1) James Harden Gets 5-Year/$80 Million Deal From Rockets
And if his performance last night (37 points, 12 assists, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals) is any indicator, he's worth every dime. How crazy would it be if Harden kept this up and started over Russell Westbrook in the All-Star game or challenged Kevin Durant for the scoring title? OKC fans would be sooooo pissed and it would be hilarious!
2) Warriors Give Stephen Curry 4-Year/$44 Million Deal
If you've followed me for awhile, you know I'm a big Steph Curry fan, so I'm happy to hear this, I just hope his ankle holds up and he doesn't become the modern day Grant Hill.
3) Jrue Holiday Gets $41 Million Extension From Pistons
Seems like a lot, but the kid can ball, so I'm good with it.
4) DeMar DeRozan Signs $40 Million Extension With Raptors
Hopefully some of that money is for him getting robbed in the 2011 Slam Dunk Contest. Hey, does this mean he's now richer than his college teammate Lil Romeo? I think it might.
5) Bulls & Taj Gibson Agree On $38 Million Extension
What a steal! Taj is clearly better than Carlos Boozer, and he got a max deal. Taj might've wanted to consider testing free agency.
6) Knicks-Nets Game Postponed
Damn, now I guess I gotta watch that dreadful Chiefs-Chargers game. Fuck!

OKC Trades James Harden To Houston
Wow, wow, WOW! I couldn't be any more shocked about this trade. I mean, if the Thunder were gonna trade James Harden, you'd figure it would've happened over the summer, not days before the start of the season. Crazy. Anyway, here's the trade breakdown:
Houston gets James Harden, Cole Aldrich, Daequan Cook, and Lazar Hayward; OKC gets Kevin Martin and Jeremy Lamb, two first-round picks and a second-round pick.
Initially the winner looks like Houston because they got the best player, but upon further review, the big winner is the Los Angeles Lakers. Now instead of having to go through OKC's Big 3, they now only have to go through OKC's Big 2.5. Hell, maybe even Big 2.25, so yeah, the Lakers are definitely the prime beneficiaries of this deal.
Do you know who the big loser is? The funniness of this picture. R.I.P.

Team USA Finalized For London Olympics
With guys like Dwight Howard, Derrick Rose, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh being unable to play in the 2012 Games, a few spots were in flux, but there's your final roster above. The last 3 to make the team were Blake Griffin, James Harden, and Andre Iguodala. I guess I'm fine with that, though it seems weird that Iguodala can make Team USA, while barely making the All-Star team. The size worries me, but this group should be good enough to get the job done. I mean, did you see Kevin Durant in Turkey for the 2010 World Championship? He was fucking amazing!
The London Olympics begin July 27th.

Metta World Peace Suspended 7 Games For Elbow
I had a lot of options when it came to choosing a picture for this post, but I couldn't resist a botched high five/fist bump.
Anyway, yep, your boy David Stern finally made a decision, and it was to suspend Metta WorldWar Peace 7 games for giving James Harden the People's Elbow. I'm sure his 7.7 points a game on 39% shooting from the field will be missed.
Two quick things before I go: 1) Those crazy Taiwanese animators made a drugged out recreation of this story, and 2) why is James Harden getting a free pass here? I can't be the only one thinking he kinda deserved to get knocked upside the head for his super douchey hair style choice. We don't need any niggas in 2012 still walking around with mohawk. I say good job, Metta.
