First off, if I was at the bar, I definitely would've stopped Nas and said, "Hey, less rapping, more pouring!" I think he made a total of 2 drinks in the entirety of this video.
Another thing, should the fine ass main girl in this video really be commending for not cheating while in her man's presence at his job? I say no. Let's see how she does with the male models straight out of central casting at another bar before we say she's the One.
...Unless by the line "just like me" he means a potential adulterer.

Fuck Kelis. That's my first thought after watching this video. My second thought was, damn, if MTV and BET still played music videos, this one would be in heavy rotation, especially if Kelis was still relevant. Another thought I had was who is the Seal/Donald Driver looking brotha singing in the background? I just assumed that was a 90's R&B sample, but apparently not, it was Seanold Driver. (UPDATE: Seanold Driver is actually Aaron Hall...so it is somewhat a 90's R&B sample.) Last thought: he should've burned the dress.

Thursday Billboard Update - 7/26/12
Sadly, it's back to a lot of nothing on the Hot 100 this week.
Now give me a moment to highlight the random hypocrisy of Billboard. This week Frank Ocean's Channel Orange fell to #4 with 54,000 sold in its 2nd week, but those numbers don't include sales from Amazon because they sold it for $2.99 this past week. Billboard is alleging that it's their policy to disallow sales to count toward chart placement if the album is sold below its $3.49 minimum in the first 4 weeks of release. Wait, what? Just last June Lady Gaga's Born This Way set a then record for largest percentage sales drop in Billboard history. Born This Way fell 84.27% in its 2nd week largely because its first week sales were artificially enhanced by Amazon offering it for just 99¢ at times during the first week. So when Amazon sold Lady Gaga's album for 99¢ in its first week it was okay, but when they sold Frank Ocean's for $2.99 in its second week, all of a sudden there's a Billboard policy that says its not allowed? I call bullshit, unless they changed the policy immediately after the Lady Gaga debacle.

What a dope video! Definitely didn't hurt that it had Paige Hurd aka Tasha from Everybody Hates Chris in it. She was always a lil cutie to me (and yes she's legal so shut the fuck up).
Anyway, no new news on Life Is Good, but it's still on schedule for a July 17th release, so that's always a good thing.

Nicki Minaj - Right By My Side (feat. Chris Brown) Video
A few thoughts about this video:
1) Has anyone checked on Drake yet? He got snubbed for his kiss at the end of the Moment 4 Life video, only for Nicki to go on and kiss Nas at the end of this video? You know he's somewhere crying his little light skin heart out.
2) Awesome career move by Nas. I don't know when the new album is dropping, but he name will definitely be buzzing because dumb niggas will think (and say) this video means he and Nicki are dating now. Hopefully he can capitalize off of it.
3) What if Nas really is fucking Nicki Minaj? That would be an even better career move than being in this video, and it's definitely a 1,000 times better than when he hooked up with that cunt Kelis.
4) Why was Chris Brown here? I know he was on the hook, but was his presence really needed? It was just weird for the most part.
5) Chris Brown's is no longer blonde. I don't pay much attention to Chris Brown, so I could be late, but yeah, his hair is black again. I see he went with a little 1999 Puff Daddy too. I see you Chris!
6) This slow motion shot at 1:22 is my favorite part of the video. Word!
