Thursday Billboard Update - 10/18/12

Shockingly debuting at #2 is Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' The Heist with 78,500 copies sold. Amazing, especially considering they are independent. Good job by them. Coming in at #4 is Machine Gun Kelly's debut album Lace Up with 50,700 copies sold. That's about what I expected, but a tad embarrassing considering an independent artist sold more. Then again, he didn't get much push from Bad Boy outside of a few tweets from Diddy.

Maroon 5 denies Psy again! I guess people really don't want to see Psy performed Gangnam Style topless like he said he would if the song went #1.

The Billboard 200 1-10

1. Mumford & Sons - Babel (1-1)
2. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - The Heist (2)

Azealia Banks vs. Iggy Azalea: Who Should STFU?

This whole "beef" started when this chick Azealia Banks called out XXL for putting Iggy Azalea (I know, the name similarity is confusing to me too) on the Freshman cover a couple weeks ago. Here's what happened when DJ Drama brought it up to Iggy and T.I. on the radio the other day:

And here's Banks' response:

Lol I NEVER needed the next n-gga to sit up on a radio show with me and defend me. Furthermore, n*ggas r sitting up here trying to mask/defend what homegirl said. F*ck outta here. Everybody got something slick to say, but no one got an explanation. Come on T.I…. N*ggas is not scared of u and whatever sh-t u got to say on some radio show. @tip you corny for that one. How u a grown man commenting on what’s going on between two girls. Come on son. Stop it. Ruin my career: what f*cking ever… Y’all wish.

This situation is really funny to me.  It’s not like I said some foul out of the water sh-t about Iggy Azalea… I questioned her artistic integrity because of insensitive lyrics.  Its not like I made up some bullsh-t and came at her head. In fact the issue wasn’t even really her. The issue was XXL. Why were the only three females nominated for that cover kreayshawn, v-nasty and iggy? Where was Rapsody, or nitty Scott, or Angel Haze? But y’all n-ggas don’t hear me tho. LOL. I think what’s even more interesting about this, is how unable Iggy is to explain herself. T.i can’t even explain for her. Those r my last comments about it. The Internet is making me look like a villain.

Okay, now here's the Hip-Hop Czar's opinion:

Azealia Banks should just shut the fuck up. Whether she has a point or not, it's just gonna seem like she's hatin' no matter what, so her best bet would to be to just drop it. Besides, if she signs to G.O.O.D. Music like rumor has it she will, she'll have her day in the sun soon enough.

(Side note: If she doesn't think T.I. could ruin her career, she should go check the Billboard charts for the last Lil Flip sighting.)

(Side side note: If you have no idea who Azealia Banks is click here.)

Doggisodes Ep. 14

From the white girl's Dougie to Bushwick Bill dancing, this Doggiesode was wildly entertaining! Maybe my favorite one yet. Now lets all pray Wiz Khalifa's acting in "Mac & Devin Go to High School" in won't resemble this.

Thursday Billboard Update - 7/28/11

Adele's 21 returns to #1 this week for her 11th non-consecutive week atop the Billboard 200. DJ Khaled's We The Best Forever debuts at #5 with 53,100 sold. Amy Winehouse's Back To Black re-enters the charts at #9 with 37,300 following a 3,140% sales increase. Not sure why it re-entered the Billboard 200 and not the Top Pop Catalog like Michael Jackson was forced to back in 2009? Remember, Billboard said any album more than 18-months old and below spot 100 was considered a "catalog album" and that's why MJ took over the Top Pop Catalog and instead of the Billboard 200 like he was supposed to? What happened, Billboard? Whatever, expect Back To Black to make a run at #1 next week.

I'm not sure how LMFAO's bullshit ass song stays at #1, but it does. Then again, one glance at numbers 2-4 let's you know America is clearly lost musically. Anyway, Bad Meets Evil's Lighters featuring Bruno Mars finally tracks the top 10 at #10.

The Billboard 200 1-10
first week debuts in bold

1. Adele - 21 (3-1)
2. Kidz Bop Kids - Kidz Bop 20 (2)
3. 3 Doors Down - Time Of My Life (3)

4. Beyonce - 4 (5-4)
5. DJ Khaled - We the Best Forever (5)
6. Blake Shelton - Red River Blue (1-6)
7. 311 - Universal Pulse (7)
8. Jason Aldean - My Kinda Party (7-8)
9. Amy Winehouse - Back To Black (9)
10. Selena Gomez & The Scene - When The Sun Goes Down (10-10)

The Billboard Hot 100 1-10
first time top 10's in bold

1. LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem (1-1)
2. Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (3-2)
3. Pitbull - Give Me Everything (2-3)
4. Nicki Minaj - Super Bass (5-4)
5. Adele - Rolling In The Deep (4-5)
6. Lil Wayne - How To Love (6-6)
7. Hot Chelle Rae - Tonight Tonight (9-7)
8. Lady Gaga - The Edge Of Glory (7-8)
9. OneRepublic - Good Life (8-9)
10. Bad Meets Evil - Lighters (17-10)

Jay-Z and Kanye West's (or The Throne as they're now being called) Otis debuts at #47. This marks the first time Otis Redding has appeared on since 1969, 2 years after his death in 1967 at age 26 (damn, he missed the "27 Club" by 273 days).
Pitbull's Rain Over Me featuring Marc Anthony flies 22 spots 81-59.
Drake's Marvin's Room finally debuts at #68.
50 Cent's Outlaw debuts at #87. Take that Interscope!
Big Sean wildly overrated Marvin Gaye & Chardonnay with Kanye and Roscoe Dash debuts at #88.
Miguel's Quickie debuts at #95.
DJ Drama's Oh My featuring Fabolous, Roscoe Dash, and Wiz Khalifa debuts at #100.

DJ Drama Responds To Jeezy

Drama
It didn't take long for DJ Drama to read what Jeezy had to say to XXL and fire back some shots in return. After the jump, peep Dram's reponse to what Jeezy had to say about him and their relationship:

"After reading Jeezy's unprovoked insults in that XXL article, it seems like the guy’s pretty emotional if u ask me! Maybe he’s dealing wit some things in his career, I don't know. He did an interview a few months back with Elliot Wilson on RapRadar. and said the total opposite! He was talkin bout, "Drams the homie and we may work together again, etc." Now I've never spoken on our issues because I believe grown man business is just that, and running to the media to whine is not my thing.

But more importantly, his statement about me trying to charge him $20k for a mixtape is a BOLD FACE LIE. I never charged Jeezy for nothin'. I did two Slick Pulla tapes (4th Ward Day, Election Day) for free and a Bloodraw tape (The Indictment Papers) for free. Anything Jeezy ever needed from me, I did without hesitation. He doesn’t want to deal with the real reason why he's mad.

The tension between us actually started when I deejayed his USDA release party (FOR FREE) and I played a Gucci Mane record. He stormed out of his own party and didn't speak to me for about 2-3 months. Me, being a DJ, I was just rockin' the crowd and giving the people what they had been requesting. I don’t get involved in that other stuff.

I could go deeper into his angry reaction to me working with Gucci but, again, I'm a stand-up guy. I'm loyal to those who are loyal to me. I'm not even thinkin bout Jeezy. Why all the tough talk to the DJ who doesn't say nothin' about him? Jeezy didn't say nothin' tough when rappers dissed him like Pimp C.

I was shocked by his cowardly attempt to try to slander my name in the upcoming XXL article. And what’s the most shocking is to see him side with the FEDs in my arrest! Wow, since when did that become gangster?!? I'm chillin, never said nothin' negative about dude. Check his character…or better yet, ask those around him that he’s done dirty. Ask the folks who ain't with him anymore, like Coach K, Twin, his former security Big Sam, or my homie Roccett…

We doin' our thing over here. I'm workin on albums, Gangsta Grillz Vol 3., traveling the world and celebrating success! And I'm still the Mixtape President!"

I see where Drama is coming from, but if Jeezy is your boy and you're DJing his party, why would you play a record from someone he's been publicly feuding with for years?? That's like a DJ Khaled doing Rick Ross' party and starting playing 50 Cent music. That's being loyal?? I'm not saying he can't play Gucci's shit, but why do it at Jeezy's party?? I don't agree with the way Jeezy handled it but its still a slap in the face.

Young Jeezy Airs Out DJ Drama In XXL

Jeezy XXL Sept 09
Its about to get ugly! Now we knew Jeezy and Drama had a falling out, but we're finally starting to get some light on what's really going on from the Snowman himself. Check out what Jeezy said about DJ Drama in the September issue of XXL (before we go forward, this is EXACTLY why newspapers and magazines are going out of business, we get the news long before they come out so they are useless these days):

"Drama just started acting like a bitch. Drama wanted to be Khaled, but he didn't want to help nobody. He just changed, period. Look at his crew. The same niggas ain't around him. You ain't never been in no streets. I could never have no beef with a nigga like that. He's a cornball. You made millions off my mixtapes, to the point where the fuckin' feds scooped you up for bootlegging. I never even made the money he made off of Trap or Die or Tha Streets Iz Watchin, because they were selling and distributing them and making money.

I'm not hating. But we will never do a mixtape together. I didn't charge that nigga for [contributing a verse to the song "5000 Ones," on Drama's official Atlantic Records debut]. But then when I need [a tape for one of my artists], and you want to charge me $20,000?… I'll slap the shit out of Drama. He knows that. He wasn't loyal. But me putting my hands on that man ain't gonna make him respect what I'm saying. I'm just not gonna fuck with him anymore."

That is fucked up. How you gonna charge one of the niggas that helped you get on?? If there's no T.I. and Young Jeezy, there's no DJ Drama. Point blank.

DJ Drama - Day Dreaming (feat. Akon, Snoop Dogg & T.I.) Video

Was that Bria Myles in the pink dress?? So fine! She should've been the main girl in the video lol. Anyway, I'm surprised this track isn't bigger down here as of yet. This type of shit is basically all they play on Power 96 (which is the main reason Right Round is the #1 single in the country right now), so it would make sense for them to play this in the ground. They usually play anything with Akon on it lol.

Welp, Gangsta Grillz: The Album II is scheduled to hit stores March 31st.

Muzik Pt. 1

Busta Rhymes Feat. T-Pain - Hustler's Dream (Clean)

Wow, not impressed... at all lol.

Lil Jon Feat. Ciara & Lil Wayne - Roll Call

Can I get a show of hands from all the indiviuals that forget about Crunk Rock?? Let it go Jon, your time came and went in 2004 lol.

Shawty Lo - Roll The Dice

Why do niggas keep insisting on remixes tracks other people have already remixed?? First Wayne then Jeezy and now Lo. Anyway, as far as the track goes, in the 2nd verse it sounds like he was trying to call a truce with T.I. again but then again who knows with this nigga because beef with T.I. is obviously the only reason he's ever mentioned.

Lloyd Banks - Don't Come Around

I hope Banks is gonna put this type of effort on his album tracks. Good shit.

DJ Drama Feat. Ghostface & Lupe Fiasco - Paint A Picture

This shit is sick! Ghostface rips it, Lupe rips it, the beat is hard! Just a overall good ass track.

DJ Green Lantern Feat. Avery Storm & Uncle Murda - Crazy World

I never made a post about dude the cops shot in the back, but how sad was that?? Man, so fucked up still in 2009.

Ne-Yo - I'm Doin' Ok

How many tracks did Ne-Yo do for his last album?? I mean damn he's still dropping shit lol. This track, like its title, is just ok though.

Ya Boy Feat. E-40, Kurupt, & Glasses Malone - Superstars

No disrespect to Kurupt but his verse was wack! I'm about all of it from the way he spit it to the actual lyrics lol. And can somebody tell Glasses Malone he's gonna have a hard time trying to be a gangsta rapper using auto-tune lol. The verses went from good to bad to badder to baddest lol.

Jim Jones Feat. Ryan Leslie - Precious

Jimmy went back to the old super wack version of himself from like 03-04 lol. I mean that 2nd verse was just terrible and to add insult to injury he was off beat...as hell lol.

N.O.R.E. - Blame It Freestyle

I love N.O.R.E. but he does nothing to help this track out.

N.O.R.E. - Ain't I Freestyle

I don't know if its because this track is just wack or N.O.R.E. was just bad, but I hated this.

Spit Ya Game: Asher Roth (Next Eminem??)

Now, I've been hearing a lot in the past few weeks about this white kid from Philly named Asher Roth that's supposed to be spittin'. I even downloaded the his Gangsta Grillz mixtape The Greenhouse Effect myself (which I have yet to listen to but will soon), but this is the first time I've actually heard dude spit. Check him out:

Inevitably, of course, he was gonna be compared to Eminem because he is the white rapper standard, but damn did you hear dude's voice?? This man sounds JUST like Em! I'm not faulting him because of his voice, but damn! He's to Eminem what Shyne and Guerrilla Black were to Biggie, what Black Haze is to 2Pac, and what
Angelous is to Jay-Z. I dunno if that's a good or bad thing, but off that shit above he definitely gets Fiyah's seal of approval because that was ILL!

Mike Prat Response To Lil Wayne's "Fuck All DJ's" Comment

Before I dropped the video, I totally forgot to post Lil Wayne on DJ Drama's show on Shade 45 over the weekend trying to clean up this "fuck all mixtape DJ's" shit and direct it to The Empire and the maker of Wayne's World (which is this Mike Prat nigga) oppose to ALL mixtape DJ's. You can check that out by clicking here.

Now, on to the main course.

If I was a mixtape DJ's I guess I'd be mad too, but this nigga here is trying WAY too hard lol. I mean he's trying to clown Wayne, but he doing a kinda bad job at it by trying to stunt and talk about money like that ain't what that nigga built his whole career off of. Besides, Wayne does a darn good job of making himself look like a clown all on his own lol.

Mike Prat isn't the only one up in arms though, Empire stuck back, and of course DJ Chuck T allegedly leaked Tha Carter III over the weekend. See, this is why you shouldn't do drugs, you say dumb shit and sometimes shit doesn't just go away. Oh well lol.
