This Week In Flops 10/5/10

Bruno Mars - Doo-Wops and Hooligans
Current #1 single in the country, prior feature on the #1 song in the country, and an arrest on cocaine charges. There's no way Bruno Mars doesn't comes out on top of these deep crop of albums. I'm gonna say he falls in the 130-165k range.

Waka Flocka Flame - Flockavelli
Wait a minute, "Flockaveli" is really the name of his debut album?? Man, I thought this shit was a mixtape! The corny title mixed with the cartoon-ish cover just screams mixtape, but if this is really his album then so be it. I'm gonna go 60-90k for Flockaveli.

(Side note: I'm poised to be wrong on this.)

Faith Evans - Something About Faith
I don't know much about this album, but it's Faith, so she should be good for at least 30,000 copies first week. I'll say 40-60k.

Pimp C - The Naked Soul of Sweet Jones
I still can't believe Pimp C is dead. Are they still trying to push the lie that his death had nothing to do with sizzurp and that he died of natural causes at 32??

Anyway, Pimp always gets love so I think he's gonna fall in the 15-35k range.

B.G. - Hollyhood
What a horrible, piece of shit album cover. I know B.G. isn't on the top of the game, but fuck! This shit looks like a mixtape even more than Flockaveli. Oh well, I'm going with 5-15k for B. Gizzle.

Canibus - C of Tranquility
Canibus is lyrically an all-time great, but the name has like 4 albums since 2000 that haven't charted. Although I'm sure it'll be a very good album, it's probably will fall in the range of 1-3k.

Thursday Billboard Update - 12/17/09

Susan Boyle - I Dreamed A Dream
Susan Boyle and her I Dreamed A Dream are still looking dominant moving another 582,000 while Andrea Bocelli is no slouch either with another 400,000. Chris Brown's comeback album Graffiti does 101,900. That looks about right. Expect this album to disappear into Billboard oblivion sooner than later. Gucci Mane's The State Vs. Radric Davis round out the top 10 with 90,000 sold. Can we still fronting like he's a major player in the game now??

Numbers 1, 4, 5, 8, 9, and 10 are all the same, and the other slots only moved 1 way up or down. The end.

The Billboard 200 1-10
first week debuts in bold

1. Susan Boyle - I Dreamed A Dream (1-1)
2. Andrea Bocelli - My Christmas (2-2)
3. Glee Cast - Glee: The Music, Vol. 2 (3)
4. Taylor Swift - Fearless (3-4)
5. Carrie Underwood - Play On (6-5)
6. Lady GaGa - The Fame (5-6)
7. Chris Brown - Graffiti (7)
8. Justin Bieber - My World (12-8)
9. Michael Bublé - Crazy Love (10-9)
10. Gucci Mane - The State Vs. Radric Davis (10)
  • Rough week for the Dogg Father as Snoop Dogg's Malice N Wonderland debuts at #23 with just 59,300 sold. I blame that terrible Soulja Boy feature lol.
  • Timbaland's Shock Value II also underwhelms at #36 with just 39,700 sold.
  • Clipse's Til The Casket Drops checks in at #46 with 31,500 sold.
  • And last, but not least, B.G. and his Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood debuts #77 with 18,000 sold.
The Billboard Hot 100 1-10
first time top 10's in bold

1. Jay-Z - Empire State Of Mind (1-1)
2. Ke$ha - TiK ToK (3-2)
3. Lady GaGa - Bad Romance (2-3)
4. Iyaz - Replay (4-4)
5. Owl City - Fireflies (5-5)
6. David Guetta - Sexy Chick (7-6)
7. Jason Rulo - Whatcha Say (6-7)
8. Black Eyed Peas - Meet Me Halfway (8-8)
9. Britney Spears - 3 (9-9)
10. Jay Sean - Down (10-10)
  • Ludacris' How Low has made a real impact with the ladies and it shows as it debuts at #13 this week. Its obviously the top debut of the week. Maybe this will force Def Jam to release that damn Battle Of The Sexes album.
  • Timbaland sees his Carry Out with Justin Timberlake surge 44 spots 75-31.
  • After leaking to the net a week ago, Lil Wayne's On Fire, from the oft-delayed and newly leaked Rebirth album, debuted at #62.
  • Mary J. Blige's I Am comes in at #67 as she prepares for the release of her album this upcoming Tuesday.
  • All isn't bad for Snoop Dogg this week as his I Wanna Rock debuts at #80.
  • Chris Brown's What I Do with Plies debuts at #88.

This Week In Flops 12/8/09

Chris Brown
Okay, 181,400 is what Rihanna's Rated R sold last week, so that's Chris Brown's sales ceiling. (Trust me, there's NO chance that he even comes close to that figure, let alone pass it.) The bottom line is the interest just isn't there for Chris and it doesn't help that I've heard nothing but bad reviews since the album leaked. He should still debut in the top 10 selling somewhere between 90-120k.

Snoop Dogg
I listened to Snoop's album over the weekend and I was extremely disappointed World Of A Gangsta and Protocol didn't make the cut. I mean its not like they ran out of space, there's only 14 tracks and 2 of them were the intro and outro. Oh, and one was an absolutely ear torturing song called Pronto with Soulja Boy. That shit is SOOOOOO bad! You telling me the album needed that, but couldn't use those 2 bangers mentioned above?? For that reason I probably won't buy the album, but I'm sure it'll fall in the 80-110k range.

Timbaland
In April of '07, when the first Shock Value dropped, it debuted at #5 and sold 138,000, and that was on the heels of super single Give It To Me with Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado. That huge #1 hit single doesn't exist these time around some we might see Timmy sitting on the outside of the top 10 next week. I'll say 60-90k.

Gucci Mane
Welp, I guess its time to see how hot Gucci Mane really is to everyone. He's destroyed numerous songs with his shitty features, but he is allegedly in high demand. Realistically, with the way everybody has pretended to be on his dick, he should do Susan Boyle numbers.

..But he won't. I'll give him 45-85k.

Clipse
I haven't listened to the album yet, but I'm sure its good. Its a damn shame nobody knows its dropping though. I mean, I didn't even know until I saw it leak last week. Damn shame, 20-50k

B.G.
Judging by Juvenile's album's perormance (#43, 23,100 sold), I'm gonna guess B.G. does somewhere in the range of 10-20.

(Question: Is B.G. still signed to Grand Hustle??)

B.G. - My Hood Video

Is B.G. even still on Grand Hustle?? If so, who in the FUCK does T.I. have working up in that bitch?? How does T.I. go away for a whole year and nobody of importance on their roster drop an album?? B.G., B.o.B, Young Dro, somebody, anybody!

This is why rappers shouldn't own record labels. It was a nice gesture a few years back, but at this point can't we see its just a bad idea because they usually care more about their career than their artist's, then they break up, then a fake beef ensues. We get it. Grand Hustle, drop some fuckin' albums already!

B.G. - My Hood (Prod. By Mannie Fresh)

Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood
B.G. is back working with Mannie Fresh and his 11th album Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood is dropping November 24th!

This kinda has that good old Cash Money feel to it, BUT that's not the best part about the song though. Do you know what the best part is?? Well if you guessed "Mannie Fresh isn't on the hook" then you got it right! We weren't subjected to foolery like, "I'm from the ghetto homie, I was raised on bread and bologna," as was the case on B.G.'s Move Around in 2006. Thank you Mannie, thank you lol.

Random News Shit

The Hot Boys, the Hot Boys. Hot, hot!
1) Hots Boys Reunion On Hold
As you can read in the link, Juvenile is said he doesn't really know what's going on with the project so we can go ahead and file this under the list of Cash Money albums that will never be made or released. Is Turk even out of jail though?? You can't have the Hot Boys without all 4 members and I think there is a good chance he's still locked up. Welp, I guess we shall see.

On another note, I got some new Juvenile stuff to post so I'm gonna try to get that up before football starts tonight.

2) Tiny & Toya Set Viewing Records For BET
Before all you ghetto birds jump in rejoice, remember the headline says "viewing record for BET."

Anyway, "Tiny & Toya" had 3 million viewers on its debut and average 1.8 million for the 8-episode season. Not bad, not bad. I have nothing mean to say about the ladies but needless to say I didn't watch the show.

3) Roy Williams Day-To-Day With Shoulder Contusion
Damn, I was hoping it was much worse.

4) J.R. Smith & Jason Richardson Suspended By The NBA
J.R. will miss the first 7 games of the season and J-Rich will miss the first 2. No big deal here.

Hot Boys - If I Ain't A Hot Boy

Yeah, I probably should've posted this the other day BUT better late than never, right?? Right.

Hot Boys - If I Ain't A Hot Boy

I'm actually pretty impressed. If I didn't know any better (like most Wayne Stans) I'd think this track was recorded back when they were really a group. Good shit dudes.

Random Muzik

These are just some random tracks I downloaded over the past few days.

DMX Feat. Seal - I Wish

Well, this certainly was random lol. I mean seriously when was the last time you saw a song featuring Seal?? Exactly lol. This shit ain't really that good anyway so it really doesn't matter. Come on X you can do better!

Gym Class Heroes Feat. Busta Rhymes - Peace Sign Index Down

I'm still new to this whole GCH music shit so figure me for not being amazed again lol. Well at least this is 1000x better than that Cookie Jar bullshit.

B.G. Feat. Juvenile, Lil Wayne, & Trey Songz - You Heard Me

I dunno it just ain't the same. Maybe they should rethink this whole Hot Boyz reunion thing.

Trey Songz - Hi-Definition

This was aight.

Pitbull - American War

I remember way back when Pitbull actually used to rap before he shitted on his fanbase and start doing ReggaetĂ³n he actually used to be pretty nice. Well good track Pit, lets get more good shit.

Maino Feat. Mister Cee - Brooklyn Salute

This was pretty straight.

N.O.R.E. - Still On The Run Eating

I know I ain't the only one thinking those Wayne samples were totally unnecessary and off base lol. Shit just fucked up the whole song lol.

Ace Hood Feat. Trey Songz - Ride

Wow, this was REALLY boring lol. I mean its like this same song has been made so many times it just ain't interesting anymore. What ever happened to Cash Flow anyway??

T.O.K. feat. Beenie Man - Miss World

I think Reggae is trying to make a comeback! Shit used to be huge down here, but now you hardly hear it one the radio at all. Well I always liked T.O.K. and this joint is nice.

Styles P. - Going Thru It

This was just aight, but I sure am ready for a new SP mixtape! Whuddup Poobs!!

Jacki-O Feat. B.G. - Streets

I wonder if Jacki is ready to officially put out Brisco and Poe Boy?? Welp, only time will tell, but in the meantime here's a track from her I found. I'm not sure if its new or old (I do think I heard it before), but oh well I'm sure you haven't lol.

B.G. - Umma Do Me (Lil Wayne Diss??)

I downloaded this shit because it said it was a Lil Wayne diss, but this shit doesn't sound like a diss to me. You decide:

B.G. - Umma Do Me

I doubt he's dissing Wayne here because if he was I'm sure he would've said his name especially considering he has in the past. Plus, he just made that ode to the Hot Boyz shit I posted last week.

B.G. - Ode To The Hot Boyz

Last night I was listening to B.G.'s new Gangsta Grillz mixtape with DJ Drama called Hood Generals and this was on there. Its a pleasant surprise and a must listen for all my original Cash Money fans:

B.G. - Ode To The Hot Boyz

This shit is hot! It kinda reminds me of one of Lil Wayne's illest tracks I Miss My Dawgs
off Tha Carter (the only good album in his Carters series by the way).

The entire Hood Generals mixtape was pretty hot too so check that out if you get a chance.

B.G. Feat. T.I. - For A Minute

Welp this is a good day to start your morning, a hot new video from one of the dirty South's finest, B.G.! When I got on Myspace this morning I saw this in a bulletin made by T.I.'s page, but I couldn't get the streetcred.com link so I had to find it on YouTube (see Tip, I tried to promote ya shit, but I couldn't get the link from ya site). Check it out:

This song is jammin' hard! It kinda puts me back in the mindset of middle school and seeing Cash Money classics like Cash Money Is An Army on Rap City when I got home. Oh well those days are LONG gone (definitely not forgotten though). Hey I see y'all on that C-Murder cameo, that was a good look especially since T.I. couldn't make it.

Oh yeah B.G. new albums Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood is supposed to be droppin' Feb. 5th so support, support, support!

The Hot Boys Are Back??

That's what Lil Wayne says:

If this is true, I don't know if I really care. I mean back in '99 I was happy to see anything the group did, but its 2007 and after a very public falling out it just makes no sense to me. Personally, I just can't see it, but who knows maybe, I guess we have to just wait and see.

Oh yeah, is Turk even out of jail??
