If you haven't heard, Ken Griffey Jr. has signed back with the Seattle Mariners, the team he came into the league with as a 19 year-old kid in 1989. Here's my question: WHY??? At 39 years of age and after 20 years in the majors, what is the point of not going to a contender?? We know the White Sox didn't want him back, but there had to be at least one other contender out there that would be interested in having him on their roster. Somebody! But at this point in his career, what is going back to the 61-101 Mariners gonna do for him?? Only the Washington Nationals did worse than Seattle last season.
Bottom line, if you can't get with a contender then just retire!

They Did It, They Finally Did It
Yep, if you haven't heard the Boston Red Sox finally traded away Manny! No more Manny being Manny...well in Boston at least lol. Mr. Ramirez is headed west to the L.A. Dodgers in a 3-way deal with the Pirates which sends Jason Bay to the Sox. [TRADE DETAILS]
As a Yankee fan I'm ecstatic by the news because the Sox definitely didn't get any better by trading him to the Dodgers and right now we're only one game behind them. Boston might go from World Series champs to outside the playoffs looking in. Sad. lol. Meanwhile we just added Pudge Rodriguez who helped the Marlins beat the Yanks back in 2003.
In other trade deadline news, the great Ken Griffey Jr. was traded to the White Sox earlier giving him his first real shot at a title in his entire career...well if the Sox can hang on in the AL Central.
