1) Its good to see Hurricane Chris still living.
2) Who is that girl in Chris' bed?? She looks soooo fuckin' familiar! I KNOW I've seen her before, but I can't put my finger on where.
3) Plies, tucked in shirt?? Really??
4) That "Duncan Hines/I get you moist" line was wack when Cam'ron said it, and it still wack when Plies said it.
5) I do like the song, its pretty generic, but its better than most girl songs.

This Week In Flops 3/11/08
It pains to put such a good album here, but as you might or might not know anything I think will sale less than 300,000 is a flop. I think Ross would have been better off keeping his original release date on the 18th and going up against fellow Poe Boy rapper Flo Rida and Danity Kane, or even better on the 25th against Day26, but I guess that's why I don't work at Def Jam lol. Rick Ross is a cool dude and this Trilla album bangs, but I think with Snoop and Fat Joe drawing away from his sales he'll fall into the 175-225k range, which isn't bad might I add lol. Hopefully does better and I'll be in Circuit City coppin' mine this Friday.
This is another hard album that I hate to see here, but I gotta do what I gotta do. Now, minus the Papoose fight and G-Unit mixtape promotion I'd put Joey in about the 60-75k range going off the buzz of his single I Won't Tell, BUT having all these Hip-Hop sites and blogs on fire never hurts when it comes to sales. I think Fat Joe will do about 130-160k in his first week which is also not bad for any artist now-a-days, but even better for one on an independent label like Joe.
Who knows why Kelis has a greatest hits album seeing that she only has like 2 or 3 hits and got dropped from her label recently, but whatever. Seeing how much her actual albums sold you can't expect much from this shit so I got her doing around 5-15k. Now, this is not to say I don't like Kelis because I still thinks she's fine as hell and most likely a straight freak, but whoever had the idea to drop this (I'm sure it was Kelis) should be dropped.
This shit should probably be in Photoshop Police another than This Week In Flops, but I'll spare it for now lol. Damn, the art work is just so bad it makes me not wanna talk about it lol. Fuck it, no one knows this shit is droppin' and its a bunch of old ass shit he did before A Bay Bay (like that Rick Ross Rise To Power shit...just with much worse art work lol) so it won't sale shit regardless lol. The cover alone wouldn't even let me pick it up to read the back if I saw it in the store so I'm sure this won't do anything outside the 5-10k range.

Mike Jones Feat. Hurricane Chris - Drop & Gimme 50 Animated Video
That's right, its an animated video full of all the electronic hoes and digital booty poppin' you've come accustom to in real life. E-hoes aside, the best part of this video is the cracky lookin' nigga at the beginning with the chapped lips. How yo' lips dry in a digital recreation?? Beyond me, but check out the video:
They should probably just scrap the original video and you this, t least it would have a few more people talking. Whatever, who knows why I'm even subscribed to Mike Jones' channel in the 1st place lol.

How Wack Is This??
I dunno how new or old this cover is, but its just more reason why The Source is now the butt hole of the industry lol.

Hurricane Chris Vs. Cipha Sounds
Y'all know Cipha is stupid as fuck (in a good way lol) right? Well he freestyle battled Hurricane Chris and here's the footage to prove it lol:
LMAO! I aint gon' lie, Hurricane is kinda nice off the dome, but Ciph smashed him! lol. Naw, this shit was all fun, but it sure was funny. Am I the only one who felt like the shit was gonna just shut off when Hurricane started saying faggot and homo?? lol.

I'm Guessing This Is The End
I'm not doing my weekly Billboard updates until much later today, but I'm just letting you know now to NOT expect to see Hurricane Chris in the top 10...not even the top 20! I mean I told y'all his shit was gonna flop because his label waited WAYYY too long to put his album out but damn this dude only sold 26,000! That's pathetic to say the least! Welp, I guess its safe to say his 15 minutes is all but up now lol.

This Week In Flops 10/23/07
Whats good yall? Sorry I couldn't come this with The Week In Flops last week, but yall know how my internet situation was but anyway fuck that I'm back! Now, don't expect a big debut from anyone this week because if you are you'll undoubtedly be disappointed. The #1 album WILL be Carrie Underwood's Carnival Ride, but a lil further down the chart will be Chris Hurricane Chris' debut album 51/50 Ratchet. His label did him a TERRIBLE injustice by releasing his album about 2 months after his single A Bay Bay played out and his buzz is all but gone. Whatever the case, his album actually wasn't half bad, but that won't stop him from doing about 50-70k first week.
Even further down the chart will be JD's greatest hits album Y'all Know What This Is... The Hits which I'm guessing do about 15-25k with little to no promo.
Its all downhill from there because none of the rest of the Hip-Hop debuts will even sale over 10,000 including Little Brother's Get Back, Bizarre's Blue Cheese 'N' Choney Island, and Trae's Life Goes On. The good thing is that none of those albums are on majors so they'll be fine.

Video Day Continues With Da Booth!
Aight yall we gon' do this from old to new, enjoy:
Gorilla Zoe 9/21
I guess this was aight, but this nigga needs to go get some water or somthing lol.
Crime Mob 9/25
Damn they suck so bad LMAO!! The second dude is just wack for no reason and has NO flow whatsoever. If you never saw the last time they were in Da Booth you need to check that out! I don't know which one was worse. The next time they come on Rap City they should just act like the mic isn't even there lol.
Chamillionaire 9/26
He should ALWAYS spit acappella because he has no flow so when you try to put it to a beat he always sounds off. The only time he EVER impressed me was the 3 times I heard him spit with no beat (this being one). Just remember that Cham, NO MORE BEATS!
Master P & Romeo 9/27
I just have a few questions:
- Where the hell is Romeo's shirt?
- Why did Master P rap?
- Why did they pick Umbrella to rap on?
- Why is Romeo trying so hard to rap like Gillie Da Kid...oh I'm sorry, Lil Wayne? (Not cool)
- Why is Romeo trying so hard to act like Lil Wayne?
- Why does Romeo have the Cookie Monster on his chain? That's a wack nickname lol.
You already know what time it is with Pap, he kills it as expected.
Gillie Da Kid 9/29
Do people still really think Lil Wayne "made up" his own style?? Oh, aight...
Anyway, Gillie smashed it.
Hurricane Chris 9/29
You gotta love Whoo Kid, POW! lol. Anyway, I can't be mad at Hurricane for this one. Well the rap part at least, but I am mad that he looks like Venus Williams back in '98 lol. Oh yeah, stop promoting your album because your buzz died with Ay Bay Bay.
Yung Berg 9/29
He's another one that needs to stop promoting their album. It's a wrap for you and you missed your window of opportunity to drop the album. With that being said, he did rip it so props lol.
Common 9/29
Man I was disappointed as hell when I first saw this. Guess what? I still am!! I haven't been this let down from Da Booth in awhile especially from someone who usually freestyles and rips it. Note to all rappers: PLEASE don't spit a verse from your album on Rap City ESP if your album has already dropped lol.

Light Breeze Hurricane Chris - Hand Clap
Unfortunately this '98 Williams sisters looking dude that goes by the name Hurricane Chris, hasn't quite realized how this whole 'one-hit wonder' thing goes and decided to release an equally terrible follow-up to the annoying A Bay Bay. The song is called Hand Clap, but it obviously gets no applause from me.This nigga actually had the balls to rhyme, "row, row, row, your boat gently down the stream..." into the song, yeah I know, genius! Muhfucka, just release your weed plate album, let that bitch flop, and move on with your life doing whatever it is you can after your 15 minutes is up. I really shouldn't subject you to listening to such fuckery BUT here is this generation's idea of a hit record, the future of Hip-Hop still looks grave:

STFU Award - Week of 8/19/07 - Mr. Collipark
Anytime you have Soulja Boy and/or Hurricane Chris in the same sentence as [or even in the general vicinity of] the word talent, you know we have a STFU Award recipient in the making. In this week's Mixtape Monday, former Ying Yang Twins producer Mr. Collipark had this to say regarding the his 2 newest "artists":
"It's incredible to find two talents like that in that short period of time, but the records they were pushing, most people just walk by them. Most people that heard 'A Bay Bay' before it popped just wrote it off as a gimmick, but that's my advantage. 'Cause I know a hit record. I know what people want to hear. I don't give a damn what another rapper or what another producer wants to hear. I know what they want to hear in the streets. So when I hear a record like 'A Bay Bay,' it's a no-brainer to me."
No need to even go on just STFU Collipark because anyone with a brain can see you're just using these kids for their one hit record. This time next year no one will even remember who they were...damn shame, oh well lol.

Speaking Of Bricks...
Speaking of bricks (last blog post), I just took a look at the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and I see Soulja Boy's fuckery... "Crank That" has moved all the way up to #14. Man, I REALLY can't wait until this example of how NOT to rap (& speak I mean damn what is this nigga even saying?? He sounds like Lil Darryl and shit lol) drops his debut Souljaboytellem.com so I can get another great his laugh. Shit aint like it used to be when all you need was a "hot" song out to sell records, NOPE now you actually have to have some sort of talent or your career is over before it starts. Just this year we've had a string of potential and confirmed one-hit wonders such as Shop Boyz, Huey, Hurricane Chris, MIMS, Yung Berg, Cupid, Jason Fox (if they actually played his record, thank goodness they don't lol) and the aforementioned Soulja Boy. That's a lot for 8 months, I mean we haven't seen this amount of one-hit wonders since the early 90's!
You can possibly add 3 more names to that list, but I'm a little more optimistic about them for some reason. Those few lucky men are Sean Kingston, Rich Boy, and Plies. Sean Kingston obviously (or not so obviously if you've only heard Beautiful Girls or that god-awful shit he did on the Make Me Better beat) has some talent so I'm not completely ready to put him down for the count. As it looks right now, he certainly has the statistics of a potential one-hit wonder (#1 single in the country, 74,700 records sold in his first week in stores), but with a little grooming and growth he at least has a chance to beat the odds. Right now I'd say he's around 50/50.
Rich Boy's "Throw Some D's" had one hit wonder written all over it, then his self-titled debut album dropped and flopped within its first month in stores BUT with his relationship with Polow Da Don he might have a little more time in the game than expected. Polow is producing hits left and right & he's no stranger to one-hit wonderdom (I made that up, like it?? lol) with Jim Crow a few years ago, maybe he'll steer Rich's rap career better than his own. Not to mention Rich has been added to Rocawear's "I Will Not Lose" campaign alongside Ciara which might prove to be a good sign (hell doing clothing campaigns worked for T.I. back when his career was in the gutter in like 2002). Rich Boy is gonna need someone to help him out with his speech because people not knowing what the hell he's saying is a problem (see Soulja Boy's "Crank That").
Then there's Plies. Oh boy! Plies, Plies, Plies lol. Mr. Fort Myers...or should I say "Pakistan" (that's a joke in itself for all my Florida people who have actually been there lol) is difficult because unlike Sean Kingston or Rich Boy he's doesn't have a huge smash "hit" record (yet). I mean "Shawty" is doing good but it has yet to crack the top 10 and MTV is JUST premiering it on TRL today (Aug. 9). Plies is also rather old for the rap game (31 years of age), but his look isn't old (well it is, but you know what I mean lol) so he's gonna be able to connect with that desperate-for-the-next-it-guy-to-profess-my-love-to
Who really knows what the future holds because talented people have fallen off before and less talented people (::cough:: Chris Brown, Pretty Ricky, etc. ::cough:: lol) have stayed around longer than some of us expected and vice versa. I guess we're just going to have to wait and see, but I seem to have a habit of being right about these kinds of things.
