Where they get all the gloves from?? Oh, and why?? I have yet to see thing promo on TV so it looks like a waste of time and money to me.
Anyway, Janet's performs will start at 9pm sharp so so much for her opening the show.

MJ Reigns Over The VMAs
Random News Shit: Pop Culture Edition
What's a better way to start off Random News Shit than a story about Ellen DeGeneres becoming a judge on American Idol!
Okay, there's 2 reasons why this is dumb and one reason why its smart. The reason its smart is because Ellen makes so much money off of her talk show that she probably won't demand to be paid as much as the other judges like Paula.
Now, its also dumb because 1) Ellen isn't a musician or songwriter of any sorts that I know of so people will be pissed by her unqualifiedness (yeah that's a new Fiyah word you won't find in the dictionary lol) and 2) she's replacing Paula and not Kara. I liked Paula but the jury is still out on Kara because she's taking speaking time away from Simon and not funny like Ellen. I mean at least Ellen would be saying something funny in the time she's taking from Simon, Kara is just wack.
Good luck to you Ellen.
2) Janet Jackson To Preform MJ Tribute At VMAs Sunday
Oh yeah the VMAs are Sunday, huh? Luckily for them I have no vested interest in watching every snap of the Packers/Bears game so I'll be checking for this. I know its gonna be the shit! Then again, after last year's show, it can't get any worse.
Anyway, I heard that Janet was gonna be opening up the show with the tribute so it should be a good look. Watch everybody talk about how much better the the VMA's MJ tirbutes were than the BET Awards ones even though MTV has had 2 and a half months to prepare lol.
I also heard Jay-Z was gonna be performing Empire State Of Mind with Alicia Keys so look for that too.
3) MJ Movie "This Is It" Trailer To Debuts on VMAs
I didn't even know they were making this movie. Oh well I'll see what its about but I probably won't wanna see it because its still too soon. I'm sorry, I just get that way about people who die. For example, I still haven't seen Soul Men because Bernie Mac is in it and he's been dead for over a year now. Its not you, its me lol.
4) Soulja Boy Wants To Collab With Jay-Z & Eminem
'Nuff said.
5) Uncensored Version Of "Gia" To Be Re-Released
Oooh this is a good look! I loooooved this movie! Then again, what 13 year-old kid in 1998 wouldn't?? HBO was so good to me back then. Awww the good ol' days. Angelina will always have a special place in my heart because of this and that other movie she did back then and showed her boobies in. I think it had Fire in the title, but I'm too lazy to Google it right now lol.
Anyway, I can't wait to see this scene! I mean it won't be as powerful as it would've been to me if it was still '98, but I'd still like to see it. No word on when this is coming out just yet though, but speaking of nudity...
6) Hugh Hefner Files for Divorce
I swear I didn't even know Hef was married lol. They've been separated since 1998! I know old people move slow but this takes it to a whole other level.
Oh well, Hef can do no wrong in my eyes because he's such an OG at this point.

A Few Thoughts On The BET Awards '09
Aight, lets start with the good (it'll be much quicker):
I loved the Jamie Foxx, Beat It dance intro from the tight ass Michael Jackson outfit to the Smooth Criminal lean assisted by the chick holding him up by the chest. Nice touch. Foxx's opening monologue was okay, I had already heard that story on Friday's episode of Foxxhole Radio so it didn't do anything for me but I was rolling when he tried to Moonwalk and down near busted his ass lol. Foxx was a great host.
Good thing #2 was Ne-Yo singing Lady In My Life. Lovely cover, well besides seeing Ne-Yo hatless. Jamie's Blame It performance was pretty hot but I wish Snoop started crippin' when he came out. Travis Barker was a nice touch too and at that point BET broke a record for most white people at a BET Awards.
The next good thing to happen was the D.O.A. performance by Jay-Z. That really kicked the show up a notch because shit was going pretty bad. Question: Why was Beyonce acting like she didn't know Jay was there?? Y'all came in the same limo girl lol.
I also liked the Tevin Campbell, Tyrese, Trey Songz tribute to the O'Jays. Then I loved Eddie Levert saying "snow was falling, when was blowin', people was dancing' and shit" live on TV... and then getting his hand stuck in the award lol. The O'Jays' actual performance was pretty dope too. The funniest part was when they were jammin' and Soulja Boy was standing there like he never heard of these niggas in his life.
Good moments are running low at this point and I must say next that I was loving Maxwell singing Pretty Wings! That boy is bad! And of course I loved how they closed the show out with Janet speaking for the first time since Michael passed and then Jamie and Ne-Yo sang I'll Be There for the most touching moment of the night.
Okay, now that we got that out of the way, lets get to all the bad shit that happened.
First off I gotta touch on the constant failed attempts at censorship. I don't know who was running the bleeper, but that nigga most likely doesn't have a job today. He/She literally missed every bleep by at least a second or 2 (Ex. on Jeremih's Birthday Sex he/she was trying to bleep out sex but was late and ended up just bleeping out "birthday" so it sounded like this: "Birthday sex...sex...sex...sex"). Not to mention that person didn't even make an attempt at bleeping Eddie Levert. I mean, I wasn't there but I saw that shit coming from the beginning of the sentence (and shit). Oh yeah, and I KNOW Wayne isn't cussin' THAT much in Every Girl's 1st verse. It was somewhat vulgar (from what I remember, I actually flip it whenever it comes on) but they had it sounding like the 2Pac's Still Ballin' radio edit (and shit).
I appreciated New Edition all coming together to do a tribute for Michael Jackson BUT they probably should've left Bobby Brown doing...um, what ever it is that Bobby Brown does. I mean it was one thing for me not to understand what he was saying, but that tongue thing he did was just damn disrespectful (and shit).
Other terrible performances included the following: Keri Hilson (I love Keri but that wasn't great), Soulja Boy (I've never heard that song all the way through before last night and never realized there were only about 8 more lyrics to be said in it after the first hook), Mary Mary (Lord forgive me, but that song was Blame It with gospel lyrics. Same beat, same candence), and Ciara (all the MJ songs and she landed on We Are The World??).
The final terrible performance was so bad it needed a paragraph of its own. That performance was given by Drake, Lil Wayne, Baby, and some other niggas. First off, not only did Drake not even make an attempt to sing the Best I Ever Had hook, but he also sat through his whole set. That's only cool if you're singing R&B, he was rapping R&B. Then Wayne comes out for Every Girl and Drake continues to sit. To make matters worse, a gang of little under-aged girls come out and dance around Drake as Wayne spits "I wish I could love every girl in the world, I wish could could love every girl in the world" (Yeah they changed "fuck" to "love" but the nigga with the bleeper tried to bleep it anyway...unsuccessfully of course lol). Classy. Oh, and how bad do you feel for the other niggas performing?? I mean BET literally kept the camera on Wayne and Drake throughout everyone else's verse (by the way, where was Jae Millz?? Was he too busy not dropping Back To The Future??). Nothing was better than Lil Wayne saying, "R.I.P. Michael Jackson (2 seconds pass) I'm always strapped when I'm in the club." Nothing says rest in peace like letting niggas know you're strapped and ready to shot. It was just really bad and I'm glad this wasn't the final performance (and shit).
Back to other terrible things that weren't performances, how wack was it that they were rushing through the awards and giving them out 2 at a time?? Its the BET AWARDS, we couldn't find time to at least announce who was nominated (and shit)?? I think there would've been plenty of time if we cut some of the useless performances I mentioned above (mainly Keri, Mary Mary, and Drake/Wayne).
Oh yeah, they also could've saved time had Don Cornelius never taken the stage. What the fuck was that?? Nobody thought it'd be a good idea to start playing him off the stage with music or cutting his mic?? I know he's Don Cornelius but come on now, nigga was up there sounding senile as shit (and shit).
Here's a short list of things you could've started and completed during the time Don was on the stage:
-Run to the store
-Throw something on the grill
-Sown an American flag
-Watch Forrest Gump
-Watch the entire 2009 BET Awards
Long story short, he was up there for a long ass time (makes you wonder how retarded his ex-wife was that she let him beat her ass last year). Though I must admit, I can't wait to hear the inevitable "my money/gun/dick/ is longer than a Don Cornelius speech" punchline in a rap song coming soon lol.
The "Baby Boy" reunion was dope except for these 2 things: 1) Ving Rhames being drunk and trying to start a "Michael Jackson is guns" chant and 2) Snoop not coming out in a wife beater. You can't tell me the most memorable part in "Baby Boy" wasn't laughing at Snoop's bony body. You just can't.
And last, but not least, does Debra Lee have to speak at every BET Awards?? Does MTV's COO come out and speak at the VMAs?? Does the COO of the Recording Academy come out and speak at the Grammys?? Okay, so why does she make a space for herself every years?? Also, why didn't they bring up Alicia Keys and Wyclef at the same time?? Another way they could've saved time had they skipped over separate speeches.
Overall, the 2009 BET Awards were more so a mess than anything else. A lot of people are blaming it on them revamping the show to make it a Michael Jackson tribute, but if you sit and watch the show again you'll realize basically everything they wanted to do for MJ went on without a hitch while they shit they should've had in order was fucked up (Keri, censoring, Don Cornelius, etc.). This show left much to be desired and when it was all over I was feeling more like ?uestlove ("I wish BET died and MJ did a tribute to them") than anything else.
But guess what?? I'd do it all again because it brought me so much joy and laughter (intentionally and unintentionally).

This Week In Flops 2/26/08
Again, sorry I couldn't get this up yesterday, but my pictures weren't saving for some reason, but I got that under control now. Anyway, welcome to the first TWIF in 10 weeks and also the first of 2008! Of course none of the labels listened to my pleas to stop releasing their artist's album on the same day as a 100 others, but I guess that's why they make the big bucks and I don't, right? Right! Welp lets proceed with the proceedings this...morning lol (oh yeah and please forgive the rust lol).
First off with have Ms. Janet Muthafuckin' Jackson! Since this cover hit the internet I was hoping this wasn't the finished version, but it appears to be. Anyway, I dunno how Janet's buzz is doing since I've been so busy lately, but I know she's gonna be good for AT LEAST 100,000 first week so my prediction is for Discipline is 150-200k.
Erykah Badu has a huge following of fans (as well as ass lol) BUT I'm not so sure any of them know she has a new record that dropped yesterday. Andy is a big fan and he didn't even know until I told him last week and has never heard that Honey record once. With that being said, I think she'll land somewhere in the 80-100k range which isn't bad for someone with 0 buzz at the moment.
Now for the man with the biggest single out right (Independent was #10 on last week's Hot 100), Webbie. Webbie is cooking up a recipe that is good for an at least 200k debut BUT not on is his single Independent but so is his label which hardly ever bodes well for album sales. Go ahead and cut that 200k in half and take off a few more because I don't see Webbie doing much more than 70-90k. I hope he does more, but I wouldn't put money on it.
Moving right along to Shawty Lo's Units In The City. Hmmm...maybe its just be, but I don't think this shit is gonna do good at all. D4L had a #1 single in '05 and didn't sell shit and this time around Lo is barely breaking the top 50 (even though the record is huge in the streets). Oh well this nigga is supposed to be paid anyway so maybe the brick won't hurt as much lol. I got him at 40-50k.
And last, but not...okay she probably is least (mainly on her label lol), but Cheri Dennis is a cutie so she always gets love on fiyahmuzik ;-). Anyway, Puff should have dropped this album long ago in like '06 when she had a lil bit of buzz off that one singel (I can't remember what it was called for shit right now lol), but now the game is pretty much over for Cheri on Bad Boy. She'll be lucky if she can get to 30,000 because I have her in the 10-20k range.

STFU Award: Khia
Here this female goes again lol. This time she's mad at Janet Jackson because she didn't make the song they did together the first single. Boo-fuckin'-whoo! You should be happy anybody even called your ass for a feature seeing that your career ended as soon as it started lol. I'll write more on the other side, but check this bitch out first:
This old bag done lost her mind! She's talking like she's Janet Jackson and Janet Jackson is Khia lol. If I worked on Virgin's marketing team and I had a record with Nelly and another record with Khia, why in the FUCK would I chose the one with Khia??? That makes NO sense! Plus, its not like either record did any good on Billboard or BDS so what makes Khia, of all people, think her record should have been the first single??? That dumb ass shit peaked at #90 on the Hot 100, at least the Nelly record got to #25 lol. Again, your record should have been first because of what?? Okay then.
Then she goes on to talk about other one hit wonders like D4L and Shop Boyz like she isn't one of them LMAO. Classic! Matter of fact, she isn't even an one hit wonder because technically she never even had a hit. Laffy Taffy was a #1 record on Billboard and Party Like A Rockstar made it all the way up to #2. Wanna know the highest My Neck, My Back got on the Hot 100?? 42! This bitch didn't even break the top 40 and is talking about the record like its Thriller or something lol. The fact that this DVD spelled her 4 letter name wrong at the beginning should be a clear indicator of how much status she has in this industry. No, the fact that "Rap Hu$tlin" DVD is her only outlet to air out her grievances is a cleat indicator of how much status she has in this industry lol.
If you still haven't got enough of Khia's poor attempts to create some buzz on unheard-of DVDs then watch her do it all over again on something called Rolling Out TV lol.

Janet Jackson's Feed Back Video
I had never heard this song until I just tried to watch the video, but I almost didn't post this shit because it just isn't hot lol. I turned the video off like half way through because I didn't know what the fuck was going on and the song sounds really terrible lol. Who knows, maybe it'll grow on me after a few MONTHS like SexyBack, but who knows. Check it out if you haven't already:
I wonder who JD's gonna blame this time around lol.
