Coming in at #1 this week is Lupe Fiasco's Lasers with 204,300 copies sold. I don't think I've been this far off on a This Week In Flops guess in the history of this website. Oh well, congrats to Lupe.

Lady Gaga's Born This Way and Cee-Lo's Fuck You are still deadlocked at numbers 1 and 2, but we have a new #3 in Katy Perry's E.T. featuring Kanye West (8-3). And breaking into the top 10 this week is Britney Spears' Till The World Ends (20-9).

Thursday Billboard Update - 12/23/10

Taylor Swift's Speak Now overtakes Susan Boyle's The Gift for #1, but blah blah blah. "Michael Jackson's" Michael debuts at #3 with 228,200 sold. R. Kelly's Love Letter debuts at #6 with 154,300. What can you say, the man has a real fan base. Dirty Money's Last Train To Paris exceeded expectations of 65,000 and sold 100,900. (Let the records show I was WAY closer with my prediction for the album. I guess that's why I'm the Industry Prognosticator and they aren't.)

Katy Perry's Firework is still #1, but it's becoming increasingly obvious that Bruno Mars' Grenade will finish the year out at #1, as it inches into the #2 spot this week. The biggest news on the Hot 100 this week is Lil Wayne bursting into the top 10 at #9 with his first post-prison single 6 Foot 7 Foot with Cory Gunz. It'll be interesting to see where it goes from here.

This Week In Flops 12/14/10

Before I start, I want to remind everyone that a Michael Jackson album called Michael also dropped this week. I would've included it in today's proceedings, but I felt uncomfortable with putting the King Of Pop under the title "flop."

Aight, we have a lot of albums to get through again, so I'm gonna make these short and sweet.

First up, the Last Train To Paris. If you're one of Diddy's 3,121,625 followers on Twitter, you're well aware this album is now in stores. Hopefully it's not all for nothing like Soulja Boy and his 2 million-plus followers last week. For Last Train To Paris, I'll say 115-140k.

All I've been hearing is good things about this R. Kelly album. I guess he's done making foolish tracks like Real Talk, and got back to the real shit that made him who he is. Is all the acclaim coming too late to sway his first week numbers?? Possibly, but he's the R, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say 80-110k.

Ciara is still the sexiest chick with no body in the world, and I'd still pick her #1 overall in the Sex Draft, but I'm not sure anybody is checking for this album. I hope they are because I like her, but I just don't feel it or see it. I'm gonna say it falls in the 30-60.

Good ol' Tank is back at them again, and I think he's good for 30-60k.

I don't know much about this project, but a lot of people watch that show she's on, so I'll say 20-45.

Donnie! Def Jam let's another one go under the radar, I'll say 10-25k.

Susan Boyle's The Gift returns to the top of the charts pushing out another 271,600 records. Last week's #1, Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, falls fast to #7 with 108,400 sold in its 2nd week. Last week's #2, Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday, follows Kanye's lead again and falls to #8 with 103,100 sold.

Another week, another new #1. This week it's Katy Perry's Fireworks inching 1 spot up to the top.

Thursday Billboard Update - 12/2/10

As expected, Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy comes in at #1 with 497,100 albums sold. And also as expected, Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday comes in at #2 with 376,000 sold. That's the 2nd highest opening week for a female hip-hop album in Billboard history (Lauryn Hill is #1). Finally, coming in at #9 is Ne-Yo's Libra Scale, which sold 112,500.

There's another new #1 this week, and it's P!nk's Raise Your Glass rising from #2. Two new singles crack the top 10 this week, Black Eyed Peas' The Time (Dirty Bit) (13-9), and Bruno Mars' Grenade (17-10).

The Zac Brown Band is the new #1 this week as their album You Get What You Give moves 153,402 copies. Checking in at #2 is Maroon 5's Hands All Over with 141,585 sold. I was way off there. The last debut of importance is John Legend and The Roots collaborative album Wake Up!, which debuted at #8 with 62,765 sold.

In its 2nd week in stores, Eminem's Recovery album moves another 313,292 and goes platinum...surprising no one. As it stands, 1,057,698 copies of Recovery have been sold. Drake's Thank Me Later hangs in at #2 with another 104,885 sold to move his total to 708,868. I'd say he's about 5 weeks out from platinum status. Lastly, The-Dream's Love King checks in at #4 with 58,488 sold in its first week.

• Oddly enough Erykah Badu has had one of the biggest tracks around for the past couple weeks with Window Seats, but it hasn't showed up on the Hot 100. That ends today as Ms. Badu finally checks in at #95.

Diddy Introduces Dirty Money

I don't know about this group name, its just weird to me. Sounds more like some local underground label trying to get on more so than a group featuring Diddy, an ex-Danity Kane member, and some other chick who looks like Estelle.

I ain't mad at them though, I just hope the music is good. Diddy said its gonna sound like nothing that's on the radio, but I could put money on it having auto-tune galore which is exactly what's on the radio right now. If they can make some of that cool ass Loose Ends, Soul II Soul shit then I am all for Dirty Money and back them 110%! I LOVE Hanging On A String and Back To Life!
