If for some reason you haven't heard, Ricky Rubio is out for the season with a torn ACL. You hate to hear stories like this happen to someone so talented, especially when his team was on the verge of making the playoffs for the first time since the KG-era.
Personally, I'm blaming those wack ass throwback uniforms.

Ricky Rubio Agrees To Join Minnesota Next Season
(Side note: This is just what Minnesota needed to take the next step, another point guard. Of course.)

Random News Shit: SportsCenter Edition
There was a bet going on Streak For The Cash about how many total games would be played in Venus' match with Vera Dushevina. Your 2 options were as follows: 15 games or fewer OR 16 games or more. Thirty-four games were played.
I wanted her to go over 16, but damn! It was cool at first because I was winning, but then my girl V was really in danger of losing. It was crazy! BUT she did survive though I'm not sure how much further she can go with that bad knee.
2) Ricky Rubio Agrees To... Stay In Spain
I would comment on this, but I can't say it any better than Bill Simmons did last night so without any further ado, take the mic Sports Guy:
"So Minny traded [Randy] Foye & [Mike] Miller for $18 mill of bad contracts + the right to negotiate with Rubio 2 summers from now? Savvy!"
"ESPN's Chris Sheridan is reporting that Isiah Thomas just called David Kahn to congratulate him on his wheeling and dealing."
Questions for D. Kahn's press conference: "On the bright side, it must have been nice to visit Spain a few times, right?"
Question for David Kahn's press conference: "Do you think the next Minnesota GM will be able to sign Rubio in 2011?"
Well said Mr. Simmons, well said.
3) Osi Umenyiora Gets Missing
Alright Bill Sheridan! Up high baby! Sheridan is a much better fit for my Cowboys than Steve Spagnuolo ever was. Hell, I hope he keep alienating his top defensive players. Is it too early to join his fan club because I'm ready now?
4) Tom Brady's Shoulder Okay, Plans To Play In MNF Opener
A collective sigh of relief could be heard coming from all the white NFL analysts at ESPN headquarters in Bristol, CT when this news broke.
5) Pacman Signs 1-Year Deal To Play In CFL
Well really, what other choice did he have?? Nobody in the NFL was gonna sign this guy so it was either this or that new league that's out that I already forgot the name of lol.

A Few Thoughts On The NBA Draft
Obviously I was too busy celebrating Michael Jackson's legacy to pay much attention to the NBA Draft.
First off, I see Blake Griffin didn't heed Bill Simmons advice and run for the hills and away from the Clippers. That's a decision he'll regret in a few years. Hasheem Thabeet too. Thabeet is destined to be Stromile Swift 2.0 lol.
Anyway, how does Ricky Rubio fall to #5?? Nobody needed a super-talented point guard?? Well Minnesota needed just that. In fact, they needed it so much that they picked a 2nd point guard after him in Jonny Flynn...and then a 3rd in Ty Lawson with the 18th pick (though they traded Lawson to Denver for a future pick). Not choosing Bill Simmons is working out great for the T'Wolves lol.
The Knicks can pretty much say goodbye to ANY chance that LeBron might come there to play in 2010 when they weren't able to get Stephen Curry at #8. Golden State wisely choose him 7th overall. Going back to the T'Wolves, if they were gonna picked 2 PGs back-to-back wouldn't it have made sense of the 2nd one to be Steph Curry?? Rubio can't shoot but he's a great passer and floor general and you could move Curry to SG and have him be like Iverson in '00-'01. But that would've made too much sense for Minny and they took two players that can't play at the same time lol.
I gotta feel bad for Jordan Hill because 1) he's going to the Knicks, 2) he got booed something crazy last night, and 3) he's going to the Knicks! Add Brandon Jennings to the list of players I feel bad for too because he goes from playing in L.A. to playing in Rome to playing in Milwaukee. Tough break nigga lol.
I don't care to go any further because any draft that has Tyler Hansbrough going 13th overall is obviously not worth the words. No disrespect to him, but if he's the 13th best player in your NBA draft class, that's not saying much. Then again, with MJ passing, it was appropriate that we had a weak draft class because now I don't feel bad for missing the draft lol.

Random News Shit: NBA Wheelin' & Dealin' Edition
How happy is Richard Jefferson today?? Yesterday he's on a Milwaukee Bucks who are going nowhere, and today he's on the San Antonio Spurs and most likely will be back contending for a title. That's how sports work these days.
Now officially the trade sends Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas, and Fabricio Oberto to the Bucks for Jefferson. It definitely makes sense for the Spurs but I guess it makes sense for the Bucks too depending on how you look at it. Currently I'm unable to look at from any positive standpoint. You bring out 3 old guys so you won't be any good next season. You got expiring contracts, but you're just making room to re-sign Charlie Villanueva or Ramon Sessions next year (yipidido!) because no free agents wants to live in Milwaukee.
2) Foye & Miller Headed To Wiz
Here's the trade: The Washington Wizards acquire Randy Foye and Mike Miller and send the #5 pick in Thursday's draft along with Oleksiy Pecherov, Etan Thomas and Darius Songaila to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Now the Wolves have the #5 and #6 picks in the draft BUT the bad news is this isn't that great of a draft class.
TNT's David Aldridge is reporting that they're possibly trying to package both of those picks to move up and take Spanish guard Ricky Rubio 2nd overall. Who knows, but I like Rubio with the T'Wolves a lot more if they wouldn't have traded O.J. Mayo on draft day last year. Who's running with Rubio on the fast break on this team?? All their other good players are big men. Then again, this type of combo did work out for the Spurs with a great big man (Tim Duncan) and non-shooting, incredible passing point guard (Tony Parker). Oh well, we'll see if they can even pull this off.
3) Boston Shopping Rondo and Allen??
This all spawned from a Yahoo! Sports report that reportedly had Boston trying to send Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen to Detroit for Rip Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, and Rodney Stuckey. A deal in which Joe Dumars and the Pistons turned down. If the rumors are true I gotta wonder why in the hell would you try to trade Rondo?? With KG out, he was arguably their best in the playoffs. I mean the guy was a triple-double waiting to happen. Something is going on in Boston that we don't know about but its very strange.
