the cover (he looks like he just Lil Mama'd this issue and jumped in the background), but he doesn't fit on this cover. He's the one with no buzz. Quick, name me one hot Lil Twist song. No, fuck that, just name me one Lil Twist song. You can't. Now, I won't say who should be on the cover, but Lil Twist definitely shouldn't.
